Shmee150 Great Video and Congratulations on taking Delivery of your Absolutely Gorgeous BWW 1 series M coupe and I can't wait to see the Build after the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Bro, I'm surprised that you bought a 1M. I never thought you'd have it, but congratulations, my man, I hope it stays in the Shmuseum. However, I don't think you should leave the engine bay in its stock form, because it looks bland imo. You should definitely put a Dinan cold air intake system and an Akrapovic exhaust system just liven it up a bit.
You should look at putting the E92 V8 in it. It's a very common thing to do and apparently it is what BMW M wanted to do but then no one would buy the M3
The M cars of that era needed the specific M differential oil for their diffs. Unfortunately many dealers that were not really M specialists overlooked this and when changing the diff oil they refilled with the regular diff oil that is usually in bulk quantities. The M diff oil didn’t come in bulk I think. Perhaps that’s the problem with your diff. Many times the problems would go away when the correct oil was put in.
I absolutely love that you’re doing this!! You could have easily bought a show room condition car, but I love that you’re giving these cars life so they last long into the future. This is something I like to do myself. So as a true car enthusiast thanks for doing this and setting a good example!! Love the 1M. It would be cool to see it in a cool BMW heritage color but I completely understand you leaving the color.
Congrats Shmee! the BMW 1M is a great car, I've wanted one for quite some time! To be honest, I would be happy with a base 1 series, preferably with a manual gearbox; anyway, I hope you enjoy your 1M! Great video as always!
The 125i in europe or 128i in america is an excellent reliable, pleasant thing to drive. Considerably lighter too than the n54/55 ones and the n52 is such an underrated powerplant.
@@jasonstrickland9245 Do it! 125i is a blast..especially soundwise! And you can fit some OEM 1M suspension parts to it. 270hp with a tune alone. (sound example on my channel)
Congrats on the 1M. I owned many M cars, E90 M3, multiple E46 M3’s, M2, Z3 M Coupe clownshoe, etc. and the 1M was my favorite. I had it on my channel for 7 years, the longest I ever owned a car. It went way up in value so i sold it but it was just a great car and i hope everyone can experience it. Congrats again !
Catless downpipes, remus resonated midpipe, and supersprint muffler is without a doubt the best exhaust setup for this car if you’re looking to make it louder
My R34 has the same mileage as this but is 10 years older, so this car has definitely been enjoyed, while a lot of other 1M's have probably been stored and not used. Love to see it!
YES! Finally! A 1M added to your collection, not only is this one of my favorite BMWs ever, it is the ultimate version of your (E82) 1 Series 🌚 Congratulations Tim! 🎉 This is my favorite Shmeemobile right now 🥰
The only thing to do to the exhaust is to remove the centre piece with the 2nd set of Cats, you will still pass an MOT no problem and the noise you get from that is perfect. I put the supersprint centre section on and it is perfect. Last thing if you want to improve handling would be to put on KW club sport 3way and get it corner weighted. After that, the car is perfect
93,000 miles is just scratching the surface haha 😂 I’m so used to high mileage cars. My car has 120k and looks new. It all has to do with if the past owner garaged it really. Especially being up north.
Yessss I am so excited to see more with the 1M mainly because I own an E82 135i (I know its not the same thing) but I have so much love for this chassis! Really excited to see what you do with this car Shmee!🙌
I was obsessed with these cars when they launched. Used to see one regularly around where I live. It’s the body shape and the stance all combined with that engine 😍 Very jealous of your latest purchase, can’t wait to see what you do with it 😁
Each time I see that car cover I am amazed by the showmanship but also giggle at the fact someone on the team has to bring the thing around everywhere.
This is one of my favourite cars, and i’m also the owner of a 123d e82 m-sport, in vermillion red with coral red interior, and it’s my first car, bought it for cheap since it’s high mileage ( i got it at 156.000 km, now it has around 190.000 km), but had only one previous owner and was well taken care of! So this video hits a little different for me, it’s so cool
Hey Tim, I like your collection, but this one really made me jealous, it's been on my wishlist for a long time, I was waiting for prices to go down a little bit as they don't seem to be doing that at all I guess it's time to follow your example and get one. Also excited to see what you will do to it! Enjoy her, what a great car! Oh and great project with the art GT too, love his work and what he did to the car!
