ABOUT: The Guild 3
We find ourselves in middle Europe of the year 1400. The dark middle ages, once dominated through nobles and clergy, ends and a new era begins: the age of the free cities of trading and of the free mind!
In The Guild 3 you create a family dynasty which can last for centuries. While the world around you and your dynasty rearrange itself again and again - all non-player figures make their own decisions - you have to prove your skills in handicrafts and trading, at social occasion and finally in politics and in malicious intrigues.
The Guild 3 is a unique mixture of economic simulation, strategy game, historical life simulation and role playing game in real time 3D, with atmospheric voice recording and medieval soundtrack.
The game is currently in Early Access and therefore in development. It will be regularly updated, so if you are looking for information regarding the current state please check-out the game's community hub and latest patch notes.
Upon release of the game you will be able to experience ...
... historical medieval cities and their surroundings located in central and northern Europe. Every city fully supports all 4 seasons and a day/night cycle.

Funny thing is, this is pretty much how a thief guild would operate. The whole point of having a guild is that you can enforce a monopoly on your trade within a given city. So, in this case, only those working for the Provolones are allowed to commit crimes. The only trick is finding a way to enforce it legally. I think the only other thief guild that gets this right (as in, not _just_ being an organized crime family) is the one from Terry Pratchett's Discworld books: The guild thieves are legally allowed to steal a certain amount as long as they pay their taxes, and meanwhile helps keep the number of non-guild crime to a minimum. The idea being that if you're going to have crimes regardless, they may as well be official crimes that the government has some control over.

If he had the way to, he would own the supreme court, the presidency and be the speaker of the house (legelative branch) at the same time. Then make himself have enough power to stay in office and use government money for himself. Basically make a USA North Korea, a dictator ship that prevents all competition. He would take away the bill of rights. Then he would go to take over the world. Gray is a monster that we have to appease with veiws or else he will destroy the world.

One of my all time favourite game was the guild 2. One of the strategy I use to run was a church for my main guy and thieves guild for the wife. Every day at mid day I send my priest out to the market and preach the good word, while my thieves relieves the prishioners off their worldly belongings.

As ridiculous as it seems, this playthrough is 100% historically accurate. Johnathan Wild served as the thief taker general in London. He ran an extortion / theft gang, while arresting rival gang members for the reward money.

Heres a tactic that worked in guild2: Early game place hookers in front of city hall. Theres a good chance they will stall other factions as they try to enter for the city meetings. 2 or 3 hookers in the right spots (a small triangle) works wonders for early city positions. And dont forget that inbreeding rules

Gray you should do an episode of this game where your *goal is to breed a superior breed of human* Where you get the best fertility and excellent genes for you and hunt a wife with excellent genes. Then breed and take control of your children finding a spouse with high genes, rinse and repeat over and over until you break the game with God like characters.

This is why the Mafia was called "a state within the state"--a monopoly on violence and crime is reserved by the state. Essentially, the state was a Mafia that became accepted as normative, while the Mafia is a new, upstart state which performs retail what the state does wholesale.
