Linda I just want to thank you very much for all you do on your channel particularly when you personally shared your grief. I’ve been re-watching your videos this week because a few days ago I lost my papa. My dad and he was my world and you have been keeping me company with no judgement and just pure compassion, thank you so much for what you do. This channel is the Lifeline at the moment.
Jess, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I’m sending you so much love! I want you to know that your comment helped me so much with something I am struggling with righ now. I can’t thank you enough for reminding me of the purpose of my channel. We help, support and uplift each other and that is such a beautiful, loving thing. ❤️🙏
I'm so sorry Jess, it's so horrible losing a parent. I lost my mom last January, I never had a dad so she was my whole world. The huge hole in your heart won't go away, but I promise you'll learn to work with it and find joy despite it. The price of love can hurt so terribly.. sending much love from Texas, and know that all of us here care!
I'm rolling on the floor laughing at how many of those colors I have 😂😂😂 I'm so lazy about color mixing and I'm such a huge sucker for pretty colors! But I'm a good girl, I do look at the pigments in my favorite convenience colors and practice mixing them up. That way I can premix those and then I store my mixes either in airtight cosmetic jars or medical specimen jars.
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind not quite, but I'm getting there lol! Also, the tube straight onto the brush is my go to method. To mix a color I'll put two colors onto the brush and mix it onto the paper. I love this method because the colors not being entirely mixed is very pretty. And I'm so down with a color mixing video from you! A looongggg one 😅
@@melissaamyx2196I’m glad to hear that because I’ve been planning a series where I take one color at a time and mix it with all the other colors and then do tints and shades. I think if I do the videos, one color at a time, it will be easier to digest and remember the color mixes.
@melissaamyx2196 I just have to figure out if it’s something my patrons would be interested in or if I should do it on RU-vid. It’s really, really difficult for me to get my patrons to answer questions about content when I ask them.
“This is what happens when you late night order paint” and “Good job Linda, I didn’t order any stupid stuff” 😂 I enjoy my Liquitex Basics, I find them good for their price point (especially up here in Canada) I definitely saw a few colors in your haul that I want to add to my collection. Tfs 💙
I’m sitting here eating lunch and I almost spit it out laughing when you quoted what I said 😂Glad you found some colors that inspired you, just don’t late night shop for them 🙃
I have all those colors and more. I used to mix a lot more colors but, I'm too old and too lazy to bother with all that now. 😊 I just put an order for the Liquitex Heavy Body paint. As of the time I am posting this, you get free Liquitex umbrella when you buy a certain amount of paint. I got another umbrella just like for buying Liquitex Heavy Body a few years ago. I was so happy I could get another umbrella in case my other wears out or gets lost. I did lose the one I now have and was heartbroken but, I tracked that baby down and got it back. YAY!
I love all those colors and have about 10 of those colors! I laughed out loud and you deserve it. I went online as soon as you opened the box. There is still a sale and if you buy 6 or more they are 4.71..sale is still on folks...Im ordering. I will go through all my paint first. I keep my Golden and other expensive paints for separate. I love Basics for my sketchbook and playing around...its a nice soft medium which takes awhile to dry on my palette.
But do you have all those blues? 🤣😂 I laughed when I edited the video too! 😂 Good to know about the sale! When I called them to ask how long it was going, they told me till the end of February so they must have extended it. Thanks for watching and sharing! 💕🙏
Can't have too much paint right? I think you'll use it all for sure! I painted an intuitive painting today and I need more pastel pink and some green. I don't care about light fastness either, I'm not a professional. I use crayola lol. Thanks for hanging with me while I painted!
Commenting before the video is over...that color selection of Liquitex Basics is to die for. Love them all. I'm feeling under the weather today, but seeing this eye candy makes me feel better. 😊
Oh, I’m so sorry you’re feeling under the weather! Sending you hugs and healing energy. Not feeling well can be such a downer, but I’m really glad my paint purchase indulgence made you feel better. I might be feeling under the weather when the credit card bill comes though. 😂🤣💵
I do have demos using Liquitex on my Patreon. I’m doing more of my demos over on Patreon these days but I will definitely keep your request in mind for a future RU-vid video. My next RU-vid video is already planned and is going to be a Sketchbook tour. Thanks for your suggestion!
