Dude for sure keep the CRT for your retro games -- people are paying good money for those big ones now that they're starting to become popular in that community
I would love to hear the process of leaving the old shop/warehouse, storing everything, looking and bidding on properties, then winning this one at auction. Congrats JR!
You won the lottery. This property will provide YEARS of content. BOTH in house rebuild vids, building rebuilds, and car stuff. REVENUE….. I’m VERY excited!!!!
Congrats, I started watching when you built your last shop, I really miss the content from that shop and was sad when you sold it. Really look forward to this new shop content, now who can build the best shop Hoovie or JR 😎. I have 2 of those workmates in my garage, they still sell them and I just use it as a portable tool stand.
Knockdown stucco ceiling is awesome painted with a satin or semi-gloss, the flat spots shine and leaves a matte look in the divots, gives lots of texture. Congrats on the new house.
Suggestion from my own experience,, make room for a common closet for the vacuum, broom and supplies. We bought a decent sized home that had a coat closet, but not enough room for cleaning stuff. So annoying! Very cool place, can't wait to see what you do with it!!
What I love about JR is he can fix cars, reno houses, rehab commercial properties! He was wasting away at his old IT job he really seems happy in his new direction
That tree was the best thing to ever get rid of. It's a Chinese Elm. We have them here in Utah and they are are a vile weed. They drop little seed pods that can and will grow on cement, rock anything that would kill other plants. Congrats on the new property!
Awesome to see you doing so well and diversifying (content and business) with the Mini Resort. Congrats on new shop. Still remember watching you get fired from the IT job. You are living them dream - telling the MAN to go pound sand and being successful on your own!
Some interesting stuff certainly went on in there over the decades.. lol. Congrats -- it's going to be dope with the WatchJRGo renovation team on the job
J.R. I remodeled a house that had been smoked in for 40 years. You need to scrub the walls with Zep foaming wall cleaner. Soak until the tar starts running down the walls, then wipe.
That fuel pump is the high pressure pump for aircraft with fuel injected engines. It's valuable. those go for around $900 to $1300. Weldon is the most plentiful brand. I've got one just like it with the ports both facing forward. They put out about 22 psi. Which is all that's needed for mechanical aircraft fuel injection systems.
You ABSOLUTELY need to start a new channel called “WatchJRReno”! Going over the house renovations that you have going on. This would be anything residential/flip/home related. And your main could be anything commercial /warehouse oriented. Take advantage of this platform and monetize on all fronts brotha! Been watching you since 2019 and just saw this video pop up randomly after not having you in my feed for a long time. Almost half a mil subscribers! LETS GO! Get that bag!
That 19:56 used to be a 'back bar'. It had glass shelves to display the booze. The actual bar was removed, it probably had an 80s theme, think 'Miami Vice'.
Scott had me rolling when he said the weight machine was his lol, he's already building muscle in his arm's. You gotta give that thing to him JR, cuz he sure got fired up when he saw that, you can just do a trade for child labor.
You have serious vision. I looked through that place on sale day and had no idea where to start. I wish I'd shot auction footage, the guy had a killer Cadillac collection (Shameless plug, hit me up for '67 Eldorado parts) 😆
I think this will be a really good setup for consolidating and making it eventually everything that you're going to need in one location. I also want to say that not knowing anything about the property not knowing anything other than watching your video........... I think you handle the subject matter of who previously owned the house very well and thank you for making a positive video. I do not know if you would even consider this or if it's even plausible but if you redid the workshop, the garage, the kitchen, and master bedroom with bathroom at the same time ......then it might be livable while you redo everything else? Great job and I'm very excited about the future!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Finally! Good job. Cant wait for the content. Maybe find a local shop guy to come grab all that stuff you don't want. Basically its free but ya got to take all of it.
Wow! You have a lot of work ahead of you! How about a subscriber work event? You get a ton of us to come and help you clear out the house. Demo in no time. Congratulations, by the way!
Add washer and dryer to master bath when you expand it. So nice to wash your clothes and bedding and put it away in the same room. But still put washer and dryer downstairs for rest of house use.
Congratulations!! I was actually on the grounds of the Playboy Manson, but I didn't meet Hef, but I met Hef 15 yrs later and have a picture to prove it.
Congrats bro!! It’s been about a year we’ve been waiting lol! Looks good, can’t wait to see what y’all do with the house. So will you be selling your current one and fully move here? Plus that master bath with the window is crazy haha. 😂
Congratulations!!! Been watching since your last day on you IT job. You’re definitely been working hard and deserve this. Love the spray foam for the building (make sure it’s closed cell) Try to do a heat pump if you can, you’ll be glad if you ever decide to add some solar one day. Can’t wait to see the house and shop renovations.
I’m excited again :). To be honest I really have not been watching the other videos from the resort.. I love your car content and I’m excited to see it coming back!! 😊
Congrats, looks like a great spot! Obviously everything nasty and needs to go in house, but lots of good space there. The shop is a much more appropriate size for you too. Excited to see it all come together! Maybe you and Hoovie can get some package deals on building materials, lifts, or whatever else as you reno
@5:27 - don't throw away that Johnson's paste wax if it's in usable condition, it's great for cleaning up old/neglected furniture, and they no longer make it.
This property has potential. If you plan on living there eventually, I'd suggest running a Multi-core cable between the shop & house for your security & computer networks, when you lay the new cement. I'd also suggest a shower/toilet for the shed too - gives decontamination option, until you get house renovated, and keeps it clean afterwards too. Good buy, JR. Better option than that "farm".
i had to look up the racetrack on JR's shirt (im not a corvette guy or i would have recognized it), google maps shows it as being farmland despite it being built in 2013 lol
The whole thing about ceilings, and why knock-down and popcorn suck is that the goal is to make the ceiling invisible. Flat plaster/ super flat ceiling white paint and it won’t be visible. The room feels bigger this way.
With the house being gutted this the perfect opportunity to do things to better seal up your house for better thermal efficiency. 1) get a blower door air exchange test. 2) have your interior and ventilation aero sealed to reduce leaks. 3) have your attic insulation removed and all of the joints and ceiling penetrations sealed, then have new cellulose insulation blown in. 4) install an ERV heat exchanger to manage fresh air exchange while saving energy. These steps will greatly improve both your efficiency and indoor air quality.
Renovations are a ton of work, but satisfying to see the transformation. If you're not living there I'd recommend gutting and recarpeting first. I'm doing the carpets a couple years after we got our house and it's a much bigger pain.
Best complement I got: I'd live there. Uruz, Wunjo, and Fehu. Are the runes that my family has carved into every front door head jam of a house that they have built for a few centuries, well according to my Great-grandfather. He did tell a tale or a googol after dinner. ;-)
