The Goron Tunic provides a protective effect against *all* damage floors in the game, raising the interval between damage 'ticks' by about 5~7 times. This applies to every form of damage floor: The shallow lava in Dodongo's Cavern, spikes in the Water Temple and Shadow Temple, the poison water in the Royal Family's Tomb and Bongo Bongo's boss arena, etc. If you know this, it can be potentially useful in more areas than expected. It can be helpful in speedruns or randomizers for sure, though the use is quite situational.

Welp, seeing as you didn't know about the giant Leevers, I guess you also didn't know about the giant Guay enemy that spawns after killing enough Guays in Lon Lon Ranch.

I didn't know about the Ganon tower fire sage floor sinking because once I got the hover boots, I didn't take them off

The Fire Temple segment at 11:30 is actually false because in order to get to that part you have to go through the boulder maze. You can't skip the boulder maze. In fact the area that the elevator goes to is there by Nintendo's design and it just leads to two gold skulltulas it doesn't go anywhere else or bypass anything. If anything, it actually sets Link back because the big hole in the center goes down to the big room with the bridges over lava in the beginning of the dungeon. It's not a shortcut in any way. Also there's nowhere on the floor in the boulder maze room where you can use the scarecrow song either, until you come back to the boulder maze room through the door up by said elevator. That's the absolute ONLY spot in that room where the scarecrow song works.

So I just had this happen in a randomizer, it's actually possible to lure dogs out of castle town, but I guess they have to be close enough to the map transition to work.

Useful tip for when you get eaten by a Like-Like: They can only consume certain equipment -the tunics and shields you can purchase in shops. So, if you quickly change to your Kokiri Tunic and Mirror Shield while you’re being consumed, it won’t eat these because you’re only ever meant to get one of each

One thing that blew my mind, is that you can break walls with blue fire 😮

The iron boots actually help while you're walking on ice!

The hookshot still works on the Spirit Temple statue's nipples in the 3DS version as well. Surprising that they never got rid of it. 😂 You can also hookshot the chain of the platform that descends into that room to get back up there. Not sure if you already knew, but figured I'd say it just in case.

Here are some funny things I personally found recently: - The baby Dodongo larvae that spawn in Dodongos cavern can be instantly killed with the Megatonn hammer by simply hitting the ground. - If you have a mod allowing any item as any age, characters in the game and cutscenes will not load right if you are equipped wrong (Gerudo not recognizing adult link equipped with Deku shield and Kokiri sword, child link talking to King Zora with the adult tunic equipped, etc.) The game treats link based on his tunic,shield, and sword rather than actual age. - Also Redeads will literally never get off you if you do not press anything, even if you have infinite Fairys in bottles. - You can use ice arrows to freeze Bongo Bongos' hand during his fight in the Shadow Temple, and he will use his other hand to repeatedly smash the frozen hand till it is free. - Using the Song of Storms while also using the Lens of Truth prevents magic from being used til the rain stops. This also works in Majorras Mask.

Stand on statue's hand, hookshot the top point of the hookshotable nipple and pointy nipples will damage link 😂 i experienced this on a live stream

If you wear the bunny hood as a child in hyrule field at night, it stops the stalchildren from spawning. I've never heard of the skull mask stopping the stalchildren, but it was interesting to see you try because i usually ignore the masks in most of my play throughs.

The skulltulas on walls will only attack you if you are consistently moving, so if you climb the wall, but only move one step at a time, you can fully climb past them without having to defeat them first. You can use this to get to the upper level of the deku tree before getting the slingshot.

Not sure if you knew this, but you can one shot boss octorock in Jabu Jabu with a deku stick. As far as a glitch goes, you can enter the bottom of the well early before ever turning into Adult Link. All you need to have is a Navi prompt, and then you need a deku stick. To make this work, you need to do a mid-air strike over the well and land on the other side while holding the deku stick and repeatedly pressing up c. It'll make Link talk to Navi and drop to the bottom of the well through the water, allowing you to get inside. It's not easy to pull off though haha. Also, back in the day, I figured out a weird trick in the bombchu bowling alley to guarantee wins everytime (with good timing). I remember positioning Link in the far left corner of the aisle and on top of the stripes, pointing him straight forwards (just pressing up), and then letting go of the bombchu. It makes it so easy it practically guarantees wins. One last thing, not sure if you knew this, but if you were to wear the hover boots in the shadow temple, it makes you immnue to the invisible spikes on the ground.

