It seems multiplayer simplifies the velocity vector. So instead of sending you up and over the half pipe it drops you back on top. Thus it becomes a question of tricking the game to push you on a slightly more forward trajectory, and I don't think flipping did anything useful.
If the cars had suspension you would've been able to do a trick with your brakes. I also see a skip which is to take off the side of the track and fly above the last jump, but it's probably way too risky
I actually fixed the Multiplayer physics being different from singleplayer. Or at least it should be fixed based on our testing. I think the issue is the new arms up physics :D For me the jump worked perfectly when I didn't put my arms up.
What's the discussion about making these decisions? You guys have already have a big catalog of tracks, and records for those tracks. The changes you're talking about seem to change the way old tracks are experienced and their scores. Is it like "Early access bitches! Yolo!"? For that matter will all tracks and scores be cleared at the end of early access to start clean for release?
@@plasticfrank There is currently no official world record tracking. There will probably come an official way for world records at some point, and when that point comes there will be more consideration to not do physics changes. But right now, yes. We are early access and making the game feel better and make it more performant is more important than keeping third party records.
Reminder from a past dev discussion in a video. A track your wheels stick to regardless of orientation. Aka Glue or Magnet track. Was discussed as a means to reduce Fan Spam for inverted track and a feasible track type based on the current mechanics. I would also like a Speed track, as opposed to boosters. Friction is reversed causing slow gradual acceleration instead of needing to use boosters, such that I could use a track to sustain speed going up a low gradient instead of decelerating as normal or using scattered boosters, a more subtle effect which relies more on your incoming speed than connecting the dots.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 There is no friction while the car is going straight. Regardless, what you are describing is an actual car...which defeats the purpose of making this a soapbox racing game.
7:40 I was not upset last time Kosmo haha. Just sharing some info is all no worries :). I like your synthwave vibe on this track btw. Also goes well with your music.
To be honest, I don't like racing games that much, but i totally dig the vibes of you all playing together. 100% pure Multiplayer fun! I just wished we could have that in Scrapmechanic… 😭😢😭😥😭😥😭
I love the second checkpoint section, you can even see if you're going faster or slower compared to your previous run by looking at the time splits changing
I have 2 ideas for track themes. Nesting doll: Make 5 layers (or more) each layer having a unique track then the last that progresses inward or outward between layers. Perplexus: Build a track in a sphere that has challenging track sections and concepts. Each section must be color coated to be separated as a single section. The idea is based on the Perplexus puzzles. (Both themes are somewhat the same. Make crazy tracks that get progressively harder or more challenging and is kinda like a puzzle.)
actually, before it was adopted by the NHL, that clappy bit was the introduction to a John Fogerty song called "Centerfield", which was about famous center fielders in baseball.
when i heard the "beat" you made for the first time i audibly wheezed, i did not expect that, i'm not really into sports but i know that beat very well and i didn't know it was a worldwide thing as here in poland football fans also do it
Here are the scores for all your challange tracks . Scores are calculated as 4 points for 1#, 3 for 2# 2 for 3# and 1 for 4-10# Players Podiums Score Kosmonaut 15 / 28 55 / 112 KAN 10 / 28 43 / 112 Dapper 1 / 28 11 / 112
the end is not a big problem, move the finish ramp a lil bit closer instead of having the lip and it's solved. 13:50 - i just got here so no, plz don't fix, let the front flip be required
it kinda feels like a speedtest/wall the second time (the first time you got it clean) you had about 5 more speed than all the other attempts a true fullspeed track to a T i suppose :O
I’ve been keeping track of all the 15 minutes zeepkist tracks and the positions of the used to be 3 now 4 of you on each other’s tracks and put it in a spreadsheet. Gave points for placing 10th to 1st. If anyone would want to see it and how everyone is doing reply to this comment and I will find a way for you to get it.
Wait what who the heck said it's ignorant to assume everyone with epilepsy has seizures? WTF. No one assumed that, no one claimed that and no one wanted to do anything bad to anyone with putting a seizure warning. TF is wrong with people? Awesome looking track btw.👌
Wait a sec. It’s not insensitive to assume every epileptic has seizures. People are just dying for attention and will reee at anything. Just ignore the idiots.
7:40 Not everyone who is epileptic is photosensitive, but many are, and I'm sure they appreciate the warning. The last thing I want is for my partner (who is photosensitive) to get a seizure because I wanted us to watch a RU-vid video together.
Kosmo, you becoming uber woke? Are you realizing like a lot of other people how dumb over sensitivity towards other people's fee-fees are and how being 100,000,000,000,000,000% inclusive simultaneously makes you just as inversely exclusive? How no matter how much you try to cater to snowflakes and SJW's you'll never appease their vision of inclusion even if you become extreme like them? Sucks, doesn't it. Anyways, you should take that as inspiration for your next track and make a "Full-Karen" track. What's a "Full-Karen" track? The kind of track that would have every racer demanding to talk to the track builder about one thing or another. The track pieces aren't perfectly aligned. That friekendel spawner isn't doing any thing besides spawning them outside the course. That tree is right in the middle of this boulder that's in the middle of this jump! Those boosters are too weak and are off at weird angles! This start is made of ice! I DEMAND TO SPEAK AT THE TRACK CREATOR!!!! I guess other terms for this kind of tracks would be Annoying Tracks or, a "Dapper Special+". The course isn't super difficult, there's just super annoying things that make the track nag at every part of the human psyche.
