i built an entire sims house without using ANY CHEATS 

It feels like building with cheats should be the default, and then you can enable a simple mode which is the current default. Like my wife played sims 4 again for the first time in years because she saw me watching a video where someone was building with cheats and it finally made so many ideas doable for her.

for real!! I often think about how she manages to stream DAILY, post videos DAILY and still have special occasions like 24 hour streams and stuff like that.

I’m pretty sure she pre-records some videos. But that still takes time, it’s impressive. She’s very hard working ❤️

I don’t know she does it. I would be so exhausted I’d shut down for a couple of days. Hope she gets the break she deserves.

In the end she says she's taking the weekend off to decompress and that this is a pre-recorded video, so don't worry she's getting the rest she deserves ❤

I know that she recorded a lot of videos wayyyy ahead of time so she could still post daily during her charity month. But that's still so wild! It means she was probably filming multiple videos a day for several days! She absolutely deserves this break.

Honestly you could find the majority of cheats on the actual Sims s page. They give out all the cheats

Most commonly used/known cheats are bb.moveobjects, testingcheats true/false (on/off), bb.ignoregameplayunlocksuntitlement, bb.showhiddenobjects, and bb.showliveeditobjects. You don’t need to turn on the sims 3 camera to alt place items. However, that camera setting is used for freely rotating things. Shift or FN+F5 on a keyboard turns on quarter tile placement. Ctrl+5 isn’t locked behind bb.moveobjects; it even says so in the flooring description. That’s for triangular flooring. It also halves the cost of the tile. There’s an apartment in San Myshuno that has tile in the kitchen with a triangular edge. That’s all I can remember right now because I’m tired.

It's a major design flaw. Also most computer games don't just tell you the keys, they let you change them. Not allowing people change the keybinds is an accessibility issue for most games. Another accessibility issue is there's inadequate visual cues for a lot of gameplay events. Like someone at the door, if you're on the other side of the house, you don't always hear the knock, but if you're not looking and deaf, you'll almost never hear it. There should be an option to turn on a notification that will popup and say "someone is at the door", same thing for when the sound plays when someone is at 0 of a need. There's all these different sounds, but a deaf person will miss them. Not to mention a notification if a baby is crying. Not game breaking per se, but it would be helpful.

I wish someone would do that for console players! I play on PS5. I can't do things like 'free rotate' or 'extend one side of a roof only. We also don't have access to mods, which makes sense because it's console, not computer.

that's weird, usually the ladder switches automatically to the other side. plus without moveobjects everything should be functional by default, that's the whole point of it. have you downloaded and tested the build already? would love to know if it actually works or not

You would probably have to manually edit the bunk bed yourself. I’m mildly annoyed that Kayla didn’t notice that

@@kapsican I believe you can turn that automation off. Like with counters. I wouldn't be surprised if she just has it off.

​@@kapsicanOh I didn't know it switched automatically! I never use the default with the ladders on both sides, so I always pick the version with the ladder on the correct side manually haha

I just found out that there is a tree with the string lights in the cottage living debug!! If you have the ability to use debug then select cottage living debug only and you should see both the tree and the string lights that fit on the tree perfectly!! Definitely recommend it as they light up at night and are adorable. Hope that helps atleast a bit even if it’s not the same one.

I'm also on console, but no way I would build without bb.moveobjects and free placement lmao

Oh afaik you can use cheats on consoles (it just locks you out of achievements/trophies if you do so lol) I'd find a guide online but I think you just hold down all four triggers (may be diff based on xbox vs ps I'm not sure) :]

Update to myself: TIL that you can switch cameras from the upper left corner and I don't have to switch it back and forth in the settings. So now I have Freed the Rotation on my sims stuff!

She did that for her Snowy Escape builds a couple weeks ago!

You just press down all four shoulder buttons on your controller (L1 + L2 + R1 + R2) at the same time to bring up the cheats menu. Then you can type in the regular cheats. Be warned, activating cheats will turn off your ability to earn trophies. I don’t care about them, but I know some people really like earning the trophies for all the games they play on PS4.
