This kind of gave me a throwback vibe to when you broke her Fox body and you and Tommy were sitting on the side of the road lol she probably loved those calls that started out with , babe please don't be upset😂
Bill noticing the red fender 😂😂. Gotta give Billy credit. He's not afraid to tear into something and find out how it works. He's taught himself how to work on just about anything.
Breaking stuff and then tearing it apart is the thing every street racing family do and I have seen some amazingly quick tearing apart and putting back together between rounds...THIS IS NOTHING TO SRC AND OMG AND TOMMY & ALLISON WORK AND LEARN TOGETHER AND AT THERE OWN PACE...ALL CHANNELS HAVE GREAT CONTENT....
Spent the last 19 years working on European and Asian cars and I can appreciate how they are engineered. You can make them run with efficiency. I’m still a die hard Chevy GM guy at heart
Before you know it Wyatt will be running the shop, what a handsome little fellow, if your not breaking chit your not trying hard enough to go fast. God bless and as always be safe.
Billy....what did you DO!? We were broken down on the other side of town, at the exact same time. Must have been something in the air As far as color... uhhh... Orange cause... ya know...
The Supra needs to be a dark pearl purple. The purple will look so fricn incredible on that car because of the body lines and curves and when the sun hits it, it will just be incredible!!!
12:50 good rule of thumb on Toyota engines if it has a belt the valves won’t touch but if it has a chain it will obviously there are exceptions but for the most part that’s a good way to tell if the engine is interference or not oh and turbos usually have dish pistons too
Spent 19 years working on European and Asian cars at my day job. I can appreciate the way they are engineered, with an understanding they are far advanced compared to Domestics, you can make them run.
Paint the Supra medium metallic quasar blue. My 92 Vette is that color. It’s an awesome color that you don’t see too much. When it’s nice and polished I get compliments everywhere. They only made a little over 1000 of the 92 C4 in that color. Now I need a 383 with a procharger for it.
Stick with an oem tensioner and I recommend getting it from Toyota. I have seen non oe tensioners blow the bottom off of them. Definitely inspect the oil pump housing threads for the tensioner you may need to replace that as well.
SUPRA have you considered just wrapping it a lot easier to change your mind and only takes a few days. Just a Thought. Nitrous is part of the launch on 2jz [victor] Cooper runs in the 7's stock bottom end.
The Preperation to do a Wrap properly when the paint is this damaged is nearly the amount you need to paint it. And at the second hand it doesent look as nice and wont last.
So are IDS in Ohio , and ALOT closer to him . They've already been talking and helping him I saw .. plus it usually takes a lot more time to get into induction compared to other places simply because the demand down there with tons of 2jz/supra stuff going on...
Billy... At my shop will use this 3M tape to block out "electronic noise". It's kind of like thick, chrome masking tape. Let me know I can send ya some
It sounded like it lean popped to me but it definitely jumped the timing it that tensioner broke it really screws those engines up when the timing gets screwed on them! Hey just as a suggestion the best CJZ guy that I know is Victor Alvarez he owns Bradenton Motor sports park plus Induction Performance he's a Supra 2JZ expert!!
Love the video and your channel. Tommy saw your interview on Tinsoldiers which I really enjoyed. Tommy, you do an incredible job with what you're putting out online. The best in this category from all I have seen, I have searched hoping there were more channels as good. On the negative comments left, I think that's just a small percentage which is the result of that small percentage of people that are just negative or critical that way, you nor anyone will ever please them. As you know, we are all made different, therefore it's impossible to please everyone. Take into account that at your age you have already accomplished so much more than just about everyone in this short amount of time, this includes even more than your Dad and Billy did. I know they accomplished the things they did but you have also. Very few could accomplish what you have with all being the same. Keep up the passion you have for getting better each day along with making sure you are having fun, otherwise what is the purpose of doing it? Just one old man's advice who cares, nothing more or less.
You could paint it yellow for lemon😂. I’m just razzing you. Thanks for all the videos and updates T2G. Your family is making dreams come true. From dreams to Goals, a heap load of hard work and determination, help from friends and family, equals a large following and a long life of racing, wrenching, and repeating. Respect.
Dom : [looking at the junked Toyota Supra being hauled in] I said a ten-second car, not a ten-minute car. Jesse : You could push this across the finish line, or tow it. Dom : You couldn't even tow that across the finish line. Brian : No faith. Dom : I have faith in you, but this isn't a junkyard. This is a garage.
Billy, i love how you stay cool when adversity happens you keep a strong poker face knowin you're gonna fix it even better than the way it was, thats your way of sayin HE WHO LAUGHS 1ST LAUGHS LAST..🤣🤣🤨🤨
Rob is indeed correct in that both VVTi & non 2JZ's are not interference engines. We use a Gates tensioner and never had a problem at 1080 to the rear wheels. I know you'll figure it out Billy 🤙
Gates tensioner solved the problem on my Duramax eating belts. First tried a new "parts store" tensioner then a NAPA unit with no luck. Gates tensioner looked different than the OEM and 2 replacements, which all looked the same. The Gates unit solved the problem immediately. Kept shredding ribs off of at least 6 belts until problem was fixed.
