A big request I often get from these random eBay lots/unboxings is to do PS4 games. And yet I can't really do that because no seller can offer PS4 games at a wholesale value... until today! I found a listing that I grabbed right away that seemed too good to be true. But here we are, ladies and gentlemen, this will probably be my best random games unboxing I'll ever do.

Shadow of the Colossus being in this delivery and sealed, albeit slightly damaged, is the biggest surprise imo. It's still an exclusive, so it's really great.

The games with the Def Salv sticker were “defective” or “salvaged” in some way or another. Even a sealed game with a loose disc inside is considered defective.

I feel like this is fake, good idea for a video though... I bought ten random ps1 games on eBay - just open up my prepackaged selection of rare expensive titles that I put in a box earlier, along with some cheap sport titles to make it look realistic then act shocked and surprised at the deals and condition I got while showing fake savings in the corner. Just show an eBay bundle image for effect too.

“Def Salv” is a sticker that Target and different retailers use to categorize items that have been damaged. For example if a game’s case is broken or damaged, Target wont sell it, instead just salvage it.

As a Target Electronics team member, I can confirm. If the shrink wrap has been removed, or any damage to case, we typically defect them out.

Target must salvage a lot of PS4 games then, because 98% seem to always have loose discs, which makes me think it happens during the manufacturing process when they put the discs in the cases. One good thing though, the discs are never scratched since they have that scratch protection.

Retailer tip: use a blow dryer to remove stickers. It softens the glue enough for it to come off cleanly usually

Apparently "def salv" means "defective salvage". These games were considered "too damaged" to be sold or displayed and were meant to go to a trash compactor even if they were perfectly working. My best guess is that the employee they asked to throw this out decided to sell it for a quick buck instead.

These were most likely open returns from a certain major retailer, and policy is that you can't resell open games and/or consoles, so they are sent to a salvage pile which are usually sold to recylers or resellers.

I work at target, we do that with games, music and movies, when I stock movies I normally shake them as I stock, if it sounds like the disc is lose I don't put them on the shelf. Out of 200+ movies I may find 1 or 2 that are defective.

When I started off watching your channel I thought to myself "eh, he's just another greedy RU-vidr who just does the same videos and ignores his fans completely" boy was I wrong. It's like each video I see is better than the previous one, the feedback you give us is amazing! I know I've only made 2 comments and they're both praising your work but I feel like you should know that you're doing this really well. I don't usually praise RU-vidrs like that either! But honestly the changes I've seen are huge and wouldn't be possible with just your average RU-vidr. Thanks for that, stay positive!

Apparently "Def Salv" is from a Target. It means that the item (usually the packaging) was damaged.

Can confirm "DEF SALV" is fromTarget. It's considered salvage, the product can be open of slightly damaged and or defective to be salvaged out since we can sell it as new to the guest's.

I remember that feeling, my friend was closing down his store in 2009. So I bought £300 worth of stuff, 4 Gamecube consoles The Resident Evil game series 3 times over so 18 titles, At the time they didn't really sell well even though Resident Evil was a huge franchise even then, given the fact the GameCube was the least popular console of the brands legacy no one was buying the games & my friend went for a more child orientated store stocking mostly Nintendo merch, plushies & stuff. I only have 12 of left as I still sold a set at a stupidly low price as today the games are worth a fortune, plus I got some PlayStation merch, Coasters & straws for some reason

"prediction"it would be typical you get $50 worth of games for 40,basically a 20% discount.The true value is what you would get trying to sell them not what you would pay to get them.

If everyone else would pay that much to get them then that's how much you would get by selling them in the same market that everyone is using. Easiest way to estimate a "value" is to check out the completed listings on eBay, the green ones. That's what people are paying, so that's what you'd pay if you were buying and would everyone else is paying if you're selling. There aren't separate amounts for buying and selling lol, the market is the same, you're just coming at it from the other side.

Wow, what a pickup! I don't have many games in my PS4 collection yet, so I would've been super happy with that box. What a score.. you could sell like 2 of those and get all your money back, especially considering a lot were even sealed. Surprising how many fairly recent releases were in there too.

@@Ryan-th9zm he must be running out of content or he is seeing the interest for PS1-3, Xbox/360, etc games (not any current gen games) is dying downand he needed to do something to bring the interest back up. I'm predicting he will do another one saying that the feedback was so great that he had to but another random PS4 random box, and it'll probably be from the same "seller" to inbox it with the same result. Paid 40-60 bucks and ended up making 185-250 bucks off of it. Then he'll act surprised throughout the whole video

The stickers are defective salvage from Target, they aren’t damaged. Anytime a video game or movie gets returned to target that has be opened it gets salvaged out.

I know this is late. Those stickers are from Target. Basically any game ever returned for any reason, was put as "Defective/Salvage" where it goes on a pallet to be sold for crazy cheap. Typically any new game where the game rattles around is considered defective as well. That's why a bunch of those were sealed. The pallet is sold as a whole, so a reseller who knows nothing about games probably just put it up.

@@James-tc1jt Most games will be playable, it is usually a mom who got her son a game that he already owned if returned. Also, even if the game rattles around, it usually still works, but doesn't meet standards for Target. All will usually play just fine unless the case has physical damage to indicate possible damage to the disc. Most of those defective stickers are from employees seeing product that is not top quality. Almost all defective games haven't even left the store. There is also a chance some were never sold on clearance, and the distributor wouldn't take them back. Those are marked Defective/salvage as well. Even though they are brand new and no issues.

Clearly this is bullshit. Why would the seller do that? Do you think they just had too much money and needed to make room at their bank? You’d get more than 40 for modern warfare. It makes no sense

You know, some people complain about everytging possible, so they can't sell it. Since it's damaged, they won't sell it for the original price, maybe that's just a great way to re-use and sell them, instead of throwing them away. (apologize my english)

I genuinely cannot tell if this is fake. If it is, there's a hell of a lot of effort gone into faking it. Making a fake eBay listing is one thing, but making a label for a box, that seems pretty legit and finding games with common sticker types... It all seems a little silly to be honest. People are saying they can't find the sold listing, but I wouldn't say that's indication of anything. eBay manages to delete my sold listings at stupid intervals, and without the exact link or search criteria, we wouldn't know what to look at. Yet at the same time, I don't see what company would do this. These games are worth WAY more than this. They'd have to be very clueless or desperate, and that brings up the question of where they got the games as they had to sell them. Its also suspicious the RU-vidr seems to be avoiding all comments about this question as well... Not sure what to believe but I suppose link or it didn't happen?