The best way to farm money, is to catch a fish, and sell it to the man in the market/ village who rocks back and forth. He buys it for 200 rupees every time, and the fish respawns. [As a kid, there is a hole where you can catch one just outside the castle. I think it is to the left when facing the castle.

The Bunny Hood prevents Stalchild spawns! It's pretty handy. Another neat trick to avoid Stalchildren spawns in Hyrule Field is to stay on the paths. As long as you're on a road, they wont spawn; but if you step off the road and make one spawn, not even the road will spare you. I've always considered this a slight reference to Zelda 2, where as long as you're walking on the roads, enemies don't spawn.

It's interesting on the myths that end up false to try and figure out where the idea or memory came from. Like the one about Dampe fleeing, if you grew up with Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time being played interchangably you may remember him running in MM and attribute it to OoT. No idea where the pictobox idea came from though.

Did you know there's a rare chance that the diving mini-game can give you a rupee that fills your wallet completely? Also in the n64 version, there is a small nintendo gallery, however, the gallery of paintings is in the courtyard with Zelda inside one of the windows. You can even shoot that window for 20 rupees with a slingshot.

Two things, 1. The bunny hood stops the stal children from spawning, 2. you can stand on the road and the stal children won't spawn

Friend of JJgoneinsane here (the Tektite Space Program Glitch) here with another Just For Fun glitch that he and I used to do growing up. As some viewers might already know, when you bomb a Gossip Stone, after a short time, it will begin to flash blue and red before eventually taking to the skies like a rocket. As an additional bonus to that easter egg, if you strike the Gossip Stone while it is flashing one of these colors, it will stay that color until you leave the area!

the Skull Mask keeps Keese away from you (and i think Guays as well) but the Stalchildren are repelled by the Bunny Hood...you do take damage from the Gerudo Cauldron, even with the Goron Tunic, its just much-slower damage (like walking on the lava-floors in the Fire Temple-- the 'tick rate' is quartered or something, so it takes four times as long to 'hurt' Link)... ...as for the Fish before SariaSong cutscene, i have no idea...but considering that you can use the "Bottle Catch Animation" to skip the Forest Temple's Poe Sisters introduction (and make it to the Elevator before it lowers), i can only imagine what kind of shenanigans would happen if you did the same trick in different places... oh, and regarding the Thumbnail's question-- yes, "Giant Enemies" will occasionally spawn, but only after youve killed a certain number of their Smaller counterparts...it works for Stalchildren (though Night Time is kinda short, so you have to spawn AND kill them quickly), Guays (but not the LonLon Ranch ones; they drop a bunch of Rupees instead), and as seen in the picture, Leevers...the key point is that it has to be an Infinitely Spawning enemy

Fun Fact: this is the only game where blade traps can be frozen.

If you wear the hover boots during the final Ganon fight and he hits you, you get knocked back way more than if you were wearing the normal boots.

You don't need the first 3 medallions to beat the game you only need the light spirit and shadow medallions

The Scarecrow in the Fire Temple isn't a skip. It's the only way to get into an optional part of the dungeon containing two Gold Skulltulas and 200 Rupees. That's all it leads to.

For the last one, im 90% certain theyre remembering Majoras Mask, as the gravekeeper in that one is very skiddish and will not come out until the following day if he gets spooked.

Great video! I love the Zelda myth series you do! A suggestion I wanted to add: As child Link, when you are in the Hyrule field at night, if you are walking on the white paths the stalchildren actually don't spawn unless you stop walking on these paths! I found it quite useful when I was running out of time when I was playing, and stood on these paths until it became morning again.

In Twilight Princess if you're sinking in the sand or know it will be possible & trying to get further, ( hold a bomb & let it explode while you hold it & the dragging time will reset!

About the Stalchildren - I'm 100% sure they don't spawn if you stay on the paths, they only pop up if you walk in the grass, but I'm also pretty sure it's actually the bunny hood that stops them from spawning when you wear it. From what I remember, they're still hostile if you put it on when they've already spawned, but wearing it stops them from spawning.

