For any non Americans wondering why a pharmacy is selling this and other non medicinal products, in America, nothing just sells one thing and everything needs to sell toys and games. Edit: This is so common, Hasbro has exclusive transformers they only sell at Walgreens
I'm from Australia and I never really heard of this before, it's not like chemist warehouse (basically our walgreens, I don't think you have it in America) is selling fuckin hollow knight
at 9:35, my brain realized that the image of a fusion of Killua and Black Clover's Asta jumping on a trampoline on a bootlegged Game Boy is the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life
Bumbles: "Why would I buy something so stupid? Spend my money to get something like this?" Me, the sole owner of GameFly's GBA Garfield Game Stock: "I dunno man."
6:44 The ball was inside the court, but tennis courts are set up so that both doubles and singles can be played on them. You were playing singles, the doubles alleys are out of bounds.
If there's one thing the My Arcade Go Gamer Portable, Cough Medicine, and the movie Cats all have in common is they make for a great RU-vid video. (Where's the Cats retrospective and cough medicine tier list, Mr. McFumbles?)
What's bad is that my grandpa actually bought the same handheld console on the thumbnail before his death a year ago. I kinda feel bad for him now knowing it wasn't a legitimate retro console that he thought it was.
It wasn't enough that Waddle stole a Kirby sprite: that enemy with the long nose was ripped from the Commander Keen games, too. Biggest injustice to Commander Keen since Bethesda tried to make that mobile game.
Honestly, I picked up one of these from Duane Reade (in NYC bought by Walgreen's years ago) in 2019 for about $20 knowing what it was mainly to shell it for parts and to see if I could eventually succeed in reprogramming the chip with my own custom games or something. Back when I still had ambition and wasn't suffering from extreme depression.
This harkens back to where I was so tempted to buy one of those Sega Genesis plug and play consoles (I thought it was an actual Genesis) at the Family Dollar near my college.
I remember having one of those things, the only game that i was familiar with was Sonic & Knuckles, meanwhile the other games were some weird stuff i don't remember.
I had another very similar version of this when I was younger after the cartridge slot on my Nintendo DS broke. It was actually pretty great and the batteries lasted freaking forever, which was a big plus for road trips. The games were just enough to keep me entertained on a 3-4 hour road trip so I guarantee you that my parents thought that it was worth every penny of the $20 they spent on it while we were on the trip where my Nintendo DS broke.
Regarding the tennis out, it actually was an out. The sides are considered out in singles but are not out in doubles. Great video though, and I'm glad they included a new installment of punchout on that console.
I went to cvs which had the same item and I took like 10 minutes trying to figure out if there were any Nintendo games just to end up not getting it and when I walked out the door my bike was stolen which I later found out was like 3 minutes before I walked outside so that arcade portable got my bike stolen by getting my hopes up.
I grabbed one of these at a garage sale for a dollar. Gotta say it looks pretty cool with the lit up buttons. Can't really give it any other compliments. The fighting game was the only one I "dug" into. After a while I was able to pull off all of the moves, but the supers (special meter moves) in particular do insane damage, so spamming them to just steamroll, chip, and stun loop the CPU was kind of a fun challenge. Also, final boss is just a mirror match after you've defeated the other 4 characters and there's no ending, just returns to start. The molasses speed is torturous, so still can't recommend it. City Battle is probably the best game on it, but even it seems to drag on forever.
I saw this thing 9 months ago, and nearly purchased it out of morbid curiosity. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity and saving me $20! I shall like and subscribe now!
In singles tennis, landing the ball in the alleys (the long rectangles on either side of the court) is considered "out". In doubles tennis however, it's considered "in" because you need more space for two teams of two.
Pretty Great video. Although I do have to correct a minor mistake You said that the Cheap fighting game on this console would make it to EVO Before Skullgirls. Last EVO. Skullgirls was a main event there
Hare Fighter’s main player artwork is another case of stolen Capcom artwork, it’s from an arcade multigame compilation called Three Wonders. The rabbit character was pulled from its puzzle game section, named Don’t Pull
My parents bought me one of these that looked like a tiny arcade cabinet. We don't even have arcades here in Germany, and i've only ever met 2 or 3 people who know what a cabinet even looks like.
I'll ask when the channel got so bad when it misses. Which I don't see happening. Except tester, which is testers fault, hard to make something nice with the show equivalent of a rotten fish XD
Note from the guy who manages the spreadsheet: My Arcade does not own Data East. With the major exceptions of Windjammers, Glory of Heracles, Karnov, and... a 4th one I can't recall, all of Data East was bought by G-Mode, a division of Marvelous (the Story of Seasons and No More Heroes guys). G-Mode, however, has no idea what to do with most of them, so they let Marvelous USA license them all to My Arcade for cheap, as they got them all for comparatively nothing anyway.
I bought something similar to this as a kid, only in a shape more comparable to the GBA, and with a different selection of NES bootlegs, such as Curly Monkey
Hey man I think after this you NEED a pallet cleanser so I recommend Evil West it’s a 3rd person action game where you play as a cowboy vampire hunter and personally speaking it’s really fun
I got one of these a couple years ago. Can't find it for some reason, but , hey, it's cheap and effective. I could just sit and play it and unwind. A lot of the games were fun and the art work was pretty good actually. I may have to go shell out 20 for another. It's fun and I do recommend.
I remember seeing that thing at Pilot Truck Stops years ago. I was curious about it but glad I kept my money. I get the feeling it was for hillbilly truckers to get their kids when they forgot their birthday.
Every time I see that weird handheld Based Loaded collection thing at my local Walgreens, I get a little tempted to buy it. I still haven't, but maybe someday...
I guess am easy to impress. In my 40's grew up with Commodore 64 and an Odyssey. I like these types of games. I have bought a few off Wish and AliExpress. I like them...I think they are all a blast.
Will garbage plug-and-play consoles be a new branch of content you put out?! Because at this point, I'll happily watch you review knock off cereal brands- your humor is just that on point.
I bought this at CVS a while ago. It sat on the back of our toilet until we moved and we threw it away lol. The interesting thing is that the box I bought had Pokémon DP sprites on them, but I spotted this again at the store recently, and they’ve been removed.
I have this as well as an 8-bit version that I also got from walgreens AND a "Data East" official licensed version OF the 8-bit version that is identical to the normal one but has 5 extra games that are actual Data East titles (Shout out to 8-bit Crude Dudes/Busters for not totally sucking!) but all of these get hardly any use since I also found a GENESIS PORTABLE at Walgreens with an SD port to add roms, but that actually came with a slew of great Genesis games in-built: Splatter House 2, Mortal Kombat 2 and 3, Decap Attack and many more. It's literally the best thing ever.
18:19 Forest Adventure had stolen sprites and platform assets from the Maplestory DS game. There was a Stringe floating around and my monkey brain went ook.
So Jack quick tennis fact, those boxes on the side are only meant to count as in for two v two matches. Otherwise in single matches it's the two middle ones and the back one only.
My aunt got this for me cause she saw it and knew I liked games, I was forced to act like I loved it whilst mashing A and B for the rest of my birthday(being like 2 hours), I lost it the day after and didn’t care enough to look for it
