Alot of negative comments here 😂Just remember... In a real life situation returning the car seems the best thing to do. But as creating content is my full time job it would make a much better story and content to rebuild this thing. The frame damage although unexpected is very minor compared to alot of projects seen on RU-vid. I love to push myself and move on further with bigger builds. All safety aspects and frame damage will be done by professionals to ensure the car is safe. The rest will be left to me! Enjoy the content guys dont worry too much! you didnt buy it 😂
Good luck with it mat, as long as the frame is straightened professionally then I dont see an issue with it. Loved the bit when you said if it's not your day then make it your day, brilliant attitude to have and look forward to seeing the next video
This guy is one of the best creators on RU-vid. I won't lie, I have been following you since your Bentley build. Since then, every video of yours, I have watched it. Honestly watched it. Now you getting this, I am so happy and proud of you. Keep shining mate.
@Ethan Clark yes, but it’s still hard to find the motivation to get things done, especially with the shitty situations he’s been presented with. But yes, also looking forward to this build :)
Just a heads up; when Copart lists a car as an "Enhanced Vehicle", it means that it has already had an attempted repair on it, and will be "dressed up" to look better than it is
I have a 2014 Peugeot 208 actually it’s my first car 😅 but I bought it also sight unseen with a lot more damage but I let a good mechanic I know do it for 2500€ without paint was 1000€ but I drive it daily and love it very much I also having plans to go on a road trip with it so don’t scare you away with the damage it’s not that very much
Mat.. you're a breath of fresh air.. Listening to the problems with that C63 and still remain so upbeat about it all.. just puts a smile on my face.. Will continue to stay tune.. and hope you get the car on the road for your other half..
A lot of those copart cars look like stolen insurance write offs, used as getaway cars, unfortunately the damage goes deep on those cars, like my sons stolen golf r
@@MrTwister86660 head bolts snapping and top end problems were problems with early m156 engines, they ironed out most of the problems by 2014. It should be a reliable car once its sorted out.
That’s what makes this channel! Matts positivity and the ability to just get it done. This content will make this channel! Just enjoy the fix and show some love!
Fair play for posting Mat. Others might not upload, hide, ignore or try to give back etc. Your openness is who you are and don't change. Good luck with this project.
More peace of mind fixing it yourself you know its done properly than letting someone or somewhere else do it, someone already tried dressing that car up to make it look better too many cowboys out there
I bought a 18 Q5 at copart and the exact same thing happened. If you copy and past the VIN in to google you have to look and search, but you will find THE OG pictures. This happens all the time. This is what gives rebuilt cars a bad name. Glad to see your staying positive.
This is a massive project Mat and no better man to take it on...this is going to be so interesting to watch as you progress..bodywork of this nature is so specific and I will be so interested to see how the process of realignment actually works. Keep them rolling out and make sure Hannah helps too 😊 it is going to be her car after all 😄
Dude, if you can rebuild this bent patchwork C63 you will go down in Automotive YoutTube history as an absolute ledgend ! Best of luck I will be looking forward to watching every week to see your progress. Your channel is by far the most addictive and inspiring one out there atm
Man I love the positive attitude. The car books around 35k (US Dollars) and only paying half that seems like good deal only if 10k or less is put back in to fix and is safe. Any time I see a vehicle at auction that has the keys and in the highlights it doesn't say runs and drives or engine starts or an X on hood to indicate hood is stuck closed usually there's an issue and somebody is being fraudulent. It is always best to run the vin and check to see if its been in auction before to catch things like this if checking in person in not an option. Its always nice to have that money back, but its also nice having that gratification helping others learn from your experience so they know what to look for and knowing you fixed something that not a lot of people believe that you can or even should do. Good luck I hope all goes well.
subbed because i just got 2014 C63 with light front end damage and this popped up. wheel was bent back but it was just a control arm! I hope you go into detail on parts because mine just hit my friend’s body shop after 2 months of ebay part searching, but i’m sure i’m missing things on the front end. Can’t wait to see you finish this build and learn to do whatever i’m missing
I was going to say there's a lot of people in UK who cam do it but then realised it will probably be cheaper for him to send it to Lithuania get it fixed and return it back and still save money.
