This part four of a four part series in which i attempt to build a fancy epoxy slab table in my garage with fairly basic woodworking tools, and no experience building a table, let alone a 10 foot conference table. in this video i spend a ridiculous amount of time sanding the table, applied a finish to the bottom of table, put a roundover on all the square edges of the slab, and filled in little gaps and cracks with CA glue. then, i used totalboats tabletop epoxy to finish the top of the table, and then packed it up to deliver and install it. this project took way longer than i expected and was a lot more of a challenge than i was hoping for, but i finished it and I am glad i did it. Please stay with it! I subscribe to at least 100 woodworking channels and you’re one of my favorites. You prove in so many different ways not to take yourself so seriously. And we all love your sense of humor. My mother always used to say: The older you get, the better you get, unless you’re a banana. Oh…and there’s nothing wrong with selling furniture for a living, as long as it’s not yours.

Very Very Nice Hey I need to say the tape we use is the silver metal duck tape that would of stop your leak but I'm sure you probably didn't have it laying around. And I have been waiting for more video's. I think your having a hard time getting people to see your videos because they want to see more often. You are a GREAT guy to see. A real hoot! I hope what ever you do in life your profitable and enjoy yourself! I hope you keep on woodworking! YOUR VERY GOOD AT IT!!!

Thanks! It was definitely out of my comfort zone, especially given how much the slab/epoxy/legs costed and how much time I put into it, but in the end I'm really glad I did it!

Really fantastic! Way to stick with this. Looks awesome. I didn't catch who you delivered this to, but I was wondering what their response was to the finished product. Anyway, you should be proud. You're gonna construct some great pieces down the road and you'll look back and feel real good about the rewards from your hard work. Good job!

It was for a local real estate office, and I believe that they were quite pleased with the final product. I've heard rumors about the table being bragged about to those that have entered the office, but have not witnessed that first hand haha. Came out great! I am a little surprised how well the epoxy top coat came out. Usually need a couple of seal coats before the flood coat. The seal coats are 1 ounce per square foot and spread out with a squeegee. 220 sanded between and before flood coat, which is 3 ounces per square foot and spread with a 1/8 inch square notched trowel. Will say your way worked well, but I don't think I'd try it again 😊. And yes the top coat epoxy is thicker. I don't understand all that chemical stuff, that's why it doesn't run right off the surface and sets up quicker than deep pour. But it doesn't flow into cracks and holes as well and if poured too thick will get way too hot and crack and smoke. Oh, and about the flipping the table by yourself and all the sanding, I'm by myself most of the time and I'm 67. So toughen up sonny and hang in there 😂. Again great job, don't give up 👍
