Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RU-vid channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I got the 56 last year and ended up buying the 52 and 60 as well. For a weekend warrior, getting a full set for the price of one single premium brand wedge was definitely worth it and I feel like they have significantly improved my play around the green.

Same here I have the 52 and 60, for most courses I am playing the 60 is a sand wedge and rarely anything else. These are great value for money I also play Wilson D7 forged irons that are great clubs. Woods are a mix, if I was to change these wedges it would be for the Kirkland’s. Don’t believe for my handicap mid 20’s I can justify the £150+ per wedge

For the high handicap golfers, the sole/bounce is the single most important feature, much more so than the 'spin factor' so heavily advertised. Most higher handicap golfers will never achieve those fantastic spin numbers but every single shot (hopefully) interacts with the turf. Getting the correct bounce and sole grind to match your swing is so important. Most decent wedges have multiple bounce options available.
@markweaks2239
@markweaks2239 7 месяцев назад
Sandwedge "bounce" is great in loose sand, and on the fringe where the ball stands up a bit. After that, less is more. Gotta pick the ball up off the hard sand and fairways. For that, bounce will scew ya.

Love the video Rick! I’ve used these wedges (52, 56, 60) for a year and IMO I think they are class for the price! The good shots are great but the bad you do get punished a fair bit. I would definitely recommend anyone how is looking at cheap wedges to look at these!

I got one of these in 50° loft about a year ago, bounce is either 6 or 8, it's my most used wedge in the bag anywhere from about 110m in. Most times I get good spin to stop it rolling out, even on short chips the ball usually checks up nicely. Really happy with it for the price.

I think I liked playing with better quality clubs so that I had no excuse if I played terribly. I consistently scored in the 80s with quality used clubs. I often wanted to upgrade to higher end stuff to see if the feel was really any different, but I was young, kinda broke and figured what I had was good enough. I do wish I got the opportunity to use high end clubs when I played all the time. If I played right now, I couldn't break 100 if Rory swung the clubs for me.

I always love a bargain when it comes to clubs so I gave the 60 a shot many years back. Actually kept it in the bag until last year, when I found a 2nd hand Mizuno T7 wedge for the same price and realized what I was missing. There is a definite feel difference between the clubs. The Mizuno wedge offers me more flexiblity then I thought this club could give me, but what it can do it does really really well.

When I started playing golf (about ten years ago) I got a set of "Hippo" wedges - three wedges for $100. They were forged and they felt great! Soft off the face, lots of nice feedback on contact. The shafts weren't the best though and on a full swing I never felt like I knew were the clubhead was. A few years later I upgraded to a set of Vokey SM4's and they were amazing - I always knew exactly where the head was and the play was much more consistent. But Vokey's are forged and they felt 'clicky' off the face - a lot harder. The performance was there, so I stuck with them but not the feel of a $33 wedge - go figure.
