On duramax we have a brace from the bellhousing to the end bolts on the t case to prevent this from happening. No idea what manufacturer first started with the let's hang all this weight off the end with no support but the brace is a game changer

I would replace the housing. There are very easy to change out. YOU CAN DO IT! Welding it is just a little better than JB WELD. I've been running a billet flex plate on my truck for several years now and as long as you have a built transmission, you should have no problem with it. I personally have never seen one cause any transmission issues.. As long as you have billet input and output shaft, you will have no problem. Looking forward to watching the rest of the project. I had an out of balance driveshaft for years on my black truck and never broke anything. My driveshaft was redone awhile ago and is balanced

Is your receiver bent down/back or does it just look that way? I've noticed it for awhile now but thought it was just the camera angle but thought I'd ask now!

It was bent down from the bolts being loose(Supposed to tighten them after 500 miles). I loosened them all, jacked it up level, and retorqued the bolts. It's straight now

I’ve split an overdrive housing when I gave it a little throttle and the drive shaft came off and luckily I stopped it in seconds cause I fixed it for next to nothing 1 mile from my shop/house

those transmisions suckkkkk i put 3 48re s in my last truck over 3 years until i sold it because of that went to a 08 with a 68 rfe same exact work even more miles and never had a single problem in 3 years !

I tig weld those cracks all the time it’s a pain with dirty aluminum like that. I would call the company clearly it was a bad core and they should take care of it

I vote jb weld it and order a new one and swap it when you have time!! My 1994 12 valve had a broken motor mount on the passenger side, took it all apart, built some custom washers to contour the block and then put it all back together with jb weld and it never came apart! I did look like a mountain of jb weld tho, but the stuff works great!!
