us in 2070 trying to remember our minecraft worlds

Stage 1 - You feel as though you're in some sort of ballroom or 1920s bar, with men playing happily on the stage as the people nearby danced to it. It's some pretty good dunes, although you feel like this is getting a little strange. Stage 2 - You feel a sense of sadness and much more despair than the first stage, the library indicating the memories slowly fading and the twisted hallway is your motivation to keep going. Stage 3 - Vines on the wall indicating the picture on the album. The room is empty, meaning that it's difficult to remember songs back when you were listening to the first stage. You feel somewhat numb and sad knowing the protagonist has made it halfway, but you keep on going Stage 4 - Wandering around grey halls indicating the second stage, but in a much more.. violent and forgetful manner. It's a straight walk towards the end. You don't even know what you're listening to at this point. Stage 5 - Stage 5 is... bizarre. It's similiar to stage 4, but much more "colorful and cheerful". There are dark spots representing how dull you felt, the building slowly twists to insanity indicated by the colorful blocks all over you, and you generally feel like you don't know where or when the end strikes. The bed might represent the first bliss state, "Was it a dream?". Stage 6 - This stage represents the end. More hallways, but this time they're much tighter, more hollow, and overall unsettling. The path to darkness represents death.

You perfectly captured the horror I felt listening to this. Not knowing where I was, thinking when it was going to end, which way was front and which way was back...I actually got jumpscared by the bat AAAAA

the stage 4 part made me feel anxious cuz of how you look back repeatingly thinking there is something or someone behind you or jumpscaring you

I love how the books are too high to reach in the 2nd stage, and there’s only one bookshelf in the third.

I like how the bedroom gets progressively more claustrophobic as the stages progress, as if the walls are closing in on you

You can't sleep now, there are monsters nearby... ...in your head.

I always imagined this project as some sort of water ride, you’re put inside a protective little bubble and flung into a shoot which takes you into a dark inclosed area. As you go on, you come across more of those little areas as they get more twisted. The music starts effecting you to and you find it hard to speak and move around inside your protective little bubble. Eventually, you’re shot out into a massive white void with hypnotised people and weird structures, you’re able to leave the bubble now. You follow the people into a dark cavern with split paths and shadows of the fallen. If you explore enough, you’ll find an escalator which takes you and the other person to the mountain peak. Here you watch as there soul leaves there body knowing there’s nothing you can do to help.

At the last part when you entered into the void, all I can see was my reflection on the screen and that made me felt even more to this than it should have like wow

Oh, this is haunting... I love the whole library wall reduced to a single bookshelf block, like a physical representation of one's memories being obscured. I also made a Minecraft build based on EaTEoT, WHILE I was listening to it for the first time, tho mine was a LOT more abstract...

Reminds me of the VRChat world someone made based on this album, I love the concept

I was amazed at how much it resembles what my mind figured. I had a dream after hearing the album for the first time, where Stage 1 was playing. It was a medium-sized room, red in color, and only a very dim yellow light bulb illuminated and let me see how full it was with a thousand nonsense objects, belongings of many people. There were upper shelves, where I saw real human torsos of people over 70 years old, neatly assembled, pale, perfectly dressed and combed, but there was nothing else, as if they were decorations (In case I wasn't clear, they were dead). That place gave me peace, despite the scary situation, because I knew that my goal there was to clean that place, so I collected glasses, unparalleled gloves, sewing needles, combs, ties. As if I had to once again order the memories of the bodies present in front of me. In the end, I would take the torsos very carefully and put them in coffins / boxes where they fit perfectly, and put them outside that room that was in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, waiting for them to "come" to pick them up. Nice work!

This is what you get for intuition, and what a mysterious and fun deal it is. Ｎｏｉｃｅ

This is so cool, by the end I feel like I can barely remember the first rooms. And even your movements are perfectly calculated. You were looking back down the hallways in earlier stages, but stopped over time

That building, its like his mind. 0:29 - In this part, we can see like an infinite amount of books(Memories), but he cant reach every book, like, he know the books are there, but he cant simply reach them. Like a burning memory. 01:19 - Now he cant even remember what was the place of the objects, or the size of the room. 01:36 - The books(Memories) dissapeared, he cant remember his past, only a tiny, tiny amout of books is there. 01:54 - The memory of his bedrooms fades away. 02:07 - He dosn't remember where he is, or even how he got there, he is scared to continue walking, 02:46 - Again, the memory keeps fading away. 03:01 - Every last memory he have, everything is cufusing, and disturbing for him. 03:35 - Everything turns into a cycle, and repeats, repeats, repeats... 04:24 - And then... when he cant even remember anything... its time to go. I dont know if im right, its just a theory.

Underated project

I’ve heard It’s Just a Burning Memory so much it’s not even giving me the chills. It just loses its magic too soon.

They all felt so isolating. I love it….and hate it, at the same time.

It sort of goes from a ballroom, then to a hospital, then a blurry hospital, then finally just one long tight hallway.

Not exactly the Overlook Hotel from the Shining, but the atmosphere is somewhat like.

It always ends with the white room. Then a void.

For stage 4 you should've had random tones of grey bigger and smaller hall ways and like 30 exits that lead nowhere and you should've included a end 6 minutes of the song but over all really good

2:38 need an extra layer of blocks on the outside to stop that layer of lightbleed in the corners :) I've been using optifine with shader packs since I had a 750ti 😂 You can also add that extra layer as colored glass and it'll make that lightbleed colored, I could see that being a neato feature in future videos :0

How it feels for me: Stage 1: A normal house but with no other people. Stage 2: A mildly dirty house but the floors are a bit dirty and the furniture is a bit worn out. Stage 3: A pretty dirty house with furniture that is even more worn out and peeling wallpaper. Stage 4: A really dirty house infested with cockroaches and rats. The furniture has been removed completely and there are holes in the walls. Stage 5: A crumbling house with even bigger holes in the walls and cracks on the windows. Chunks of the ceiling may fall down at any moment. The walls have moss growing on them and the floors have mushrooms and weeds growing on them. Stage 6: Some ruins covered in dirt, overgrown with weeds and fungus, and crawling with thousands of rats, cockroaches, and earthworms. Everything that was once here is now reduced to rubble.

Why is the grainy quality just so... appropriate?
