It's all about the people that get unnecessarily killed or maimed in the other vehicles by a vehicle that is so rigid. And as for saving that man's life that's utter nonsense. Not very many drivers are killed when t-boned on the passenger side.
It isn't a hot take - it is true. It amazes me how many people can't rub their 3 brain cells together to just appreciate the fun stuff they do with EVs - or count high enough to realize the internal combustion videos are still the vast majority of content on this channel. But you can't fix stupid I suppose.
@@theangrymarmot8336 you're not wrong. Personally I think the CT is ugly as sin, but I think a rebuild series would be cool. Seeing how the different Operations work, seeing how to fix shit. Eventually there's going to be many more EVs and knowing how to fix them is going to be important.
I saw a video about EV battery swaps. Instead of charging for an hour, you pull over a specific Area and it changes out the WHOLE battery in seconds. kind of amazing.
I really liked that older couple. Honestly goals for my relationship. My grandparents could barely operate their flip phones…. But this guys got a cyber truck, using it to weld and is now on YT.
Man, it's super refreshing to see a big you tuber like your self be such a humble respectful guy. Not alot of people these days have respect. You carry your self very well just saying! Keen to see what you do with this thing!
My grandpa is 90 something and still rocking, can't complain about a thing about him, he even bet cancer. But I wish a had a grandpa as cool as Jerry as well, haha.
Funny story, the day this guy picked up this truck it broke down just blocks from the Tesla dealership and I was the one that picked it up. I tow for Tesla in Kansas City, and it was the first Cyber truck towed in Kansas City. Guy was super cool and not mad at the situation. What are the odds. LOL I'm glad that he was OK after the wreck.
I thought that older couple was great. Sincere aspirations for our partnership. My grandparents had trouble using their flip phones at all. However, this guy bought a cyber truck, is on RU-vid, and uses it to weld.
This video already has more views in one day than the last 10 of their videos. You can’t argue with the fact that these Tesla videos are profitable for them. It allows them to make all the other great content even if it doesn’t get as many views. So glad they make all of the great content.
Yeah most viewed video in over a month lol. Kyle knows what he’s doing, get all the haters out of here and keep the real fans while bringing in new fans
@@thewaxdoinks6489 Honestly, I think Tesla's are as close EVs to Honda philosophy from 90s/2000s. They are "cool" (in the eye of the beholder), practical, fast, economical. And also I don't care whatever Kyle is doing. I'm a fan, he is genuine guy that I would not regret hanging out with.
I've been subscribed since he was working out of the garage with 18000 subscribers. This content is too far opposite of the og stuff for me@@thewaxdoinks6489
I"ve never seen your channel before until today. When I saw the title I thought "Wouldn't that be bizarre if that was the Cybertruck my friend broadsided" ...And it is! Small world! It occured about a month ago in KS. I sent her the link. Good luck with your build!
I'm tired of the people complaining about EV content. Look, I'm a combustion guy all day, but this stuff is still amazing content, it's really difficult unchartered territory and I find that fascinating.
Lots of people hate the ev situation not because the cars itself or tesla. Yeah there somewhat cool and fast. Not my cup of tea. I like engines and boost. But what people hate is the green push from smooth brain politicians. We want freedom. The green push is not that.
People who say a truck like this isn't going to replace diesel are missing the point. The vast majority of trucks in this country are purchased as fashion accessories not as tools. If you want to prove this to yourself just go drive around and look at how many pickup trucks there are driving with empty beds and no trailers connected to them. This truck is aimed at the actual market not at perceived market.
I don't even own a truck but this take is idiotic. Just because a truck exists doesn't mean it needs to be hauling materials 100% of the time it's on the road. Calm down.
@@michaelcarson8375 Even if she wasn't,a t bone like this would have crumpled most other cars and trucks and left the driver with more substantial injuries. The Cyber truck is one safe truck.
Hey, it saved his life. Man his age wouldn't survive a t-bone. Got to give credit to it for that. Good luck with it. Hopefully you can get the original doors back to start with before you go about modding it away from the original build. "Is it gonna be an easy fix? I don't know." My guy, you repaired the tires with a blow torch and a pipe and got it to steer and drive again by accident. There's a discord dedicated to Tesla DIY repairs. Get in touch with those guys and I think you'll be smooth sailing.
Jerry and his wife seem like great folks. If you need help repairing it, check with a local appliance repair shop ;) J/K, Tesla builds some insane machines and I can't hate on them. My 1500hp Grandnational shares the same garage as my Tesla and that's OK.
Never watched your videos until you started making EV content. I’m here for it! Don’t really care to watch someone turbo a gas car again and again and again and again.
