If there's one thing every RU-vidr has to own, it's the Hummer H2, and I found the perfect example. This 2003 Hummer H2 has almost 300,000 miles, tons of mods, and it's sitting on chrome 20's. It screams Hummer, VERY NICE.

Had to look it up (as nobody touches the pass side knob in my TB), but hold the "auto" button for a few sec to sync the HVAC temps. And if they're real touchy, the pots need to be cleaned.

Liquid Slugging is a known issue on that era of H2 and it causes that tensioner to make noise. I had an 03 with the Adventure package and went through that with mine. The ride height air compressor can fail and they're pricey, when mine quit I ran a "T" and connected the bags to the Schrader valve next to the 12v accessory port. That made adjusting the bags occasionally easy.

jon i own several gmt800s i just had this same squeek problem and turned out to be a bad waterpump. never leaked or showed any signs of failure untill it exploded on the highway.

I have a 2008 with a terrible rattle in the sunroof. I hope you tear that headliner apart and show me how I can fix it. I think the sunroof is the same in the first GEN and the second GEN. It’s going to be fun watching you give this thing an overhaul.when you’re done I hope you will look for a 2008 model and show the difference between the first GEN and second GEN.

We had an H2 definitely aftermarket spare tire carrier oem is like $2k now and the interiors just fall apart our center console lid was missing and door panels were broken and put back with jb weld plastic bond. Instrument cluster was hit or miss as to when it would work, water would come in through the roof lights. Leather on the seats was just disintegrating in the sun. Engine and trans were always great but the ac system always takes a crap and something with the ignition system wouldn’t let the key be released, there was a parasitic drain on the battery, exhaust manifold bolts broke and gaskets went bad twice. Rear suspension air bags go bad and leak so after parking for a while you get a mean squat 😂, radio display went out but the radio still worked. HVAC control went bad compressor went bad ac blend door actuator broke potentially taking out the door with it. We sold it and the new owners crashed it which is a shame the exterior was mint. Also hate to break it to you those go for 8k here all the time with 140-180k miles and less noises lol

@@alfredvinchagurara2054 no we just tried not to let it sit very long and if we knew we weren’t going to use it we just left the battery disconnected. I wish we’d have fixed it but it wasn’t something we really cared to look into after all the other problems popping up within the last 2 years of ownership

I truly miss when GM had balls, but just like every other great idea that they’ve ever had they work really hard to make it so much better and right when they get it to the point of top-tier, they kill it, and the Hummer was no different. Ironically, if they would come back with ittoday it would sell like crazy. No I’m not talking about the stupid electric one.

Dont open the back by the door handle. That plastic door handle will break. Afyer unlatching with the handle pull the rear hatch up by the metal door. If it doesnt lift itself after a foot replace the struts. That handle is the weakest part on the truck. Also 2005 and up had the global windows which is awesome. Seats are super plush. Also these will hold value from here on out. Theres nothing dumb about that.if it has bodyroll make sure the transmission guard cage and front skid plate are bolted on. Sometimes they get taken off and not put back on but they help the stability like a crossbrace. Its not normal for the shakes over bumps. There is something wrong with that h2.

Looks to me like someone ran a couple self-tappers through the plastic and into the sheet metal to solve that 😂 the handle is broken on mine too. Gotta be gentle.

@@daymoncleveland0622 the baye (if you know what I mean) has new ones for low right now. There used to not be any new ones out there under 500. It's a good time to pick up the new " h2 rear pocket" with the handle for ~210. They used to be used 350 used

Figured I’d wait until it broke the rest of the way and I NEED it, but by then the prices will be even higher. I also need to find a kit or some foam inserts to reduce the plastic rattling in my interior. Those are the only 2 complaints I have about the whole Hummer. Broken handle, and noisy interior. Other than that, mint. 👍

@@daymoncleveland0622 I can't think of anything inside that would rattle. Maybe some screws/bolts need to be tightened? I did install an interior tire carrier and it rattled until the carrier bolts were dialed in.

@@Tokenomics1 I think A lot of it comes from the cheap GM door panels. I forgot to mention the door panel on the driver door has been glued because the previous owner is only 5’4” and there’s no step, so he always used the interior door handle to push himself up inside. He told me “I don’t know why I ever put a lift on this, it was tall enough.” 😂

I have an H3 & met a guy here in town with an H2...got to talking and he showed me his completely destroyed interior. He had gone camping and a bear had gotten into the Hummer and tore it apart. Guy decided to leave it as is for a conversation piece & to be fair it's a pretty badass story to have for a vehicle.

On the sync for the climate control, yes it does have a disable for the passenger zone. You press and hold the auto button until they go into sync. Same with all the other GM digital dual zone.

