I built a 62 MAS Seiko for £100 from AliExpress 

Haha! Yes I’m a huge beginner. I think the nail clippers trim the dial frets so much better than snips as it’s really flush. I am deffinately going to get a movement holder however. I have uploaded another video if you don’t mind taking a look at that one

You can call it that. I would call it a homage / replica. I wouldn’t be prepared to spend the money on the genuine vintage watch. But I really like it and want to wear it. This watch has a heavy high quality feel to it

No, in actual fact, he did not. Here's a bit of education for your meant-to-imply-wrongdoing comment. Seiko does not make this product, meaning, they do not produce a case with those dimensions, the original 62mas (6217-8001), SLA and SPB as well as the current releases and any of the re-issues, the watch is thinner, the dial sits closer to the glass, because again, the dimensions are all different. Anyone that owns or has worn a real SLA, SPB etc will know that it is not a genuine Seiko 62mas-family watch. That's the first thing. The second part of the whole "OMG!! A homage or clone watch!!!" is, it's only ever a bad thing to own a self-built watch or a homage watch, IF you attempt to sell it as a genuine, brand-built watch. That's it- period, end of story. Is that a "counterfeit" dial? again, not really if you think about it for more than a second, there will either be some minor imperfection with it, in the case of a "factory second" dial, (or more likely, left the Seiko factory in someone's lunchbox ;) ) or there will be some other error on the dial if its AliExpress seller-made, the point is, they are never 100% correct, therefore, not "counterfeit" Close, but no cigar. Also, bear in mind especially with Seiko, they literally make millions of watches a year, they're going to be fine with someone's "almost, but not quite exact-ish" tribute watch using (haha) genuine Seiko movement and parts (see? they still win). I've made dozens of Seiko-powered 'Seiko' dive watches, 62mas's, Cap't Williards, Seiko-xplorer's, etc. The bottomline is, its not a counterfeit because you cannot find this product in any current or past Seiko catalog. And Gorgeous watch man! Fantastic job, enjoy it!