The heck with the ppl that show hate. You still have all your builds and your moving forward with different types and if ppl cant respect that tough shit 💯
Don’t disagree! He should still be around more and still posting on his channel! Imagine Kyle, Wyatt , Emilio all together! Only thing missing is Jamie and Brent
The fridge-theme idea with magnets 💯👍 And some creative body "enhancements" like a fake ice-dispenser and a homemade "Back-to-the-Future" stainless steel spoiler-kit.. So many possibilities.. 😂😂
It’s made of stainless steel you can dip it in liquid nitrogen, hit it on a metal table doesnt shatter but doing that to normal steel, shatters like glass
I was going to say you need to body swap it, but I think building it into a cut up offroading rig would be super cool. I think Diesel Dave proved they're great offroading machines.
I haven't read any comments. Im sure youll grt some haters. I personally think it's super cool. Im not a big EV car guy, but love the fact that you're just digging into the unknown. Ive always built different things in my life a little off mainstream. Had a 9 second 4-cylinder turbo Pinto way back in the day. Looking forward to this! Oh and BTW, PLEASE keep the pladissey as it is, and get another body for the X!
You have to be crazy to heat up a steering ball joint and straighten it! A steering ball joint is an essential safety element of the car! Changing the mechanical properties of this part is dangerous! It has to be replaced; no choice! Anyway, that's how it is in France.
Kyle, since you already have two Tesla conversion projects, I think you should try to source two doors, and return it to it's former glory, even if that glory looks like RoboCop mated with a SS fridge!
I'm a motor head. But I built a EV motorcycle 15 years ago. Set a ECTA Land speed record with it. My son and I have two Zero motorcycles. He has EV cars. I still love stuff that burns liquid fuel and makes horsepower. But my initials are E V. Love the instant torque.
It's the same war with PS vs XBOX. If you can afford both, its great to have them both. Might as well put Nintendo into it and you have amazing whole package of technologies.
@@darekmistrz4364 Gonna say it. Xbox is the ICE, PS is the EV, and Nintendo is the hybrid middle ground that people now come to accept as a great option for both worlds.
This is not the first totaled Cybertruck. There was another RU-vid a couple of weeks ago titled “ The First Two Cybertrucks Totaled By Insurers” and some are listed at insurance auctions.
@@ausdude121 If I had to guess, this is about keeping the channel and his fleet of vehicles running .Kyle has a 7 second,8 second and two 9 second Honda powered vehicles. The cost to maintain those vehicles when they were a major part of his content was huge. The only way to build a channel is to generate new ideas and different builds. Plus the newer content gives Kyle a chance to recoup some of the money needed to maintain and repair the Hondas which as you know eat a lot of high dollar parts. Going from a 400 hp street Honda to a 1000 hp Honda is costly. The modified Honda transmissions alone cost some where around 6 -10 grand and require periodic gear, bearing, case etc. repairs.
@@thomaslewis7883 it's like listening to rock music getting all your friends around then putting on opera. No @batteryboiz there is more negatives then positives.!
@@ausdude121 I hear yeah, but I don't see the negatives being that 90 percent of Kyles video's includes a vehicle with a internal combustion engine. I've never owned a electric vehicle, but a 4700 lb. 4 door sedan that rips off repeated 9.20's at 150 mph in the 1/4 mile is pretty amazing.
He was broken up about it too. It was kinda sad to hear what he said about still being able to see her coming an he can't do anything. Makes me glad I've experienced car crashes so I'm less take back if it was to happen again.
@@Spaltyslife he has been very beat up over it. You can kind of hear it in the video. But he’s got another one comin and he’s looking on the bright side, which is that he walked out with a small scrape, and that the lady that hit him walked out as well.(I’m Jayden, the grandson btw) I would tell everybody to go show him love but he doesn’t have social media😂
@@Jay_Brockheezy jayden seems like you got blessed with a gem of a grandfather! I'd definitely show support if he had social! I'm hoping for the best for your family!
Alternative idea look at the dimensions on a 2016 Toyota tundra, it’s still “jdm” and they are close enough to width and length I guarantee you could make it work. (Edit: the cab might be a bit of a close call but only way to find out is to try[or measure])
Love the truck, could care less of others opinions. When someone drives a $500 dollar car believe me I don’t give one second of thought. Enjoy the project or enjoy the rebuild.
that thing drives like a cake, you will love it, especially in Baja mode, it gives you a full power even in corners, it's bad *ss, you can just keep it as your main vehicle for the family, 123kwh battery pack will get you all the way as far as 300 mile which is not the bad for that kind of heavy truck.. subscribed for future video of CT, interesting how much it will cost & how well you will mange to repair it.
5:40 agree.. i personally think they look cool.. i grew up playing with hot wheels, and the cybertruck reminds me of the off the wall hot wheels they would make...