Yeah, my '02 Envoy is the same controls and I always have it synced to driver. Only when the passenger knob is turned does it become set different.

That spare wheel that you have back there is a rotary forged Centerline “Flint” with the wrong center cap. I ordered those directly from Centerline back in 2004. They still make them 😎

As recently as eighteen months ago H1s and H2s were easy to find in conditions ranging from "it's what was left after war ended" to "like newish". Prices ranged from "what is todays price for scrap metal" to " Holy crap! What are you smoking?" And they were NOT selling. Almost as soon as the new EV Hummer was announced all those used H1s and H2s seemed to fly off used car lots. Here in our little town H2s have become a common sight compared to two years ago when the only one I ever saw on the road was a heavily "pimped out" white H2 driven by a local teenager. One local dealer, who sells every H1 and H2 he can get in, told me that many of his buyers are open about the fact that they always wanted an H1 or H2 but waited too long to get one when they were new but don't want the EV version in any trim level or price point.

One is a "rolling billboard" for his business with a very eye-catching wrap while the others are black, red, and what looks like a very dark blue. All four reside in a very nice garage. The one with the wrap was/is white and is the only one he drives on a regular basis.

Among the million “complaints” that are exaggerated here the 4l60e is NOT the turd that their reputation implies. I use an lq9 in front of one for heavy towing for years and 265k miles and I mean 10k regularly. Keep it cool and don’t neutral drop and they’re good.

Please... please don't Too many RU-vidrs have fed the internet a bunch of terrible information about H1's. ChrisFix isn't one o them... but DDE, Predator, Hoovie and others have basically made the internet believe a bunch of bullsh*t about the trucks. For example - tossing a duramax in them is as easy as changing the oil.

I bought a running and driving h2 about two weeks ago for $4300. 200k Needed 4 tires, gauge cluster, wiper motor, and headliner was water damaged but had rebuilt trans and ran fine. Cheapest H2 I could drive home!

A sunroof drain clog victim. Seems we all have that issue. Look into the drain mod & save yourself the headache of further damage. Only takes about an hour to do both.

I rebuilt a 2005 and I can tell you once you have it dialed in they are amazing vehicles. I keep kicking myself for selling it but trading up for the new Hummer EV1 was worth it. You can direct swap in the electric fans from an Escalade, the wiring is from Nelson Performance, and all you have to do is add 2 pins in the ECU harness and unlock the function. You said you were going to tune out the speed limiter, might as well do the electric fan upgrade. Made a world of difference on mine. Alos, the body noise you are feeling is most likely coming from your body mounts. Good luck finding GM ones. Took me 6 months to locate OEM mounts (aftermarket doesn't exist anymore) and the cost on them was upwards of $1200. But, after I replaced the mounts it rode like a Cadillac.

I did a bit of googling and I think I found a picture of this H2 being towed behind the RV with cool grey, white red and black graphics. The owner says it's a '03 and has been towing it since new in Florida. The post is from 2019 at "IRV2". It still had the original wheels on the picture.

That flat tow package on the front is the same set up as my friend's 4 door 4 wheel drive Chevy dually. When we worked out of state, he would tow the dually behind his Prevost bus. The dually usually had a 16 or 20 foot enclosed trailer behind it too. We called it the land train. I have a short video of it on my channel somewhere. Pretty ridiculous but the bus pulled it all like a champ. We just had to plan the route because backing up was not an option. lol

This truck will only appreciate now onwards. Doubt you can buy a defender 110 that is made way more than half century back these days under 60K in not much higher. These H2 s are going right in that direction. Only be aware of many thieves who want them to be shipped way way away from motherland and PLEASE don't let that happen.

Unless your driving video at the end was right after you started, you may have a coolant temperature or sensor issue - the temp gauge is showing 100 degrees.

At the limo service in Nashville Tennessee we had 3 Hummer H2 limo. One was black 140" stretch #2"was Yellow and black 160" stretch #3 was PINK Nad black 160" the ride was great---turning radius was HORRIBLE. They turned head and made money

That's a Sirius tuner... Pre-merger. They were 2 completely different companies. The truck, being a GM, had XM, but if you wanted Sirius, you added a unit like that. Same if you had a Ford/Dodge product And wanted XM... In fact....i have a Kenwood tuner like that one( the blackbox out back) floating around here somewhere...with a lifetime subscription on it... just don't have anything to plug it into....

If you hold down the Auto button and it will sync driver and passenger climate zones turning on both arrows in the display.

April 15th is coming up fast. Hoovie is buying the Merc's and JR is buying up....well....what ever he can flip. Taxes are coming due and used cars aren't new, so buy, buy and bye.
