I Bought The Fisher-Price Game Boy 

Finally a proper game console

it plays many many sounds, each time you push the same buttons and each time you push the cartridge in, youll get many different game tunes and sounds, and yes, the music is from, tetris, kirby, megman, metroid, mario, pokemon and more. you should get the fisher price game controller and review it as well, its loosely modeled after xbox controllers . it made the perfect gag gift for my friend Joseph, we laughed and reminisced over the nostalgia / bootleg elements of this thing.

Fisher-Price has certainly changed since I were a lad. I had a pull along rotary phone.

I actually still have my first game boy I bought from my first pocket money ever in 1999. And it STILL WORKS. I just finished pokemon red edition. I have to say those old games are still so good!

Oh my god, when I was your teaser picture I did look the item up, found where they were for sale & there price, that was it my interest had peaked. When you unboxed it & I heard the classic based sounds I was actually very impressed. When you mentioned the KONAMI CODE it really brought back those retro vibes. As a console collector I now feel I should add one to my collection as a novelty item, might by two & keep one unboxed. ;)

Once you're a parent you will understand. My son loves these toys. I love the throwback style of the old game boy and made me want to get it for him more.

My nephew had this fisher price radio that came with different dics, and the music changed according to what cd you put on it, so Fisher Price definetely has the technology to make another of these gameboys with interchanging cartridges

i bought one for a fellow gamer friend of mine as a gag gift, its so hilarious with elements of bootleg as the tunes and sounds it plays is from famous games like kirby, metroid, megaman, tetris, pokemon, and more, but were changed just slightly enough to avoid the copywrite ninjas, plus i further bootlegged it by adding little mario stickers to add to the '' game play'' on the screen

They even have a Fisher Price switch now. And oh boy the sound team must have had a lot of fun composing the music for it!

I was kind of hoping this was going to be the Fisher Price equivalent to the Leapster.

i think all the references were cute, thatd be fun. yeah, that one you were confused about is definitely kirby. you got all the songs right for sure. the device is extremely cute and i think whoever made it is genius! however, i think you underestimate kids. ive heard a good amount of 5 year olds who mention gameboys and such :) i knew what a gameboy was when i was 2 according to my folks (though i didnt have one), and im 17 atm.

The pokemon intro theme is what stood out to me i bought it for my baby but i can agree with you that some of the themes sometimes catch my attention too they are creatively reconstructed

wait a minute... THAT WALKING DOG LOOKS LIKE SONIC. hear me out : in sonic 1, sonic has a frame in the walking animation that looks EXACTLY like that dogs pose. i like that also the dog is a 16 bit sprite probably if not sonic 1, its at least sonic 2 game gear.

My 16 year old sister got this for Christmas LOL! She absolutely loves it. I'm 17 years old and even though I didnt grow up in this gameboy era that much I still knew about it because of my uncles lol.

Let me see if you can make a actual mod game out of this fisher price game boy!

I LOVE THE NINTENDO REFERENCES IN THIS LITTLE BABY TOY

The first song was the ABC Count from the character and the theme was Super Mario Bros and it was hilarioius. The 4th song was simular to The Legend Of Zelda and it was awesome and it feels like Link in fighting all the emimies outside.

My daughter (20 months) has this and thinks it's great. She also has the Fisherprice game controller as well.