The nipples of the statue were made unhookshottable in the 3DS version, likely because of the change to the hookshot where it shows if it can grab onto something. A lot more kids would have found it by accident, so Grezzo removed it.

You can skip the waterfall to zoras domain as adult too. You need hoverboots, a good angle and a well timed roll. I works the same way as the child skip, but is a bit harder.

It’s possible to legitimately get past the gate in Guerdo Valley as a child without cheats. Using the cucoo, stand on the left edge of the bridge where the wood is supporting on either end. With a precise lineup and timing link will jump and you can jump slash over the fence! Give it a try.

Guess I was lucky to be a Nintendo Power kid. It must've been either that or having a guide, but I always knew the trick with the skull mask keeping the Keese away. Super useful, people get mad when they learn they could've done that the whole time.

You can skip all the trials on ganon tower by pushing one of the statues on the shadow trial near the starting door and jumpslashing diagonally upon it, the statue will push you out of bounds back into the main room and walking carefully can help you go throught ganon tower without the barrier loaded You dont ever need the bow to finish the fire temple, its only use is to open the room containing the map or compass (I dont recall which one) and you can get it by running all the firewall room until the end and jmping into the jail containing the chest, in fact the fire temple can be done first with no tricks at all As a child you can get the piece of heart from the dude on the roof on kakariko village, you just need to climb the tower near it and upon climbing it, z target, walk to the norwest corner on it and jump left, you will land n the fence and can climb to the house easy The scare dampe is real but in MM, using any of the specter masks (gibdo, garo or captain mask) and talking to him will scare him and run all of his programmed path superfast Projectiles reflected with the shields can hurt any enemy

i just remembered something, it's not exactly a myth, but it's pretty obscure: in Ganon's castle, there's a secret room on the far side from the entrance, that you can only find with the "Eye of truth". i can't remember if it's on the top floor on the lower floor... inside the room are bunch of "business scrubs". what you said about the MIrror Shield not bouncing THEIR shots back reminded me of that room.

Thanks for including the fire trial in ganondorfs castle. To this day im shocked that's a thing. I have another cool glitch for you. As adult link if you glitch the game to wear the Gerudo mask and be in the Gerudo dessert it will light up the wooden poles helping you see were to go a lot easier.

The Cuccos rampage is weird, is supposed to attack you until you leave the place or get a game over, but usually in Zora's River for example, just by staying on the water they eventually stop... I have to take a look to this as I can't remember very well this situation.

I like the different colored gauntlets. They behave exactly like the gold gauntlets, so performing the glitch after getting the gold gauntlets is viable. And the gauntlets only disappear after you receive a strength upgrade, as the new strength upgrade replaces the texture. I can't remember if it also disappears after saving and quitting though.

Hi I'm a Gossip Stone, and they say this game has a few glitches.

How did i get past impa that one time ? When you talk to zelda and see Ganon, you will be able to walk to impa afterwards and she warps you to hyrule field right, well i got past impa without that cutscene happening and i was surrounded by dogs immediately after loading into the previous area with the guards. I couldn't figure out how i did it 😔

1. Killing Guay (crows) will also spawn a big crown (i think you can achieve this in lon lon ranch) 2. Using the Megaton hammer will deku-scrubs, mad scrubs, bussiness scrubs pop out when they're hidden 3. Using fire arrow/din's fire to a gibdo will transform it into a re-dead

I do believe one of the masks prevents stalchildren from popping. I think its the bunnyhood

For the gauntlet changing trick, it sounds like you are describing a method of RBA (reverse bottle adventure). Dannyb has some great videos about this trick so I highly recommend checking his channel. This will also explain why other inventory items get deleted.

I love the fact that the deku stick is so powerful. Does the "unbreakable deku stick" change its power since it'll stay in half? I'm sure you've done it, but if not, do it by having a cliff behind you and swinging the deku stick against something that'll break it.

I'm quite positive that only the deku shield can bounce enemy projectiles back. The other Shields don't.

Whatever's happening with the Spooky mask, it just looks like the lighting engine isn't affecting it at all.

Not only leevers and stallchilds have huge variants, Guays also have when you kill enough of them.

