- I will sell the car after that comment, proceed to invite relative to use any “Mercedes bus available” in town for transportation purposes. End of sentence.
I’ve owned one for 3 years. I only recently learned that for the best 0-60 performance you should put the pedal 50% down until you hit 18mph, and then floor it. This is stated in the users manual.
I could have called you the worst dad ever, but I have no relatives at all, so who the hell am I to blame you in not giving your daughter a Bugatti Chiron🤔
That's nobody +1 ...I watched it. Didn't you see my comment about the professional painter trying to teach a guy who works on his car w/a butter knife? LOL!
It’s going to be an old port-a-potty in a field with a sink, some bread and water in the floor, an extension cord and a kitchen knife. “Yeah...’REBUILD THIS into an old age palace you cheap b@$+@rd.”
Nursing home? Nobody can afford a nursing home these days. At 9000-11000 dollars a month, any savings or investments that are available will be burned through very quickly with most exhausting an entire retirement life's savings in the first 1-4 years.
Hell, our Volt has 38 miles EV range before the range extender kicks in. Nice job Rich, the only thing I would do differently is buy a new coolant bottle and the proper plastic line fitting you scabbed together.
@@bigcountry7096 It actually might, if this uses the same liquid cooling design in the battery pack those pieces of plastic are going to get clogged up inside the cooling tubes and you'll end up with a battery failure. If that particular cooling reservoir is only for the inverter and motor then probably it's fine. Still was kind of a dumb thing to do.
I watched this video a year ago because I like the stuff you guys do. Based on this and other Spark EV videos convinced me these cars are a great intro to the EV experience for little money. I now own a 2016 for over 9mos now and love this little thing. It is a perfect errand car for old retired folk like me whilst still providing a lot of grins especially when I can leave many loud cars wondering what happened in those stop light gran prix.
now you gotta shoot a video delivering pizzas in 30 mins or less... and add a pizza launcher on that door... then also deliver a pizza to my all of our faces
@@BT_aka_PET_ROOSTER I don't really understand how getting likes on a youtube comment is so rewarding for people but yet they're too lazy to think of something with any amount of creativity or originality. I don't even know why I scroll down anymore. There's never one thing that isn't a copy paste or a quote from the video I just watched.
I worked at a Chevy dealership for several years, we had one as a chase car. It was an absolute blast to drive back and forth between auxiliary lots. I'm glad it's getting a little love. Always thought it would make a good donor drive train for an autocross ev build.
I know how my daughter must have felt/must feel when she's dealing with me and my shenanigans (I once convinced her at dusk to search for a carrot patch that I'd planted just outside the kitchedn window so I could watch her look for it in near-darkness without having to go to a different room). The sad part is that I *almost* had more sympathy for Rich's daughter than I do my own, then my "parental instincts" kicked in, and I was cheering for Rich.
I actually have the petrol version of this car in the same colour and I'd love to have had the EV version. Too bad Chevy went belly up in my country. It would have made a great city runabout with a good bit of fun thanks to the torque.
I had my spark ev for 7 months now and the torque this thing has is a best kept secret. Seeing Rich's reaction while driving it was priceless. Please make some more videos on this. I interested in some of the kids you would do with it.
Lol that's how I about my Fiat 500e. It's my daily driver, I always crack up at people's reaction when i beat them off the line. The most hilarious was beating a riced out 90s V6 mustang lol
Dude, you are HILARIOUS! the whole bit with the daughter and the keys in cars and the pizza... I was HOWLING out loud with laughter! Oh, and the rebuild of the car itself was very, very informative and enjoyable. Great stuff!
If that's what that sensor is for, it would more likely be an effort to thwart third party repairs. GM doesn't care if people get hurt or die because of the safety of their products.
Quick tip on spraying wheels. Cut a piece of card app 6in high and just longer than the circumference of the wheel, then tape it together making a 6in wall that will fit on each wheel as a barrier to stop the overspray. Will save you loads of time instead of using the masking tape.
On your next series, PLEASE do a EV conversion based on a C3 Corvette frame... OLD vs NEW style, with high tech interior and a big screen... that will be so cool...
This is my kind of EV video. I'd like to convert a Geo Metro to an EV. A Metro is lighter so the range would be greater. I'm okay with about a 100 mile range, if it will charge quickly.
I had an uncle that was an electronics whiz. In late 60s or early 70 s he built an electric car. He also took an old riding lawnmower and put robotics on it. He would sit in the picnic table and mow with a joystick. Miss him.
Use thin index cards to mask your tires when painting wheels. Just stick them in the edge between the wheel and tire. It's cheap, easy, and yields better results than tape.
Rich ❤your the best you inspired me to make my own youtube channel! I try to destroy gasoline engines by using coke as engine oil ;) i do that because iam a tesla fan boy🙌
I dont know you but that is flippin stupid!!! Yeah u have a lot of people out there that have more money than sense but you know you could do something more positive without motors right?
Rich, love my Spark EV!! Driven about 40,000 miles now, no issues! Fast changing is the bomb, full recharge in about 10 min to 80%, and 25 to full. Loads of fun to drive and QUICK!!
Slick trick to painting rims: coat the tire with a complete layer of Vaseline or other grease (bacon grease will work)😳😏 Then paint the rims. When the paint dries, simply wipe the grease off, taking the overspray with it..then use tire cleaner to finish the job... Youre welcome. 😊😎
