New to my family is the 2003 Trailmanor 3023. It is a hard sided popup camper and very unique. Not many of these are made, however the company is still in business today making the same trailers they always have. There were minor differences through the years on models, but with Trailmanor keeping things the same year after year it has allowed them to prefect the hard sided popup camper. At 3000 pounds most small trucks and SUVs can also tow these.
More information on the different models can be found on the manufacturer's website.

My husband has been wanting a pop up camper for years but hasn’t found a design he loves. This is the first one that he is very enthusiastic about. Hoping to find one for our family.

The year I retired, 2016, my wife and I travelled from Iowa and bought a 2003 2720SD Trailmanor in Colorado Springs. In six years, we saw another Trailmanor ( a 1999 model) ONCE!, in California. I am an engineer and DIY homeowner by training and this, our first ever camper, rocks! You have to not be bummed with some possible structural issues over time (like some rotting of the wood core inside of aluminum square tubing, especially at the 2 front corner joints). I fixed these issues on my own. You should be mechanically and electrically handy if you want to own own of these for quite a while. I never let maintenance be a reason for selling this baby! It stows in the garage when we don't camp, a big plus in the Midwest. For travel plan flexibility, we now use the original 'has issues' fridge as a dry pantry, and keep our food in an electric fridge-freezer combo from Bouge RV. It uses lower amps(we boondocked 3 days with 100 watt suitcase solar from Renogy), switches easy-peasy between AC or DC, and you can wheel it into your overnite motel or inn, hook it up on AC, and have huge peace of mind about not having to do RV camping EVERY SINGLE DAY on a 2000 mile trip. Thanks for sharing. I think you need to be mechanically inclined to take care of any camper and I have had several. The TM is one of my favorite ones to date though!

It never ceases to amaze me just how low they installed the kitchen towel holder. It could easily have been installed higher up so that one could reach it without having to bend... but it's the same to this day, having your kitchen towel down by your knees. I'm going to be moving mine as I cannot bend down.

Ugh, I so wish my husband was into outdoors and camping! I have three children…. The oldest is an Eagle Scout, just received his Master’s, got married and is relocating to complete his PhD. He takes outdoor and camping trips often. My middle….. she is far too spoiled, pampered, and raised to that. Like my husband was….. me…. I spent a good decade as a “Den Mother”…. Seven year gap between my boys… (God had a huge sense of humor if you take time to look.) I so need to drag some lazy family bodies camping ASAP! The camping, and fresh life outdoors always served me well and now brings fond stories and joy. Again…. Love your insight, inspiration and video!

Greetings from Canada! I fell in love with the Trailmanor concept a few years ago, but they do not sell them in Canada. I landed up buying a 2007 Trailmanor 3124 in 2018. I bought it in Ohio and imported it to Canada. It's almost identical to your camper except it is 1 foot longer folded and unfolded and has one king sized bed and one double. Look up the 3124KB model. The idea, just like you, was to take it on some longer trips into the USA, and then Covid hit. So we managed to take some shorter local trips and we had a total blast in the thing. You will find that these models are very spacious and a family can camp easily in it without getting on each other's nerves! Each end bed with the privacy curtain is like a private bedroom for the occupants. The only thing we found on our first trip is that the shells didn't close gaps completely and mosquitoes managed to get in. That was easily remedied with some inexpensive rubber adhesive stripping that you can buy at Home depot. Once added, we had no issues with insects. Also, check the gap where the two shells meet at the roof. If there is a gap, you can adjust the shells on their posts with a socket wrench and a small jack, so that you can lift one shell and tighten it up into the other. The seating for five was a great social center for dinner, drinks cards and chats. Lots of room to cook and eat too. I sold the trailer last year as we decided that long term camping was not in the plans any more and downsized to a small 17 foot Rockwood Roo Hybrid that we also really like. We find it is better for short term local camp adventures however for what you have planned the Trailmanor is a great solution. It is surprising light for its size too and fit into our 24 by 28 cottage garage. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to future videos with your trailer. P.S. Trailmanor went under for a while and was bought by one of the key employees of the company and his wife. They are very nice people and any questions you have, you can contact them, they'll help you out. Their Head Office I believe is in North Dakota.....cheers!

Greeting from the USA! Fun fact I have dual citizenship with Canada! We love our Trailmanor and I am familiar with the model you had. They no longer make the 3023 which is a shame because we like the size of the 3023 and do not need a king bed. I need to put a new video out on mine as we have done several modifications. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!

Thanks for the tour. I grew up camping loads in a Venture?? Lol I was a young kid…. A second hand pop up, tent/canvas we had back in 75-76? We used for so many, many years of travel and trips…. It was kept up well…. Later my dad sold it to some guys that wanted an easy fall camp when they went hunting.

The TM is a great concept. It's for campers, not glampers. Recreation, not full time. Many more pros than cons. The 18 model gets you into all campgrounds. Sure, you can tow with a SUV, but a truck will be far better and safer. I can foresee a frustration upon arrival to camp site at midnight in the pouring rain. TM is not cheap either. Hard to find used, so people must love them to hold so long.

Nice camper. This design should keep it cooler inside during the summer, and warmer inside during cooler months. Also, a lot more privacy when talking, compared to a traditional soft side popup. I think this type camper would fit in my 7h x 16w x 24d garage. Thanks for the walk thru and setup.

The benefits over a tent camper are many more that you listed, but those are good ones. The big ones for us are the easy of setup and take down. Not having to maintain fabric and we can camp in break country. Thanks for watching!

I was just looking at one of these today, looks the same inside as yours, though its a 2001... Are they as water tight and warm as a regular travel trailer is? and if you could. what is different with that type of toilet? Can it be towed with a 4runner? Thx, Moses...
@jamie.andrews
@jamie.andrews 2 года назад
The 2001 models have wood in the upper shells for framing, so personally I would get a 2003 or newer which they switched to all aluminum. No camper is totally water tight when there are holes in the roof for AC and skylight vents. Proper maintenance can help with this, but leaks can happen which is why I suggest 2003 or newer. Is your 4runner v6 or v8? They also make 2 sizes smaller than mine and they are lighter.

It is a totally different design than a Hi Lo. The only thing similar is they both pop up, but in totally different ways. The Hi-Lo has a roof that lifts via a motor straight up and does not have slide out beds on each end. They are also not light weight so they lose that advantage as well.
