Lowe makes good boats. I had my stinger 175 for 6 years an never had a problem. 50hp mercury 2 stroke fired up every time. This boat just needs some love. Nice Rig John. Just give it a good once over and you'll be set for some awesome​ fishing adventures.

You're gonna like it kid. I had same boat....a 1996! I bought a Lowe fish n ski 1750 because of how well built my 1600 is. In fact, my brother in law has it in TX. Yrs, it still works like a charm.

I love the boat. As a captain on a Law Enforcement Interdiction unit in upstate NY, I was totally in the boat fever to purchase my own back in 2004. With my agency, I had access to top of the line interdiction 28' full cabin boats with twin Evinrude 300s. Now it was time for me to buy my 1st boat like you. With limited budget, I looked and looked and finally found almost the identical boat to what you have. It was the 1994 Lowe 1620 Fishing Machine. The previous owner took very good care of it and kept it garaged. It looked very good. I bought it for $5,000 at the time. With the knowledge that I had gained from my boat and engine experience from work, I traded the 1994 50hp Johnson outboard for a brand new 2007 60hp Evinrude E-Tec before moving to New Mexico in 2007. I knew there would be many marinas in NM to work on my outboard if needed. I did all kinds of little things to it, like new fish finder, stainless steel for the helm, binnacle compass, all new quality boat seats, new marine radio, one for music and a classic icom marine radio for maydays or emergencies on the water. She is the perfect boat for me. Though ugly, I put a whale tail on the outboard and she can handle water skiers no problem, if you so desire, up and out of the hole. I keep her out of the elements and garaged when not in use. I always detail clean her after use. I have had no problems with this boat and still consider her perfect for what I want for me and my family. We are moving back to NY and I look forward to hitting the St. Lawrence and lakes in the area. That's where that V-hull comes in handy, sometimes there's a little bit of chop on the water. Again, I love my boat because it has served me flawlessly. You can also boat all day less than half the gas most folks may need. She still looks sweet to me too!!! The saying comes to mind... Love is in the eye of the beholder!! You truly have a sweet boat there my friend!! :) Tks for the video! PS- Name it "Sweet Caroline"

the rear hatch wires were for when the hinge was attached to keep lid from going fully open and falling into your legs. You can try a set of those lid openers with the open stops so it does fall closed on you. Maybe someone got frustrated working in the battery hole and took the hinge loose. could use cabinet magnet door stops and just have where you remove the hole lid, they are only a couple bucks each.

when you get around to getting a new boat, check out bass tracker. about the same quality as lund or ranger aluminum but they have better perks with them. bought mine in 2016 and its still running great and i use it for everything, including saltwater.
