I BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST HIGHEST MILEAGE PORSCHE BOXSTER I COULD FIND - IS IT ANY GOOD? 

As the original owner of a 2007 Cayman S, I can attest to the longevity and surprising stamina of these cars! It is both beautiful and fairly priced, and at 153,400 miles, it is staggeringly reliable! Short of two water pumps, I’ve not had any major issues with the car. It’s fast enough, but it’s the handling that inspires awe. Thanks for your video! It gives me hope that we might have another 100k miles together...I love my car!

I bought a 2005 987 with 70k miles on it six years ago. It's now at 120k. Other than regular oil changes, one water pump replacement and plastic bits breaking its runs great as my everyday driver.

Nice video....my 2010 987.2 six speed has 106,000 mi and has been virtually trouble free. I did install a Sachs performance clutch and DMF at 90+mi. and a Soul Performance exhaust system headers to tips, and Softronics tune...brilliant wild screaming sound and performance to boot. What a great car. Ill drive it till it dies or I die, smiles on 😎

My 2005 987S has 160,000 miles on it now. It's been good to me since I got it new. Certainly lately, there's plenty of parts that I'm replacing (the clutch finally went around 150,000 miles, PASM and a new steering rack in 2018, just had to replace the top transmission, etc.) as they are starting to wear, but no engine troubles, and I'm still on the original IMS. Will be good to see how long it holds up.

I have a 2005 non S with 107k paid less than £6k. Some new tyres on the back and its is no longer trying to kill me in the wet and handles amazingly. MOT tester licked his lips and attempted to recreate the famous scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, then described it as mint. Chuffed to bits with mine. Great channel, subscribed and the bell ticked. Chewy lol.

That’s one smart car you’ve got there. My BMW E46 has done 224,000 miles and providing they are well looked after good quality cars can stand the mileage and make excellent buys. Plus you don’t have to worry about adding more miles on if it was newer, lower miles and accelerating depreciation. Enjoy! 👍

I also have a 986 with almost a quarte mill on the clock. Awesome car. Will keep it for ever. Did replace shocks, bushes and suspension though. Awesome cheap fun, thanks to YT tutorials.

Legend.. sometimes the cheapest cars are the most honest cars .. i worked as a trade plater for bca Mercedes the lot Main dealer approved cars are dogs too...they have no idea what they buying from auction until it turns up The most honest cars are the ones you can't lose on ..like these ..there's no such thing as a good car unless its new Going used there's no perfect science. This 07 plate is nice as good as any out there tbh

I have an almost identical model to this; same year, colour and engine with nearly 92k on the clock. I’d agree with everything. I drive sensibly, but all the fun of the fair is there when you want it. Maintenance at a Porsche specialist (not dealer) doesn’t break the bank and is every 2 years or 20k miles. I’ve only had to replace tyres once in the 50k miles I’ve added. Only issue I’ve had was when water got in because of a blocked drain and blew the electronic management which sits under the passenger seat, so make sure you clear those drainage channels.

Stumbled across this channel and the boxster was the first vid I watched got a 2.5 986 which has less miles than yours but had harder life I think so body a bit scabby in places and has the odd issue but it gives it character and I think its a great car. Just subscribed as enjoyed the vid

HaHa, we bought a 2005 997 for just shy of 18k with 75k on the clock. It was a Cat D but with a perfect repair and pre accident damage photos. We drove that car for 5 years, spent nothing on it and sold it for 17.5k, now that's what I call cheap exotic motoring. Everyone (and I mean everyone) asked about the scored bore problem and the IMS bearing. We just dropped the oil out of it every 5k miles and like your Boxster, I suspect it could epic mileage. The funny thing is, our neighbours thought we were rich belting out of the drive in a glorious 911 but the truth is I think they paid more for their average modern motors, they certainly lost a whole heap of money in depreciation etc. I subscribed to your channel today because I like the content and presentation - just wish there was more of it :-)

These model Porsches are so well built! Like a tank. The material of the interior are so good. I love my 2008 Bosxter

I’ve got an almost identical spec Boxster (apart from the steering wheel and Bose Sound System), with over 150k miles. Had it for the last 25k miles and had a few things need repairing/replacing, but nothing close to anything that would break the engine or leave me stranded.

Just bought a 981 2013 Boxster with 198,000 KM. I get an Intake Camshaft position timing slow warning and the Drive shaft boots needed to be replaced. Drinks spilled on the console caused the switches to be stuck but taking them apart and cleaning with rubbing alcohol did the trick. I also have a 1999 Boxster with 189,000 km. was tracked a lot but is still going strong.

We have a 2006 Boxster 6 with 6 speed manual with 78k miles. Fantastic car. Drives like a PEACH and tight everywhere. Everything works. Didn't get that kind of a deal though, was more like $15,000 USD before purchase. PASM, Carrera 19's.. it's got charm for days...

I bought a 2001 Boxster S June 9th 2020, so it's been a little over a year I need a new brakes rotors tires the cooling tank was cracked and a fuse blue and had to be replaced. I love the car and don't plan on selling it it has a little over 43,750 MI now so I put about a thousand miles on it since I bought it. It's a great car for my area which is Palm springs top down love the engine sound as everyone else does and yes at corners like man unbelievable

on my 987 battery gone at 80k miles. 700 pounds for fitting bosch battery by the dealer. it was serviced for free and now runs like new.

I have one of those. I will never sell it. They are a ton fun easy to repair and parts are not much more expensive than any other car. The only thing is that they wear a lot of brake pads and tires, but that also depends on how you drive. Top video.

I really enjoy mine too, but have to say that I like the look of the led rear lights more with the 987.2

Don't know if anyone else has commented but, I much prefer to see a service history with good independents than an OPC. Especially on older cars.

Great vid, very enjoyable. Got a great deal, at that price they are usually non runners or crash repairs or engine blown. I thought I got a good deal when I got my cayman 987 2008 with only 57k miles in mint condition for less than £10,500. Love the 987 generation so old school feel to it.

I would suggest with todays prices the 987.2 is a slightly better choice if only for the updated PSM and as others have said with the PASM option. That said I would rather just jump to the 981 and the S model with the Porsche Sports exhaust and sports mode PASM and also the Chrono pack as a bare minimum of options.

I did the same an 07 2.7 about 1 year ago! The brakes were shot, new pads/disks & calliper refurb! The suspension total shot new mounts/bushes/arms/drop links all around. Various fixes to interior. Starting problem led to new starter motor/battery. The Positive battery terminal is prone to failure and needed changing - not cheap! The exhausts on these things are mighty expensive and getting them off is a pain as they rot badly. Pray the drive shafts don't need replacing on the 2.7 they are ridiculously expensive! and the list goes on..... Still want one?? Unbelievable road holding, great sound, top down and I love it - but where did all my money go.....
