My travels in Europe take me to a village in Poland called Górki Wielkie. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. This settlement is far from touristic big city locations. The village has a population of 3554 inhabitants. In this video I leave my hotel room and make my way to the local polish shop, on my way as I approached the shop I met a Polish guy who told me that he was sleeping alone in a basement I offered him a beer but he was banned from entering the shop. I went inside to get myself a and him a beer and a bread roll and got a packet Polish Sweets I was recommended by a local teenager.

Nie dalej jak 5 dni temu przejazdem zatrzymałem się przy sklepie opodal tych delikatesów. Napotkałem tego wesołkowatego lekko podchmielonego npc (z foxem w kieszeni/później w ręce, czyli wierny marce) Chciał żebym zdobył dla niego papierosy. Po oddaniu zadania opowiedział mi porywająca historię o tym jak miał wybrać się na grzyby, ale z samego rana dopadł go tak przenikliwy ból zęba, że nie był w stanie zrobić nic innego jak wybrać się pod sklep. Gdybym wtedy wiedział, że spotkałem takiego celebrytę...

@@DirtySanchez943 the heck you talking bout, hes banned bcs hes doing nothing but just standing there and ask people for alcohol and cigarets. Thats why everybody is so mean to him. Its not like woman from the shop is a bad person, shes just tired of him, he most probably stinks, and he totally doesnt care about single thing like hes health, look etc. All that metters is to get free beer or some cash, he didnt even looked at the bread that Andre bought him, only waits for "Fox" which is strongest beer and probably cheapest, thats why he asked for it at the beggin of the video. Thats the world we are in, if someone is living like this homeless man its probably hes, and only hes own fault. Now, maybe that will help you to understand the situation and people reactions

Hi Andre, in respect to "seems like people are horrible to these homeless people" it stems from a problem of alcoholism in Polish society that was very present in the past. Lots of families had been affected and when people tried to help their family members with alcoholism or people within their communities, they would drag them down/be horrible to them or just basically refuse any help. So some people might often assume that a drunk is a drunk out of his own choice and it looks like they look down on them. But this isn't a rule, there are lots of Polish people who will help someone homeless, buy them food etc. Just a little perspective on a problem that I think is more complex.

😂😂😂 i know this village. That men in front of shop called "Józa" he scam people who want to buy rolls or bread for him. He want only bear or vodka and he is always drunk, one time he chased my classmate and he had to hide in his house. All village hate Mr. Józa except for rest drunkards. All in all i love this video. It show how is going life in polish small villages we do small shopping, can't speak English well, pay attention on drunk people....

Nice video. Next time in Poland visit city Zakopane, and try pierogi or zapiekanka. If you like traditions and trying traditional food, Zakopane is best idea for you. I will recommend you the restaurant "Zakopianski Bar". Greeting from Slovakia 😉

One of my closest mates, someone I served in the British Army with , who is from Jamaica, wants to visit Poland. I'd be very embarassed if he went through any racism whilst there as he has three small children. I am a Polish man but I can't say diffinitively what people would be like. He said he had abuse when he visited Hungary. Is there any advise I can give him? I know this is a heavy subject so I apologise if this subject essentailly 'triggers' any negative emotions from you.

You are so close to Ustron city or Wisla! Go and check those places, especjally mountains up there. There is a lot of hiking trials. People from different Polish cities visit it for hiking. Another city which is worth to see is Cieszyn (this one is without mountains but its very pretty city)

I’ve seen too homeless man in Kingston upon Thames in front of McDonald’s he has been banned to enter because no money and stinks and asking for pennies for food so why many people are surprised?? If you want help homeless buy them food not the money