Its the fun part of buying salvage motors . Recently bought a focus off copart took delivery of it opened the bonnet and it had a 4x2 plank of wood straight through bumper and damaging the loom
I nearly bought this one off eBay myself. The seller wouldn’t budge on price, made out it was a sound car with minimal damage. Luckily I never got it, but good luck to you mate Love
This is going to be great content Matt and that is the reason we are all here. For you and Hanna and the genuine, real world style that you bring, not fake, not over produced, just great content from a real person in a real world, even for Aussies.
A scary project and fair play to you for giving it a go. Your ambition to get it back on the road is why we are all here, remember all those people leaving negative comments will be watching with intent to see you fail. Prove them wrong Mat!!! Looking forward to seeing this beast in the road
@@bruciekibbutz4698 yeah and the engine is probably no good in this one. Hoses missing belts missing if its just crash damage why are they missing. I know how much the cars are worth ive just paid 26k for one
I used to drive an S-Class as a Taxi, I used to do a few repairs myself, Beer income with a Champagne taste. I suspect this is also a modular design, where you can basically just buy new parts and refit them as needed. You are lucky to be doing this in the UK, in Germany you can't send or even fit airbags yourself unless you are a ``Meister´´ mechanic. Airbags are classed as explosives. A double garage where I live, big enough to do repairs is about the same as renting a flat, buying a garage is about the same as some houses in the UK, very frustrating. Great video channel! It is now 11,00am and the emergency warning sirens are going off!
Respect to you for being honest. You seem to know what you are doing and yet even you got stung!!! A good learning lesson for anyone who thinks it's easy to do what you do.
Mate, feel so bad for you. Hate when people try and rip other people off but good on you mate for going ahead with the build. Looking forward to this one, gona be epic! Keep at it and don’t listen to the haters. Your channel is the best on you tube....... peace out!
PMA. Your videos are so addictive. Sat up till 3am watching them. Made me feel confident and motivated in getting my converted transit LWB Hightop sorted once and for all.
Well done for posting this, people should know it’s not all upsides with salvage cars, now and again you get burnt. For those who don't have a RU-vid channel: 1. Don’t buy 'C' cars at the auction unless you've been to see it 2. Don't buy anywhere else where seller describes as “easy repair” 3. Don’t convince yourself it’s as good as it looks, assume it’s worse and bid accordingly 4. And if it does all go wrong, re-enter it in the auction, it’s cheap and easy, you'll lose the least this way and you can just move on.
I enjoy these videos of yours Mat, you're so positive about everything! Love the editing too, the timelapses, the cuts and all the rest- would you mind me asking are you doing the video editing yourself or are you outsourcing it? In any case, I really respect what you're doing. Is that right that you are not car technician yourself? You're only learning by taking the subsequent cars apart and then rebuilding them again?
Been there and done that, never again nightmare to get hold of parts and danm expensive. It will make a nice RU-vid video but financially its not worth while.
Bro take that engine out also and do a internal inspection. I would be making sure new head bolts are in and putting new head gaskets. Cleaning carbon. Checking timing chain and guides. Replacing any O-rings that are perished. Checking the cams and hydraulic lifters for wear.
Mat Just ignore all the negativity mate!!! This is perfectly fixable. It will take long and will not be easy but that does not seem to scare you which is great! Can not wait to see this thing get stripped apart. Great stuff for the channel!
Ignore the hate Matt. The harder road to travel is the one that bears the most rewards at the end of it. Too many people take the easy route and complain when they don't win. Do your thing, work out the problems and get some content and followers. I tuned in for the S5 and stayed and have watched every video since and I'll join you on this journey too. Also, you aren't the only one to be done over this way. Making it right and sticking with it gives others in a similar situation the hope that they too can get through it and have a sorted car at the end. Growth comes at the edge of our comfort zones, this project will be good personal growth (not just a panel replace and wrap) AND entertaining for us tagging along so you have a big thumbs up from me.