Congrats on the purchase, and can’t wait to see what you do with mods 👍🏽 Don’t be afraid to make some power! My 1M makes 670bhp, and is an epic little thing to drive ❤
Sincere congrats man, also i know this is off topic but what have you heard are the realistic limits that can had with ecu and tcu tuning plus full bolt on upgrades for the newly updated twin turbo V-8 with hybrid assist in the new 2024 X5 or X7 M60i?
@@BMW1M No I didn't say the XM..I said the 20204 X5 60i or the X7 60i...lol...if u know of anyone here in the USA, especially the southeast usa that does that reputably, please let me know..thanks sincerely
This car looks awesome and I’m looking forward to see what will happen next! I bought a well maintained E90 325i (U.S. Spec) with 88k miles from the original owner last year for a great price and I drive it all the time and still enjoy it today! A higher mileage car is not terrible as long as it is well maintained and taken care of.
Barum Engines have extensive M series engine knowledge and experience. He's actually building an "M" engine for his new track car at the moment here on RU-vid. Looking forward to watching this car's progress! Thumbs up!
Does anyone remember a TV show, probably early 2000's. It was 2 guys in the UK that built really crazy looking cars. Wisely's location looks very much like the garage that those 2 guys used to work out of.
Just don’t threat this car like something cheap or not important like u do lately with few cars. This car it’s a legend not only for BMW but entire industry because it’s one of the last true drivers cars.
The one and only cool sort of modern BMW. ..and i LOVE it in that colour. I love the plans you have for it, as described so far at least. OEM+ is the way to go, if not OEM. This is a project to get really excited about. Congratulations Tim 🙂
Put a S65 V8 in Tim , I know its a lovely unabused example but that would be musical heaven , every one to their own eh ? , good luck with the car great purchase 👍 cheers.
I have a 2008 135i 6 spd with 103k miles that I bought used in 2009 with 5k miles. It has "Year One of the One" written around the ignition keyhole. I love it but its showing its age. Back bumper clear coat is nearly all gone and it also recently started burning oil. It has the same N54 engine the 1M. I have no cat DPs and a JB4 tune thats been on map 2 for the last 10 years. I highly recommend the JB4. I'm sure it had around 400hp at one time. Its still quick but not like it used to be. I thought about getting a low milage 1M but feel the M2 Comp is the better car and its cheaper. Good luck with your 1M!
I bought @HooviesGarage 's 2008 135i about two years ago. It's a bit modified you could say. I haven't done much to it, but it being my only car, it's absolutely incredible. I am happy every day I drive it. It is manual and it does have a bit of an exhaust. When ever I feel sad, I go for a drive or just out to my garage to look at it. Congrats, Tim! The 1M is one of my favorites. Enjoy the smiles!!!!
So nice to see you showing some love for BMW. I've owned the 1M Coupe as well. Great drivers car. Currently own an F80 M3 CS and G82 M4 50 Jahre edition coming soon.
Epic choice! So great to be able to buy a less perfect example so you can “fettle” with it. Did laugh about your claim that each and every Shmeemobile is checked with Car Vertical😂. The Zenvo included in that list😂. Can’t wait to see this resto.
