I built a new storage system! - Episode 19 - Minecraft Modded (Vault Hunters) Iskall gets in to his first few mods, and use the Drawer mod (which is amazing) to make a brand new mega storage system (of doom)

I really appreciate the tutorials honestly. I’m a modded Minecraft noob and the complex storage mods/anything that requires technical knowledge is a lot for me. You explain it in a way that makes sense and I don’t feel stupid watching! 😂

Depending on what modded launcher you use, FTB Academy is REALLY helpful(if you don't mind reading that is) for learning mods, there's also an FTB University for when you're more confident and want to move FURTHER into mods than Academy goes! Both are on the FTB launcher for sure not sure if you can find them on other launchers! I have been playing Academy because I USED to play a LOT of modded(almost exclusively) but after Microsoft bought Mojang and we started getting crazy update after crazy update I didn't feel the need to play modded(too much at least, there are some "quality of life" mods that will ALWAYS be nice to have)!

Vault Hunters is currently my favourite series on RU-vid, and it amazes me that we're only just leaving the beginning!?! As someone's who currently going through a pretty tough part of their lives, I really enjoy having a series that constantly surprises me and makes me laugh. Why don’t you put iron blocks and red stone blocks in the drawers. It would save a lot of space and diamonds. Just a thought. Or maybe compressed blocks just to really get maximum storage space.

Mostly because he may always have items in multiples of 9. Like if you have 76 blocks and 4 ingots that gets annoying to keep up with, since rn he doesn’t have compacting drawers

Hey iskall remember that you can create “compacting drawers” which automatically compress items when stored, and they also will let you take out “uncompacted” versions of the items (eg storing iron in a compacting drawer lets you take out blocks, ingots, and nuggets)

I love this series. It’s probably the best series I’ve seen on this channel, partially because I’ve never seen the mod pack before, so it’s all new, but also because Iskall gets so excited to show off what he’s done. I don’t think Hermitcraft could ever compete with this for me

Honestly this is my favorite modded series ever. You did such an omega job explaining stuff at the begining and you always explain new stuff when it comes up. I felt so lost in most other modded series because maybe I missed one episode. But this one is just fun and easy to follow. I love it! Keep it up!

With how rare the... well rare gems are, it seems like a huge kick in the nuts to then have another factor of RNG layered on top. I know smelting the gems guarantees 1, but with how many progression requires... thats a really HUGE bottleneck of resources. I'd remove the zero chance entirely from mining them and just let the original spawn chance of the ore be what gates progression. That's got to get infuriating after a good while.

That's what I've been thinking as well. Remove the 0 drop chance and adjust (lower) the rest of rates so you still average the same amount of gems per block

Once you get to certain milestones in the pack, it gets MUCH easier and faster to get them. The first few pogs are the hardest, but the mods allow you to get things which make your vault runs more efficient, which in turn nets you a lot more loot. Also, you can start target farming ores using Catalysts which make a heck of a difference.

It's a good suggestion. Still i guess thats part of the game aswell, you start out completely vanilla and slowly work your way to unlocking vaults. As you progress into the vaults you get to higher levels and more resources. Iskall is still in the early game of vault hunters here and the pack is made so that you cannot just make every OP modded farm or machine immediatly. I probably only started getting my storage system going around lvl 50-60ish. Even though it sounds like a easy thing to add, it would change the progression speed of the entire game. So it probably needs some more thinking through.

I would say they complement each other. I don’t think one is better then another But together they make an ultimate storage coz you can connect drawers to it.

You should look into finding ancient tomes, they give you an extra level to most vanilla enchantments including fortune and unbreaking!

Gonna be completely honest chief. Drawers is making me consider checking this mod pack out. Came into a stream a long time ago and it was too chaotic for me. Then you started this series and I decided to watch just to get a more oderly impression. And now it is getting tempting. It's hard resisting at this point.

I’ve been playing around with modded Minecraft since the old Tekkit days, and I gotta say this has got to be one of the coolest packs out there. I love all the exploration and the integration of the mods as you go. The skill tree really lets you feel like you’re getting more powerful as you go too. I’m really enjoying the mod pack, and well done on the series too.

I started playing vault hunters, and died to an explosive trap below lvl 25, and lost all my gear D: I was discouraged, but next western room I had, I managed to survive another explosive trap, and multiple explosive arrow skeletons. You're damn right I looted most of the room, and it was a very proud moment.

The main thing I worry about when it comes to the modded elements of this series, is the 'understanding' of it all. Your explanations for the drawers was pretty good, and I hope that you continue to go so 'in-depth' on explaining the modded elements that are yet to arrive. Better to 'over-explain' something, than to assume that people will easily understand it I guess.

At first i was afraid you were gonna discontinue the series once hermitcraft started, but im very happy that you didn't. The server I'm on is running this modpack, however I cannot run vaults for numerous reasons so my job is to gather resources for everyone else. It's actually quite fun for me to just mine ores and stuff all day, I got vein miner and some other skills to help and the others gave me some vault crates so I can bring a load more back with me. They also occasionally give me vault stuff so I can make things to help them out even more, such as burgers and cookies, vault gems etc, the admin even spawned me in some knowledge stars to help me get started (because lets face it, I can't get them any other way and nobody is going to give me knowledge stars) and so I could get some mods to continue being useful.

I think it would be cool to get some information after getting out the vault. Maybe as you exit the portal you get a written book with some stats. It would help you keeping track of what you did: mobs killed, number of chests looted, gear upgrades etc

Just had a brainwave, you should use one shroom island as your base island and the second as a “vaultar island” where you have the vaultar and all the farms you need for vaultar items, and then connect the two islands with waystones.

A quick note about storage drawers is that it's not a typical 'taxicab' radius. The drawer controller can control a cube of dimensions 25x25x25, centered on the controller, with trims being able to take the place of any drawer in this cube. Compacting Drawers have integration with Compressed blocks, and you can use them to further improve the efficiency of storing any compressible block (like diamonds). When integrating with other mods, like refined storage, the mods will read the block as if it contains each item (diamonds, diamond blocks, and compressed diamond bocks).

idk how expensive they are in this pack but i highly recommend using the compacting drawers, they can help cut down on how many storage upgrades you have to use, especially for stuff like iron and redstone

My friend and I have made a storage system using drawers and create mechanical arms with a deposit box that puts items on a conveyor. The arms put items into the appropriate drawer. Super neat looking and fun

There should really be a vault completion summary screen which tells you time completed, gear upgrades, special items obtained, etc. Maybe with some individual fanfare for certain accomplishments to add to the drama of a successful vault run.

You can get fortune 5 on a piece of gear with 2 fortune 4s wich when used with the paxel upgrade and vein miner can lead to fortune 8. And it may even go higher

Thanks so much for explaining the storage mod in good detail! Im currently progressing through a VH world. Not only is this my first go at VH it is also my first time playing modded MC as I have always felt modded very confusing. I chose VH as my first try due to how simple you have laid out the pack. I lost my first world to corruption and today I run my first vault of my 2nd world and hope to start using some mods soon! Thanks again Iskall you're pack is amazing and so are you!!!

did you watch foolcraft? they did a hermit modded series and it was amazing, specially bdubs and scar getting crazy with "chisel an bits"

I think everything in vault hunters being very expensive is a good thing, because it makes advancing and crafting items so much more satisfying than if it were easier
