As a collector of all types of firearms seeing this and knowing someone lost this makes me kinda sad. Took a long time to get that all together just to loose it really sucks big time
Some dudes wife probably divorced him and took the house and kids and everything else. Now all his stuff that he got to keep and had to put in storage while he tries to get his life together just got yanked.
When you find a gun with wear and tear , you cannot expect to get the same price as a new one. the thunder 380 was rusted a bit so i don't think you would get the price of that pre owned , which looked in much better condition ! That is not reasonable pricing to me tbh
@@spekops7527 i dont disagree with you, i mostly cared about the lever gun, the Garand, and the Springfield armory m14 clone. They all go for over a grand and folks like em. The guy said the single action revolver was a colt, thats another expensive find if actually a colt. That said ARs are a dime a dozen and so are most any other fudd guns like the Remington. The scopes and red dots weren’t anything special you’re right, but still its a decent collection. If the guy was a 2a supporter and hunter he had damn near all bases covered for what matters in my opinion.
@@FerretJohn That’s for sure. I used to be on site Manager of a Public Storage. If its a younger male, usually they ended up in jail to miss rent payments. Sometimes its dangerous for us when they’re released and come to find their stuff was sold off.
Can't tell you the number of youtube videos I've seen where someone finds a gun and proceeds to act like it's a cool toy. Thank you for showing gun safety is important for all guns, but particularly when it's a unknown gun.
Great find. As a collector myself, I was drooling every time a firearm was pulled out. I yelped like a little girl when you pulled out that mint condition M1 Garand. The previous owner of that storage unit is definitely not young judging by the firearms. He probably passed away or something tragic happened. Ain't no collector of this scale is going to simply let go of that storage unit.
I was thinking the same thing. I can’t imagine anyone that had that collection and a well organized storage unit would let it go because they couldn’t make the payment😢
For anyone wondering how finding a weapon works, it varies state to state. Here in VA, we run the serial numbers to see if they're stolen or used in a crime. If they're clean and legal, then theyre cool. This is straight from VA governments website. "With the exception of machine guns, firearms are not registered in Virginia."
@@burebista1491 maybe, being a gun guy and recognizing everything immediately I totally felt the loss. Like one of my favorite children.....the ones that don't "borrow " money. Hehe j/k. Kinda
4:55 Not sure if anyone mentioned what this was already, but that's a notched straight edge. You use it to make sure the neck is perfectly straight before you level your frets on your guitar. One side for 24-3/4" necks and one side for 25-1/2" necks. It is notched so you can place it directly on the fretboard and the notches will skip over the frets.
Feel sorry for the collector who had lovingly acquired all the stuff. I am sure this was worth much more to him than what was totted up on the board. Makes me sad to think that this is what might happen to all my beloved collections after I am gone.

@@motog4-75 Yeah, I mean I don't have much knowledge about storage unit pricings etc. But couldn't the owner just have taken out a few guns or some ammo and sold it to pay the rent? Just a side note, that Osprey bag is definitely more than $10. Best backpacks and bags in the game, they offer a lifetime warranty on everything and are known to have great customer service. If that's a backpack, you're looking at close to $200, if it's a duffle bag then it's closer to $100-150

They loved that M1A, you can tell from all the mags and ammo they had for it, that is also one of my dream guns. They had a 45-70 Marlin and I just got a 45-70 Henry a couple weeks ago, I couldn't ever imagine having to put that away in a storage unit and then losing the unit, let alone the rest of those. Life(or death) must've happened to him, badly.
I agree with you halfway through the storage unit,, I told myself someone either died or is locked up in prison in order to let that unit go. Sadness to lose those vintage guns excellent condition 😢