@@williamstamper442 Yeah Gates is definitely high quality. I've used em in all my projects for years and never really had a problem. Especially the timing belts, great products.
@@TylerF30 Now that is possible, tho I'm unsure. We use a non-VVTi in our GS so I wouldn't know. I do know that factory they are both non interference.
Toyota have some awesome engine designs..1jz, 2jz, and 1 uz for example...lots killer JDM inline motors from Nissan aswell. I've never had any, but have read about and find them interesting. I'm old tho...I'll stick to what i know and love....LS sawp the worlddddd. haha
Man, I'm really sorry that happened to you. It'll probably wind up being better in the long run though. Pull the head off and see what you're working with. Good luck with the baby and congratulations!
Bro! What kind of oil filter is that on the falcon? Front cam sensors are the same regardless of 1x or 4x. Crank sensors are of course different between 24x and 58x. 58 uses gray. Front white sensor works on both cam triggers. I always use 1x cam trigger, regardless of whether the crank is 24 or 58 and just select custom on the ignition setup How much is an LHD conversion for the Supra I wonder?
Those pesky supra timing tensioners lol at least it wasn't something you personally did tuning wise lol or you would have never heard the end, this is just normal streetcar or race car crap we deal with lol
Just my 2 pennies, but why not pull engine and trans so they can paint firewall and tunnel? Also give you a chance to really make the engine nice and clean as well..
if it has upgraded cams bigger then 272-282 they can become an interference engine , being a 1000hp supra id suggest pulling the head as my money is on it has 282 cams and the valve will just barely touch .
@@rickyestes7477 he could have a 100k motor in it, but the Malibu is only worth so much. Guys do it all the time. But car sale price to car sale price, it's worth 3x more
@@rpturbo I said it as a joke to just to make everyone laugh. I exaggerated to make it funny. Honestly, I have seen stock low mile Supras like Molly’s car for strong money. A stock Malibu in the same condition is probably is probably 1/3 to a 1/4 of the price. Cars that are modified like both cars there’s no real set value. It just what people are willing to pay.
It's cool to see you go out of the ordinary and tune on the supra not just the v8 stuff it's different but it's cool it's still car stuff and gear head stuff hopefully you get it back together quick man
The JZ motors are non interference like Rob said. But if it has cams over a certain lift, they do become interference. Assuming for this to make the power it does, it probably has cams.....🤞🏾 you get away without any major damage.
I think it really dark royal blue with some purple and some Metallic in the clear would look awesome, my first truck was pearl white with dark dark royal blue along the bottom 79 Chevy short wide big block truck tubbed
I think a perfect color would be a midnight purple/blue that paint could look either color depending on the angle unlook at the car and time of day . Almost like a chameleon paint style but not with as many colors.
Hey Billy get ahold of Trevor at motion auto tv. He know a lot about that 2JZ stuff and would make a cool video the two of you. Awesome video keep up the good work
Imo, RSP (royal sapphire pearl) is the color to have on a supra. It's almost a purple but more towards the blue side now is definitely the time to take the supra apart and do it right. looking forward to see some supra content too
Cement gray or Stone gray color like on the new toyotas. I don’t know why but I think that color looks fire. Seen a similar color on all the new hellcat challengers and chargers. It’s clean but looks so good I think
This sounds crazy but try a shop vac with a rubber hose to get a great seal at the head. It work for me. Good luck. Love this car!!! Shes a runner can tell by the squinted eye dyno ;) EDIT: make sure to clean the shop vac out before doing this so you can find the missing piece easier..
On the color, it's funny that when you asked the 1st color I thought of was purple and then you said dark purple. I was leaning towards a mopar purple but dark purple is doable too..
Absolutely love seeing Wyatt in the videos he's awesome can't wait till he grows up and he starts racing LOL hey Billy when you going to marry Molly hope I didn't start a fight 😊
I just put a TKX in my Torino and I had the same issue getting it to go in all the way,, it was engaged in the disc but wouldn't go in all the way.. I used a pry bar to pry on the clutch fork and as soon as I did that it released the disk and it slid right in.
Duct tape a funnel to the end of a shop vac, then duct tape a piece of hose that's small enough to fit in the spark plug hole to the end of the funnel and then vacuum the camera out.
Honesty, I think yall should do one of two colors, either Midnight Purple 1, which is like what yall are thinking about, or Bayside Blue. Both of these colors were from Nissan, but I think that's what would make it cool on the Supra.
Paint it a blue like Tommy’s S10 or a little darker with silver racing stripes or something with the silver to break up the blue. I think that would look really good
Cool at 14:24 I got to see the Speed-O is still working , Bill you should thank your Bother for that? lol Also , when that little Car is Running Good, you will all be Surprised, that little car seems to be close to Cleetus car!!! easy 9 seconds. I think it would be good for all of you to take it apart & put it back together, so you understand why it does what it does. lot's of power there. 17:41!!