It's 3am here - in South Australia - and I can't sleep as we're in a heatwave. and it's still 28 degrees C (about 84F) so I appreciate having your video to watch with a cup of tea but as you're using my favourit paints now i just want to start painting lol
Oh my, 84 is hot! 🥵 We are in the 30’s here in Vermont today. It’s cold but I HATE the heat and would rather have cold weather. It really blessed me to hear that you enjoyed the video but I had to laugh when you said it made you want to go paint because that sounds just like me! 😂🖌️🎨
I was laughing at all those colors! Good for you Linda! It was fun to see the unwrapping of such beautiful paint. I will have to try some of those colors. I could take notes on your color mixing video. I always forget what I have mixed in the past. I do not mix colors very often. I probably should. Thanks for the swatching! ❤ Have a great creative weekend with your new paints. I love the vibrant colors! 😊
Hi Linda. Gorgeous paint ❤Do you like the shine? Me: I don't mind. Here, that's 10 bucks a tube! Ah, what can I do?! Say hi to Don ❤for me 🎉😊😮much love ❤️
I’m so glad somebody commented on that because I realize not everybody is a fan of neutrals, but I had a blast mixing those multi pigment colors together. 😂 Thanks for watching and sharing!
Would you say Liquitex Basics is as good as Golden's heavy body? I use Golden Heavy body and Liquitex soft body. Have not tried Basics yet. Curious to know how it stands up next to Golden (which I love) other than the gloss vs matte. You got some great colors here! You will use them all so WORTH IT!
Golden Heavy Body is a professional paint. Liquitex Basics is a student quality paint. Liquitex Heavy Body would be more comparable with Golden Heavy Body. I hope that helps!
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind Oh, ok. Makes sense. So probably less pigment. It is so much cheaper I am going to try it. Thank you! New to your channel and I love it!
Thank you, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel! Yes, you’re exactly right. The Liquitex Basics has the same light fast and quality pigments as their professional line just less pigment. Perfect for sketchbook work!
I love all the colors im on a no buy till xmas ,so im enjoying other artists doing these types of art haul/ swatches it satisfies my art color soul..does liquitex do smaller sizes for like sample sizes? Does the parchment tend towards a gray white, or is it a residue from the black line either way i do like it very much also like the unbleached color lol.. well basically i love all the colors..sighhhh..Enjoyed video alot..💙🎨👩🎨🇨🇦🇺🇲💙
Good for you on your no buy! Liquitex has smaller size bottles in there soft body paint, but I don’t know if they do in their Basics line. The parchment tends towards a grayish white. Thanks so much for letting me know that you enjoyed the video! 💕
I love this review! I'm just now beginning to get into painting and I am looking for a good entry level acrylic paint, and this is one of the ones I've been considering! Would you by any chance happen to have an idea how this Liquitex Basics compares to Amsterdam Standard and/or Winsor Newton Galeria? These 3 seem to be the best quality paints that are available in my area and within my budget (with Amsterdam and Liquitex being the same price and W&N being around 20-25% more expensive) Would really appreciate it any feedback or experience you might have from these brands. Also will be doing a deep dive into your videos as they seem like they can help me a lot in my painting journey
Hi and welcome, I’m so glad you found my channel. I’m sorry that I can’t tell you more about Amsterdam or Windsor and Newton acrylics because I’ve never tried either of those brands. What I can say is a lot of content creators that I really trust are the reason that I started using the Liquitex. They just seemed really happy with the paints. I also really loved the fact that they were lightfast, even though most of my work is in my sketchbook these days it’s nice to know that if I wanted to paint something outside of my sketchbook, I could use these.