I would feel sorry if it wasn't in the state it was in. The buyer had it right. This was an arsenal ready to shoot... on a rental property. This guy was a nut and not a collector. Collectors follow gun ownership rules. They don't have loaded fire arms in a rental facility like a TV show. I love the antique weapons, so I am glad they are going to someone who will be more responsible.
These units have to abandoned for an extended period of time before they go for auction. Extremely low probability of someone retaliating lol. Also they don’t film live ….
He probably died and his family didn't pay the storage company fast enough. Kind of sad but at least they didn't go to some delusional anti gun person who would send them all to a the govt woodchipper.
At the end of the video when opening the ammo, the ammunition in the can that was in the green bags is what I’m presuming to be M1 Garand 30-06 bandoliers. I have purchased ammunition like this for my own garands many times before. The steel clip like thing that holds the 8 rounds are called “En Blocs”. That m1 Garand you purchased seems to be in very good shape. Congratulations on your score.

That Heritage Arms brown "empty" box you pulled out actually has the 22 magnum cylinder still in it which goes to the Heritage Arms 22LR revolver you pulled out at the beginning of the video. That Heritage revolvers are able to swap the cylinder from 22LR to 22WMR. So that is another $35-$50.

most likely died . but in America rather than inform a person's family being made aware of such unit they just auction it off. Its quite disgusting really
@@AlainnCorcaigh It's not bad business practice. Many times you aren't legally allowed to just hand family members access as you can get sued for doing so if the owner didn't want that. There is also no real way to know if someone died, all that will happen is payments stop and you can't contact them. Additionally you aren't even allowed to go through the stuff, which is why default auctions happen in the first place. If you do have assets, it is your own responsibility to properly document your belongings in your will otherwise stuff like this will happen.
The PREVIOUS owner of the storage unit is either in jail or has pasted AWAY or it's part of a ESTATE that is MISSED placed just speculating ! It's all according to GODS PLAN!!

The oily "clamp thing" in the box, is an X-Y axis guide for a drill press table or a metal milling machine. Often used to accurately mill out gun parts @ home. The black foam blocks are to put on the gunwales (sides) of a canoe so you can invert it on top of your vehicle for hauling to the lake.
I thought it kind of odd that you didn't know what I consider "common" tools. The air compressor, air tank and router just to name a few. But I'll admit my knowledge on firearms is relegated mainly to what I've experienced playing video games. 😅
Not to mention the respirator he called a "gas mask" that the person had "for ww3" 😂🤦🏻🤡🤷🏻 such a Sally when it came to the guns too. Sure did seem scared of em to an extent.... Was as if he was under the impression that the guns will just shoot randomly just by touching them 😂😂🤡🤡🤨🤨

Yep if you buy storage units tools are a staple of your earnings many times. I'm no carpenter or framer or whatever but ihave basic knowledge and use some periodically. I saw quite a bit of random tool bits and such that were undervalued. Even the Tupperware....But it's no big deal, somebody else gets a little break.
Yeah about zero knowledge on everything that isn't a modern gun... I'm not a gun guy, I'm Dutch so no guns here, but I knew what those guns were before he did.... only the modern pistols i didn't know.. For someone who wants to make money from storage lockers, he sure needs a massive schooling in common knowledge about everything not modern-gun related.....
I have never seen you this excited Jebus. I can honestly say I am at the edge of my seat watching this unit. This is the kind of unit us auction buyers dream of (Maybe not as expensive though lol). Amazing finds!
That's a really great collection , I'd love to know the back story of how it all ended up in a storage locker. Perhaps someone's back up plan. Either way nice pick. Congrats
As a collector of WWII rifles, I was enjoying seeing this unpacking but sad to think someone lost all those fine weapons. The small flat rate box you cut open with the bowie was En block clips for the M1 Garand and a pack of cardboard sleeves that slide over the clips when loaded. The little metal strip parts in the magazine cases in the box are 10 round stripper clips you use to hold bullets. You found some .556 ones loaded later in the video. Wonder where the handguns went though, saw 45 ACP, 9mm, 22, and 45 Long Colt rounds on top of the holsters. One of those boxes you called "office supplies" almost looked like medical tools to me. Also you said the loaded En Blocks you found in the bandoleers were 308 and unless you had a rechambered M1 Garand they should be 30-06. One would almost think you found a preppers hide away armory but there were too many random items like power tools in there. Also, would have expected to find Freeze dried food in that case. Last leaving magazines stored long term loaded like that damages the springs so they may have feed issues due to weaker springs leading me to think it was not a backup armory. All in all happy for your find but feel really sad for the guy who lost them. Hopefully the give back stack included the bible because many people pass them down for generations and that one looked like it may have had history. Also keep the boxes for the guns, guns with the original boxes and all the paperwork tend to have a higher selling price, sometime much higher. Considering I own a few of those weapons myself and have no need of ammo I would have to say the thing that hit my want button the most was either the WWII 1942 Bayonet (have a Garand and a Springfield it would fit) or the large cleaning kit box. I would highly suggest you have an expert appraise them though for you. Keepers would be the M1 Garand, maybe the AR 15, and the 45-70. Also thought I saw a splash of orange on the tip of one of the pistols (rust??) Last check the wood chest for a false bottom (missing pistols?) it looked a bit shallow from what I could see.