I had an E82 123D in 2012. Only car I've ever bought new. Pulled out of the dealership feeling like a boss, only for a Valencia Orange 1M to trundle by 😂
Ever since seen Jeremy Clarkson drive this car on top gear I've longed for one! Very very very happy for you also very very very jealous! Congratulations and I can't wait to see what you do with it!🤩💯
I've also had BMW 123d e82 5 years ago, the same le mans blue as you've had. Been a blast of a car, and I've been dreaming of owning the 1M, but now I've got the OG M2 2018, and I'm in love with the car.. Congrats on the 1M, wish you a great ride my man. Greetings from Slovenia! Edit: I've don't recall why I thought that you've had a blue 123d, I'm sorry mate
The clio needs some upgraded recaros out a megane r26 to give it a nice updated interior imo! Either that or a set of recaro sportster cs same seats as a mk2/3 focus rs, 370z nismo and loads more, im getting a set for my astra vxr next year
I think if you want to compete for higher viewers you need to do HEAVY mods to cars such as a 1m! Engine build to 600hp suspension big wing sequential gearbox dde style! I no you wont touch your supercars but there is plenty of options to buy something a bit older and turn them into race cars for the road! People love modifications in a big way dde proves it! Just my thoughts to consider!! God bless all🙏❤
Yessirrrr what a wonderful addition to the garage!!! One of the best BMWs + gonna look mega next to the Clio & Focus RS!!! Hope you keep this for a long time :)
This is great! Shmee150 LOVES this car! He actually drove a white 1M and 2 when he went into the BMW M! Performance little paradise on my birthday on October of Last year and now, Shmee150 has a 1M of his own! I’m so happy about this! I might be as happy as Tim Shmee150 is about his 1M 😂❤
Congrats Shmee!!! been following you for years and was inspired by your photography many moons ago! Truly enjoy your videos and your awesome car collection! very nice BMW! I just got my very first one (2016 5 Series) I truly enjoy it and I want to see more videos of you driving and doing any plans to your 1M! (Nice N54!) Exhaust note sounds very good!
Congrats on the 1M They are fantastic cars, hope you enjoy every mile getting it above 100k on the clock. Only thing I can see straight away you need to do is buy some metal polish and get those exhaust tips back being chrome
Tim finally you own something that pulls at my jealous heart strings ! Honestly I have been looking for the right one for years now and they are as scarce as hens teeth in South Africa. Congrats and look after this one ! I suspect you will be owner 2 for the next 100 000 miles !
I was thinking that I'd see the car cover in the corner when he drove it out, but it wasn't there. Amazing how you made it disappear. The engine sounds good 👍 and well done to the previous owner for actually using it.
93000miles is a lot for that kind of car, but it really isn't all that out of the ordinary for cars in general. Growing up, my entire life until just a decade or so ago, I don't think I ever owned a car with under 90k miles. I had an 89 Suburban at one point that my family bought new and was gifted to me when a car of mine died. Traded it in at over 320,000 miles (it still ran perfectly fine too) when the fuel prices were getting up towards $5 a gallon and the monster only got about 4 miles to the gallon, lol.
I seem to remember shmee saying there’d be project cars appearing as the garage progressed. I hope that means a bit of Tom and Brad on the shmuseum channel too.
After the “art” wrap debacle Shmee gets right back on the horse and immediately relocates his stride. Well done sir. We like cars, especially ones that have manual shifters and can be worked on without a super computer and an autoclave. 😂😂😂
Dude in Buffalo drives his in the winter. Saw him at a gas station and asked him what was up and he said “Its cool, I have another one in my garage”. 👏👏
Please get a C7.5 Audi RS6. You’ve gone to gumball in one and know what it’s about. Throw an intake, exhaust, and a tune on it and I’m sure it’ll do well on your channel. Loud, aggressive looks, and upgraded, as fast as some of your supercars.
Great car Tim and a great canvas. I would have an engine rebuild Tim. New pistons, rings and valves. It would make the engine new again and worthy of the museum! Thumbs up!
I was considering doing the same thing buying a cheap 1M and doing a restomod. Ended up with a E92 manual rwd 335i doing full restoration and upgrades everything from 1M/M3 the stuff that they usually upgrade to.
We saw on the smallest cog that the Clio still needed few fixes, are they done or is it still in the same shape ? I'd love to see more content of this V6 ! Good luck with the 1M.
If you respray it an awesome BMW colour to consider would be 'Java Green'. It's an absolutely awesome colour and really fits in the skittles theme of the garage
