True authenticity is in itself marketable right now. People are oversaturated with brands that try their best to look close and cool. Success is what you decide it is, and I admire your courage you've had all these years to make the leap and fight for your dreams.
Reminds me of Gilberts advice from Big Magic. There's no reason to be hurting for your art, your passion. You can support yourself comfortably with your job as a nurse, freeing you to pursue what you love to do. I hate that it's also become a part of our culture to make money off of our art, our hobbies. The hustle/gig culture is not a great way to a good life balance, and as you've experienced, can really sap the passion out of doing what you love. Glad Slik isn't going away though! 🖤
Thank you Fil! I do love that book and there is some parallels with Gilbert’s & Rubins books. I agree with your sentiments, and taking a job that supports Slik will ultimately create the most pure form of it! I already have some videos in the pipeline, so it’s wonderful to know my creativity hasn’t gone away. Thank you for supporting me in every iteration