I don't know why people are so negative. Also Its not that easy returning a salvage car, they all state in their terms and conditions that once the car has left the yard it is no longer their responsibility. I've been their. Luckily I have a legal beagle in my family and the letters that were sent to the salvage yard hit the right note and they returned 25% of the money which made all the difference. Keep up the great work Mat!
@@kevinjbreslin4290 That's a bastard thing to say! Of course it will be safe once completed and before Hannah drives it. There's no reason why it should drive any differently as Mat does a proper job on these cars. He may not have the upfront experience and knowledge but that is what the internet is for, for diagrams, photographs and talking to other people. Mat would never put Hannah at risk of harm.
As a 15 year salvage buyer I’d say you’ve got a lot to learn . Just did a C63 Edition 507 . Rule one remember if it’s a cool car and the task was easy, someone else would have fixed it already .
i think you should get the car wrapped in a bright neon yellow just to show how speciel the build was in the end and how much time and effort you put onto it, Much love and support from here!
Nice colour! AMG all day! I reckon you got it for around £15,000. Just hope no engine damage have a nose at the common faults on this engine while your fixing it, if your keeping it. I have had 5 diesel mercs but always injector seals pain as Honda seals tad thicker maybe designed on purpose. Think theres 2/3 on this oil sump tube and bolts
I'm from Birmingham, and even me and my family don't buy from here. 97% of the cars here have been ragged, not looked after and been through more owners than a corner worker.
ON the negative -side.....That is a shed load of work, you have the airbags, pretensioners and why are those belts off if it crashed ?, my thoughts its been dollied up to get more money, frame is bent and could cost between a grand and upwards for a proper repair and then the whole car wants to be resprayed, if you have ppl who will do this for free then thats good. On the postive + side its a C63 AMG , and once sorted should be fine.. another option would be to part it out, engine, gearbox and wheels the biggest asset, and the interior should get some money. any way good luck on the rebuild, love your get up and go.
Mat, I recon that you're 100% right about the boot lid being from a regular W204 C63 AMG saloon model, as the C63 AMG coupe you have is much more rarer and harder to find !, So I recon that the salon boot lid is most probably about 20mm longer than the C63 AMG coupe boot lid. You're brave for taking this project, but it will be well worth it in the end and your girlfriend will love you even more ! LOL when she finally has the car she's always wanted ! I believe you can use the boot lid from a non AMG "W204" C class coupe and it will fit your car correctly, all you would have to do is just repaint and rebadge it as "C63 AMG" and that end of the car is sorted ! ...once you've done a few minor repairs to the rear bumper and the inside of the latch area of the boot. The front end is going to be the real challenge to sort out, as like you said its going to require specialist jig alignment so all the parts can be located in the correct positions. All the very best of luck man ! 👍👍👍
Can’t wait for this. I had a 120d and watched your whole series on that and now I’ve just brought a c250cdi amg so will be watching all of these for sure!!!
So much positivity, enthusiasm, optimism. It is two years later now and I'm wondering how you got on. Shall now take a look at your later videos to see with my toes crossed for you. Belated good luck and best wishes.
Never seen this channel, I was watching vTuned McLaren 720s rebuild when this popped up on my timeline. Immediately love your enthusiasm, subscribed to watch this C63 rebuild progress. Good luck !
at 11:30 We heard Mat explain how His positive and successful mind works. PURE INSPIRATION!! I give special PRAISE to Mat's Parents. well done with Your boy
Step 1: This car is a death trap so get your money back. Step 2: Don’t put your girlfriend in danger. Step 3: Buy your girlfriend a straight C63 AMG as you can afford it!
I don't want to add to the negativity, so I'm going to presume you are going to earn way more from this project, than it's going to cost. So all power to your elbow Matt any body who can make shed loads of money, doing something they love, and entertain people along the way gets my vote. Keep up the good work.
I definitely admire your positivity and ability to make a bad situation better. In regards to your project, perhaps it’s more feasible to purchase a lower end c-class and swap the c63’s mechanics over?
