Nice attention to detail. Not a lot of resource material to work with on that guitar but you did a respectable job recreating what was shown and extrapolating the rest. If I was to be critical of anything, I'd say it could use a BIT more "zazz."
The nitro will eventually sink into the grain and crack, which will probably add to the effect! I built a Harley Benton kit guitar that wasn't that bad but the Wilkinson kits I have built from StewMac have been just awesome!
Great job on the relicing! I saw a video where someone did a replica of James Hetfield's white V from the Ride the Lightning era. That guitar was pretty beat up.
That turned out pretty good man! Quick question, is there a reason you didn’t use a primer? Just wondering if I should use a primer for my relic job or will be it a pain in the ass to sand through when relicing it?
I'm not a fan of relic'd guitars but this looks pretty cool - just curious, how does it play now? I recently bought a Bex Gears V kit and the quality is superb - except for the hardware and pickups lol - I upgraded everything including the nut with a Tusq XL, Gotoh locking tuners, a heavier bridge and a Gibson TP-6 tailpiece and EMG pickups - it's a great guitar and fun to play so I hope you take the time and little extra $ to enjoy that V especially after all the work you put into it - enjoy!
