Bought a ‘16 TSS Tacoma a year and a half ago. It’s not a 4x4 but is my 1st taco. Lovin’ every minute of it. Have wanted one since I was 16 and I’m 36 now so yeah a little overdue. Found your channel with this video and subbed as soon as video finished. Bad ass trail and bad ass tacos. Hope the repair wasn’t too bad. ✌️
I really really wanted to continue watching... but the music man.. if u said you remixed sounds of the chassis grinding rocks I’d maybe continue .. Hope to see more uploads. Good content
I ordered a Tacoma for a 15 year expedition trip all over Vancouver island and Northern Canada. I will use my dirt bike days and dune buggie experience to avoid breaking my vehicle that will have a T-59 Tufport on it's back and an expedition Telescoping tiny trailer.
$4000 dollars for a new rack pump and bearing.... GTFO, buy the parts and call the squad you went with and I bet you can do it yourself for much cheaper.
I hit a huge pothole in the rain going 35mph in my 2nd gen one time, I was afraid I had broken something but all it did was throw the alignment off a little. No damage otherwise. :)
I have a Jeep and a FJ Cruiser. Both have broke on me but in both cases it was my fault for not knowing my vehicle and when to let off the throttle. My solid axle is great off roading no doubt and if I had the money and time for more off-roading and rock crawling it would be my preferred driver but for a daily driver, that I do take off roading in Utah/Colorado my FJ is more livable but still highly capable. Just wish I could see out of it better haha. Sorry about your Taco Maxx as unfortunately that's a lesson to learn from and here's to hoping you never have that expense again. I would have tried the repairs myself and saved $$$ while learning my vehicle but that's me as I like to know how it all works together.
There is an overland road from around North Bend to Ellensburg, WA and another road from Ellensburg to Malaga, WA. We’ve got some friends who will go with us in their 19 Tacoma TRD Off Road 5’ bed. Our Tacoma TRD Off Road is a 23 6’ bed. Both of our trucks are double cabs with the Premium and Technology pkgs. I’m sure that the front cameras will come in handy for our trip. Once we get to Ellensburg they’ll probably come back to Wenatchee and we will meet another friend there and take the road in North Bend. My other friend has a 23 as well, but he doesn’t have the Premium pkg so he doesn’t have a front camera. It’ll be a fun day
I'm a new sub. Thanks for the video, it was enjoyable. Planning to buy a Tacoma 4 x 4. Mine is old '98, not for overlanding but I used it for rough terrain and still survives. It has 365K miles with no major repair. Keep the good adventures!
I was going through a wheat field on a 350 Honda enduro at 30 mph when I hit the only stump in the field. I flew 25'. Broke the frame and crushed a right side exhaust. On the plus side, you weren't pulling the CanAm! 👍
Subscribed! Sorry to have that happen to your truck. I just bought 2017 trd off road and can’t imagine how that must have felt!! Ouch! However it looked like a great trail!!
soopremeteam Just a question as I’m not inclined at all to know much about these trucks but will that model be considered a Tacoma or a Hilux? I honestly don’t know the difference but would like to, thanks.
It's def. not a Tacoma, it's technically a Hilux, all over the world..but they are standing in the US of A and it's a Toyota Pickup, 'mini-truck'.. by definition. it's prob. a '84 or '85. Just called a Toyota pickup..
I really wish something like this would go on in Buffalo or some where close. These Tacoma meet ups look amazingly fun. Plus Tacoma enthusiasts are the best.
Good video, know you guys had a blast. Where you were looked pretty tame compared to where we use to ride. In the old days we rode on the power lines behind the Atlanta Falcons Training Camp in Suwanee GA. Oh man that crap was INSANE, but awesome.
I almost messed up mines too the other day and realized nothing was wrong, except i got mud everywhere, but atleast i was able to get out of the mess i was in. 😅
Nice run dude. Even the Pelfrey rig showed up. Wonder if this was before or after he pocketed all that money from people and then filed for bankruptcy without giving refunds...
yea I'm with chris.. although this video is too long and I'm almost out of dump so i never saw "the hit" but this trail doesn't look like trail damage to me.
Yup, pretty damn weak to break shit from bumping a stump. Then for it to fuck up the PS, most decent rigs worst case ya bend a rod, ya then bend it back trail side and you're good to go.
Would love to see a Tundra do this run. Never been a fan of these small pickups. It's either a Jeep or full size for me. Since I need something to pull my Jeep, Tundra it is when the redesign comes out! February can't come quick enough to see what they have done with them.
