The fish you caught was a “flier sunfish”, it’s a sunfish that’s related to crappie. They are native to South Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. They eat insects and live in low oxygenated, slow pools in creeks and typically grow from 4-7 inches in length at adulthood. Nice fish man ❤

Orangespotted Sunfish is the one I'm after. They are a bluegill hybrid. You can search up a picture of them they are really bright and beautiful. However hard to catch since they are so bright they are easy to spot and often eaten by other fish 😔. Really cool looking fish though.

First fish was on a streched fly fishing rig on a boat. Also you say big lures for bass fishing. Freshwater pike fishing and you are looking at baits weighing at over 4 oz sometimes. Would love to show you some time.

I've caught tons of fish this year my biggest bass being a 2.58 lb all of them on a wacky rig, my freind who has never gone bass fishing and we got 3 fish I caught 1 he reeled in 2. over all has been a really good year so far, and i also get to fish my first tormanet ever so really exited about that. overall it's been a good year.

This year I really want to catch a sea bass, like a spotted bass or sand bass, they are a pretty common catch here but ive never caught a sea bass as i am new to fishing but I hope I can get one this year!

I think this year is the year that a catch a small mouth bass wich in South Africa is nearly impossible to do. I only know of one pond in South Africa that you can catch them and it is super pressured.