The heritage firearms box you found at 26:55 has an extra cylinder for the Bettis 22 you found earlier, the cylinder changes the caliber from just 22lr and 22 short to 22wmr. It also gives it a bit of a bump in price if you didn't chuck it

@Balian Goddard it is He said AK ammo, the AK (47, the most popular by far) shoots 7.62x39mm, or .30 Russian. The ammunition found was 7.62x51mm NATO, or, to put it mildly It was SCAR-H ammo

The M1A was the civilian, semi only version of the military's M-14, which was chambered for .308 Winchester. The M-14 was developed, at least at first, from the WW2-era M1 Garand, which fired .30-06, and they were manufactured in the same factories. That's why they look so much alike. In the end, they shared no common parts. Also, the ammo box you opened with the cloth bandoliers, those look like the en bloc clips for the Garand, which would make it .30-06 and not .308.
2 things - I've never seen so many guns come out of one unit AND I've never seen a locker buyer who consistently knows nothing about any type of tool. Tools are your kryptonite, Jebus. Great buy!

@@connie_be I understand the concept of their channel but basic knowledge of your field of business is very important. There might have been 2-2.5k worth of ammo in there as most of it was cheap target fmj's. The .270 and .30-06 were the only items of value. A couple middle of the road AR's, an AR10, and something like a Savage 99 would already be worth more than that ammo, and safes that size usually hold 10-14 guns depending on scopes, stock styles, etc. It would have had to have been full of cheap .22's and turkish shotguns for that ammo to be worth more than a safe full of long guns.
@@randr10 The production capacity is based on regulation that involves a lot more than just "ramping up the amount produced". Remember that each bullet has to be registered (not like a gun, but still registered). With the Covid over the few last years, there's also a lot of problem from manufacturers with HR. This becomes a vicious circle where the company has a reason to raise the price, raise the price and keep that price high until the reason renew and so on. (Kinda like how video game raised in price due to the cost of the disks and cartridges and yet, when turning to digital, never drop in price.) Another problem with production which is not just affecting this market is the raw material market. In the last 2 years, the metric ton of raw iron have ranged between $103 and $207 USD in value with only 1 month (nov 2021) where it dropped to $96. Between June 2014 and May 2020, the price was fluctuated between $50 and $80 with a few instances at $40 and a few slightly above $100. In other word, since Covid started the price of iron (used to produce steel and other metal used in ammunition) has 2x if not 5x.
@@creationsmaxo There's no ammunition registration in the US. I'd say maybe 15-20% of shooters hand-load their own ammunition; I've been doing it since I was 14 and there's no registration involved, lol. The closest things to that level of restriction are CA where one has to pass a background check for every ammo purchase (ie total insanity) and states like IL where one needs to hold a FOID card in order to purchase ammo. A few states/counties don't allow ammo to be purchased online and delivered to one's home, but the vast majority of the country does not have that problem.
