I remember back in the day, I got a pelican wireless controllers for the ps2. But the bonus was you could control a rc car that came with it, it was neat cuz the controller lit up as well. But I think it didn't even last me a month lmao
The Nyko Wand was a solid Wiimote, but I think it deserves even mode credit than you gave it, see this controller had an extra feature to their port at the bottom that could communicate with any accessories that made use of it, and Nyko actually made 3 that did so: a nunchuck that would rumble when the wiimote rumbled, a pistol grip where the trigger and hammer were recognized as their own buttons where one was mapped to A and the other B (they could be swapped with a switch on the bottom of the accessory), it still includes an output port on the bottom of the pistol too so that you can connect a nunchuck if you need it (including the aforementioned rumble nunchuck) this in my opinion was the absolute best way to play shooters on the Wii. And finally there was a keyboard controller that gave the Wiimote a small keyboard for chatting and typing, with triggers on the side that could additionally be mapped to A and B (this was the least useful accessory, still neat though). It's this added functionality of the Nyko Wand that ultimately has me arguing that it may narrowly be a better controller than the official Wiimote. As I recall, the built in speaker was worse though and the D-pad was a tad squishier. Still I loved the pistol accessory and the rumble nunchuk.
What kind of PlayStation controller were you holding there in the beginning, with the d-pad on the right and the shape buttons on the left? If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a bootleg controller too.
We had a local electronics store selling their own version of the PS controller, and they can only be used for RPGs, they work for the length of the warranty after it's up it mysteriously stops working. Looking at you CD-R King. The PS2 two-way adapter to USB works fine though.
I had the Sharkpad and mine worked well. It was only controller that still has a good working joy stick all these years later. I could never get the turbo to work right for me though.
I own a Retron 5. You don't know how many different brands of SNES controllers I went through to find one that works. My problem with all of the bad ones though wasn't stiff buttons, far from it. The problem I had was that it seemed like they replaced the spring mechanisms behind the buttons with pudding.
Honestly, the only game controller i have is a wii mote and a nunchuck. Only other controllers ive once held where a snes controller back when i had an nes. And a switch controller when I've played with friends.
You know the cheap plastic off brand controllers that look exactly like the official controller? I was given two of those as a gift which were GCN controllers, they did not last long at all. The first one’s port snapped off and all I did was unplugged it, the second one broke when it fell on the floor which is all carpet.
5:45 Well, yes actually. The square, triangle, circle and X are all Sony trademarks. Nobody else can put the shape on their controllers unless it is licensed.
MadKatz did make some good PS2 and decent Dreamcast controllers, but yeah. I never really liked any N64 or Gamecube controllers made by anyone but Nintendo. Not all 3rd party controllers are bad, although most of them probably are. The Asciipad for the SNES became my favorite controller for the system.
6:48 Really? I mean it seems to functionally work. I don't think thats a F- it might be uncomfortable in your hands and L and R buttons have a specific sweet spot to work. That sounds like a "D" and then throwning it shows that it's durable
It's weird to imagine the Superpad64 as a bootleg, since it honestly was one of the first attempts to provide a controller more tolerable to hold while playing on the N64.
Did anyone else have one of those janky boomerang shaped N64 controllers? I always hated those things. They were so big I couldn't hit any buttons with them, but my brother loved that thing.
i had a bootleg gamecube (i collect them for fun) that died this year and my madcat wirless controller may soon get the same treatment and i hope it dosen't happend because my brother use it because its the samll one and kinda like it because its *WIRELESS*
