I remember the sleeping one XD I loved how mario used to talk in his sleep,it's sad they got rid of that in later games cause I always found it extremely funny
7:50 This only works in the Japan-exclusive "Shindou" or Rumble Pak Version. It also works on Super Mario 3D All-Stars because they used that version for the port.
Not really a myth but a fun thing you can do is die and fall into a cannon and you can shoot the cannon while dead. You can't collect stars or coins though and you die as soon as you land on the ground. An easy place to do it is in the wet dry world's cannon by aiming all the way left and up. You'll bonk off the wall, land next to the cannon taking damage and then fall back into the cannon.
hanging from the first bridge in Bob-Omb Battlefield was literally one of the first things i learned about SM64...you can even 'pop up' on Top of the bridge, if you move over to the Wall underneath before releasing A
12:09 I did it in a livestream, too. You should mention that Yoshi will only be here if you have 120 Stars. Before that you will only find the few one-up-mushrooms lying around.
I was thinking about this channel recently and wondered how I haven't heard anything from it, it's weird how you havent said a thing about Mario Bros Wonder, you should be making like tons of videos about it, to get more views and whatnot
tbh been busy with tears of the kingdom, but i do wanna cover wonder because it looks SICK, but i hate the whole news cycle thing so when the game comes out be on the look out ;) i wanna do myth busting videos on the game
i get that, and so we will experiment more, sure more totk myth busting will come due to the massive demand (and this video didnt do good at all sadge), but i got another sm64 in the pipeline as well as mario kart 8 and smash bros ultimate
@@drwilyI also have 2 myths: 1. One of the podests in the final Bowser level before the Pipe has a hieroglyph of the Super Mario Bros Bowser fight 2. The Penguin who you race becomes fat when you collected all Stars
@@falk2024 “pillars”. Not “podests”. Bowser in the Sky has pillars before reaching the pipe. It’s the field with an opposing wind plus 3 goombas right? Because I’m talking about that one.
@@drwily im sad too! it was really good. tho im not too surprised as it is a pretty old game and most people probably feel like they know all there is to know about it. i didnt know about the butterflies!
I think that when I was playing this game at a friend's house, that friend suggested that I could race with something else besides the penguin. But I've played this game plenty of times and the only thing I ever raced on the slide was the penguin. I am not sure where they got the idea of racing something else. What else could you race?
I can't remember the requirements, but you can re-race him by going back to that level later on and he is very fat... maybe that's what they were referring to? I think you had to either beat Bowser (like the last level), get every star in that stage, or get every star in the game to do it, but if you go back to the level and the slide, he'll show up, actually comment that he might have let himself go a bit, and accept your challenge for another race. He doesn't go much faster, but it is really hard to get past him if he gets ahead of you since he takes up so much of the area. This also might be specific to the DS version, but I don't think it is.
12:10 yoshi is not there unless you have 120 stars so you will just get the three lying around, also you might want to check for version differences as hitting both shoulder buttons on the title screen for an easter egg cannot be done on early versions of the game and because the version with that easter egg patched the bLJ most people don't use it and might be confuse
@Dr.Wily: You miss something Can koopa the quick be kill, the answer is Yes, but not when he looks normal size, if he look tiny then it is the only time you can kill koopa the quick, he as a shell but when you kill him he does not leave a shell, so that is how you can tell you kill koopa the quick, in Tiny huge island, when you are in the tiny version go to the place where koopa the quick is with any star you will see him training. You can only race him in tiny huge island in Star 3 in huge island, if you go too fast while raceing koopa the quick he can sometimes fall of the map, and some people mind count this as killing koopa the quick, but not really because he continous running on the death barrier trying to get back-up on the track, but he can't since they are no solid wall to help him climb when koopa the quick fall of the map even thought you win, you will not get a power star from him since he can't finish the race.
I think you’re one of those whom I called “foolish” earlier and even said it’s most concerning. A Koopa Interactive NPC is not the same as a Koopa Enemy! Also Tiny Huge Island?? Really? You can run into a goomba and take damage but the goomba dies anyways. Same with the koopa. When you’re huge only. When you’re tiny, the huge goombas behave like their 2D versions. Get your facts straight. Kill the guy and you won’t get the star. You’re better off exiting the course and respawning back in.
