Join me as I walk you through the assembly and testing of this single-board computer, powered by the classic Intel 8085 processor. I’ll also discuss the fascinating history and rivalry between the Intel 8085 and the Zilog Z80 processors.
After building the SBC, I had a blast writing a Mandelbrot set program in QBasic on my PC, then transferring it to the 8085 SBC using PuTTY-Extra for terminal emulation and file transfer via XMODEM. Watch as the Mandelbrot set renders in an impressive sped-up sequence!