Great video! Found this while looking for 3rd gen stuff. Sub'd.It was nice seeing those stock or stock-ish trucks out wheeling. It's cool when people buy offroad trucks and don't just use them as street queens. That old Toyota sounded good, that certainly wasn't a 22R...do you know what he was running? Sorry about your truck, I hope you are able to get it repaired soon. It's a great looking truck, I gotta say these look super clean in white! I didn't notice if yours was manual or auto...if it's an auto, have you experienced the weird behavior I've been reading so much about?
I broke the Power Steering Rack on my 3rd gen 4runner . Replaced it and it's been off roading harder for the last 4 years then it ever did before. I guess the stock one that comes on these is really weak. Mine cracked right down the middle making me burn up power steering pump. Total It cost $1500 for all mine with labor. Sorry to hear man . What a bummer.
I was gonna get a tacoma but I got a Jeep JKU Rubicon my next car is definitely a taco though. Super practical and awesome trucks, basically bulletproof.
After watching I can’t wait to get the lift and new tires on my Taco and get out on the trail. Love how the stocks came out and rocked it. I’ll bet the guy with the Pro gets a pair of Rock sliders after demolishing those stock steps. Great video bummer about the damage though bro.
Just got my 2018 Hilux Diesel delivered today. I liked and subscribed. Hoping to travel up there someday and try some of those trails. It will be interesting to see how the cousin of the Tacoma holds up to them. My FJ 60 with a Vortec V8 surely could hold its own, but it is anything but stock with a 5" lift and 35's, plus center diff lock and air lockers front and rear. I will be doing some mods to my Hilux after a while. Not too many of those Tacomas looked very "stock", but maybe you were focused on the more modified rigs and the oldie but sturdy #69 ?
Darrin Jones I think we don't have the diesel hilux in Mexico just yet. But the regular gas 4x2 has a lot of potential and its very good off-road. I'm sure the 4x4 its a monster off pavement.
Good to see that a Stock Taco could make this trail ok. 8:03 I have a 2019 Taco TRD Off Road that is pretty much stock except for lighting, cosmetics, and I put some 265 75 16 BF Goodrich KO2's on it. I will most likely lift it in the future like I had my 2013 Taco SR5 which had 285 70 17 Toyo Open Country tires.
Thumbs up. I'm not sure what the point of serious off-roading is. All that specialized equipment and the vehicle still gets damaged. Hope it's not too expensive.
Nice video! I have been looking to join the adventures if allowed by off-road enthusiasts like yourselves. Any room for an F150 truck to join the convoy? Got me excited watching you guys have fun!
Whos gray DC LB 2nd gen with “Pelfreybilt off-road” along the side? Looks good and capable. I got questions? Build list? Thanks. Nice video Maxx. Sorry to hear about your rig.
Dude I think it would be a great video idea if you did a Day in a Life vid of you going to work and working on the truck or whatever an ordinary day may be for you.
very cool......I just loveed watching.. Wondering how the 3rd gen Taco auto trans would do compared with the manual ..Id love to be out there with you cowboys
I literally got a 2018 taco off road yesterday and argued with them to get me the predator bar as a throw in. I didn't like the bar that is on it now. Now I see this video of one getting ripped to pieces lol
Hello from Oregon, ever let a Gen 2 Raptor run with you? I know everyone thinks they are too wide for trails, but that trail looked doable having navigated forests in Oregon. Besides there's always desert runs in eastern Oregon to go on, or the Dunes on the coast.
I watched just cause I like watching Yotas break. Their owners are always so pompous, going on about how tough and durable they are. Yet for some reason they keep breaking. It's never a shortcoming of the magical Yota though, lol.
Hey come up north to British Columbia we'll show you what your vehicles potential is Haha I do trails like this in 2 with a '18 Tacoma (a lone sometimes)
my thought exactly. stock trucks aren't exactly like any in the video, if you wanna see a stock truck come to ARizona and I will show you mine. just be ready to winch me out of shit cause I dont got 4WD.
Max let me know next time you drive through Utah to go to Moab I’m in alpine and i want to meet you and check out your tacoma your channel is awesome i always watch your videos over and over cause there so cool
Cool to see a fellow toyota enthusiast in the pnw, where are you a firefighter at I'm assuming a pierce department due to you crossing the bridge. I'm a Emt in Bremerton maybe we have ran into each other before lol