Make sure that you go back to my tears of the kingdom one for #1. It is to put down a banana and have it face the floor and then attach it to a piece of wood and keep auto building it until it follows you and then you will go FLYING if you hop on it. I know it sounds fake but it’s real just try it
This is actually true Mith so if you sometimes punch butterflies in Mario 64, they don’t always give you wan ups. Sometimes they become bombs and chase you. This is really true test it.
You can collect stars out of order, but can you race koopa the quick in tiny huge islands before you race him in bomb bomb battlefield and would he have difficulty dialog?
No, he won’t have difficulty in dialogs, why? The lore doesn’t appear sequentially. That said, try Bowser in the Fire Sea, then do Bowser in the Dark World. Same thing. Lore is pretty much inconsistent when all you’re doing is pure gameplay. It’s a known fact. You can even try playing the Big Bully as your first boss, same situation. So, yes go ahead, by all means. Do the Tiny Huge Island Koopa race before the Bobomb Battlefield one if you insist. The races are inconsistent in lore because their stars need to be loaded first. That’s a gameplay setting. Only then on selecting the said stars concerning the NPC, you can race the said NPC, ergo Koopa The Quick.
No it's not. The butterfly thing is only certain areas and the hitbox is very small it's very hard to hit them. But be careful, not all turn into 1 ups, a lot of them turn into explosions and can kill you lol
#7: I’m confident if you kill the Lakitu enemy in Tiny Huge Island, your camera angle is forced to the Mario setting. You can’t change it back, until you leave the level. It’s something I remember happening to me too as a kid.
@@GODOFAWSOMENESS1 The mirror room doesn't actually use a mirror, it's basically a "window" with duplicated objects and sprites, so the Lakitu you see in the mirror room is almost certainly a different sprite that's just mirroring your cameraman's actions.
Well I think I confused the hyroglyphs with another Mario game and I only remembered the fog thing after you said it, so it's debatable if I really knew it all when I actually rememebered stuff on the reveal.
I never knew about the mother penguin reacting if you took her baby back away, also I guess I'm not as "evil" as I think I am... I never threw that little sh💩t off the edge even after the hassle of finding it, if I struggle to find that penguin this time, it's doomed when I do get my hands on it, I remember that level was annoying (nothing compared to Rainbow ride though, I hated that place) I'd still like to see the myth I mentioned in a previous comment, involving that killer piano in Big Boo's Haunt... Entertaining and interesting video as always, Wily, can't wait for the next one
@RoseQuartz692 I suggested 2 myths for Dr. Wily to try out, 1 for "Mario 64" and another for "Tears Of The Kingdom" Tears Of The Kingdom myth : if you fuse bananas to a boomerang, will Yiga clan members react to it and get distracted? Mario 64 myth : Can you ground pound on the Killer piano in Big Boo's Haunt, breaking it and obtaining a 1-up mushroom? The first of those 2 myths was just something I was wondering about... the Mario 64 myth however is one I heard of back when I was 12 but wasn't very good at Mario 64 and got killed before I could jump to perform the ground pound, it's been so long since I played the game and now I'm finally going to do it, with my 21st birthday celebrations finally over with I'll hopefully have the time to play it after so long Wily actually responded to me about these myths saying he'll try them both out
alright got both now, will do my best to cover them, sm64 should work, totk is harder because my folder is filled with over 150 myths lmao but will do my best
No. Never. She can’t do that. The Big Fish in Tiny Huge Island could. Dory is a friendly entity. It can’t hurt you unless you alter the game and turn it into a personalized copy.
@@drwilyyou can do so in a romhack. Try “Shotgun Mario 64” by “Dan_GPTV”. Amazingly the game is broken without the usage of kills. You can even achieve a zero star, zero key speedrun with this romhack alone by using a freaking shotgun. And the shotgun is invincible and powerful to most items.
So there is one myth that never got found out the collaboration between Final fantasy and Nintendo... From hidden gems like in the first final fantasy Nes you visit the elven forest and find links grave, or erdricks depending on the japanese or American made, to super mario rpg and final fantasy crysalix. But people speculate that there is another Easter egg in mario odyssey with another final fantasy reference, but no one has found it... do you think you can solve this myth?
