I bought this ex-motorrad-press-fleet F900R for £5,475 in February 2023 from an authorised dealer.
The motorcycle had sustained damaged while on loan to the press, the authorised dealer had planned to turn this motorcycle into a F900R cup bike, this never happened and it just sat in storage. As I had purchased from them before and said I was chasing after an F900R they phoned me. The very next day I headed to them and inspected the motorcycle.
2023 is the first season of F900 racing with Bennett's British SuperBikes I wanted a F900R to travel to the racing and support all the racers.
I count myself very lucky that my inspection was through enough before agreeing to purchase. If I had of discovered any serious damage, I would have walked away.
As far as I was told this F900R was sent out for review as a long term test bike, then dropped at a junction on its offside and returned to BMW Motorrad UK. It's battery was flat upon its return and at some point an authorised dealer picked it up with the intent of making their own racer but opted just to buy new after declining to spend a further £5-8K doing up this motorcycle to race spec.
So I purchased with damage, flat battery and lots of enthusiasm to get this F900R back on the road. This motorcycle has 1.5 years warranty remaining which is a real bonus.
I wish I was more skilled at filming and will try to work towards it, I do not derive an income from RU-vid so fund what I do out of my own pocket. I will strive to improve my filming in future.
I may opt for a Miiv exhaust in the future, Id love panniers as travelling across the UK to support the F900R cup.
At the time of filming F900R's were holding strong values. I am really looking forward to putting lots of miles on this motorcycle while supporting SuperBike Racing.

If you are thinking about following my example and getting a great bike for not much money, you need to be willing and able to build up a rapport by being a known buyer. Once you have made a few purchases you'll get closer to being offered some cracking deals. This is the first time I have filmed any of my trade purchases, hope your okay with this one.
If this video goes well. I will film others I pickup and let you see what I bought and how much each one cost.
I plan to keep this F900R for myself, rather than offering it to friends or family.
I really like it, it rides so well.
To be fair I never was a fan of inline twins, seems all manufacturers are doing them now, then using them as a platform to build racers/adventure bikes etc using the same engine. This F900R has surprised me, its geometry is really good so I can turn the motorcycle around in a road without putting my boots down or stopping, performance is all there, it really goes well. This motorcycle has changed my opinion on toward inline twins.
BIG THANKS to / mcpheemedia on Twitter who was in Glasgow at at friends funeral and took it upon himself to go see the exhaust, which was held in a block of flats, after inspecting it he then paid for it out of his own money, transported it to Donington Park Circuit and then packaged it with DHL for delivery to me. I of course paid him back, John went above and beyond to help me put this F900R back to standard. As my local dealer wanted £650 for an original exhaust system.
Thanks for watching.