I actually have an oddity for Ocarina of time and a separate one for Majora's mask. For Ocarina of time all you need is Nayru's love and a warp song. Use Nayru's love then play a warp song but DON'T warp. Instead cancel and you'll notice that your blue force field is gone but your magic meter is still glowing. Play any non warp song at this point to cancel this effect. For Majora's mask all you need is access to Romani ranch when "They" appear. Try showing up at 2:31 AM (just one in game minute after the attack begins) and the game just won't let you enter Romani ranch even if the path is clear. If I recall correctly there is just a random voice(?) that says "It looks like something is happening now." . I always thought that Nintendo should have added a red barrier like a force field but no... Grasshopper just refuses to enter :( Both are pretty useless but kinda fun / weird.

After reading patch notes for the newest update of the randomizer (8.1 of this comment), i wanted to test out half the stuff that they mentioned crashed the game. And thankfully this video did most of them. Theres probably some oddities from randomizer logic that could be tested like melting the bombmble walls in Dodongo's Cavern with ice arrows, and even doing all of DC as an adult

People talk about the Korok space program, but never about the Tektite space program

Unlike the big Stalchildren (which are just Stalchildren but bigger), those purple Leevers are their own distinct enemy. Navi even had a different description of them compared to the normal little green ones. (Also that elevator in the Fire Temple isn't a shortcut to the Megaton Hammer; it leads to an optional area with a Gold Skulltula on the wall and a Gold Rupee in a chest. But there's nowhere else to go from there, only back to the maze room or all the way down to the bridge room.)

Gueys, ... queys ... the freaking birds also grow bigger after you defeat a certain amount of them. But it takes a few more. The Bunny Hood prevents Stalchildren from appearing, not the skull mask. Not leaving the paths on Hyrule field does this as well.

If I had to take a stab at the nintendo gallery thing, I'd say that they might've been thinking of the Swamp in Majora's Mask where you take photos to finish a couple side quests

So since you said in your last Video that Deku Nuts don't affect ghosts: It is actually possible to make ghosts appear again with deku nuts when they are invisible. But to my knowledge it only works on the ghosts of the forest temple. I never actually tried using it on other ghosts like the musicians on Kakariko Graveyard

A lot of these myths, glitches, I did not know as a kid, or at all. I wouldn't even think of these.

Maybe they were thinking of Dampe's behavior in Majora's Mask? I've heard stories that he'll flee from certain masks in that game, but I forget which one(s) specifically he'll allegedly react to.

a simple trick i discovered: the Hammer can affect some things that would normally require a bomb. for example, you can use it against the second "flare dancer" miniboss in the Fire temple. or to open some holes in the ground. oh, and i've found that the Hookshot and Longshot can hook many Climbable surfaces. of of my favorite tricks i near the end of the Light temple, where you are expected to climb a very tall wall with moving segments that can throw you off, and lots of Skulltulas. BUT, if you destroy the two "Beamos" enemies, stand on the small platform where they were, and aim the Longshot at the top of the wall, you can instantly get on top!

Did you know if you hold R while talking to king zora he gives you a trade quest item. Maybe this could be used on other npcs

I think that one user's mother had a dream about the crack in the wall of the fishing area and mistook it as an experience. happens all the time.

I knew about a good few of the tricks since I unintentionally found them not too long after I started playing in 1999.

For the gauntlets color changing, its basically arbitrary code execution. Its the same reason why warp glitches and such work as all of the code gets read in a different way due to other glitches. So when you have specific things in your inventory, specific things set up in your c buttons, etc, all of that code will be read differently, and thusly make a different outcome. This is also why the exact order of the c buttons are set up, and why some glitches require specific actions. Youre basically just writing code.

You can go underwater in frozen Zora's Domain as an adult if you Hookshot to the top of the steel ladder used to climb back to the main entrance. You will clip inside the wall since link wants to grab to the ledge instead of grabbing the ladder. Drop down and equip Iron boots to Walk under Zora's domain, you can find a secret alcove that went unused and was theorized to contain the Triforce 😲!

if you use a bomb on a blue bubble they start flying right to it Idk know if it works on the other kinds of bubbles tho

One I like is this utterly bizarre but convenient glitch where holding Z+R during certain dialogue while receiving an item from some NPCs that give you multiple items. Specifically, you can use this with King Zora and the Fishing Guy. While speaking to King Zora as an adult during the dialogue where you get the free Zora Tunic, hold down R, and you should get a different reward from his item table. Use this with him as an adult to swap the Zora Tunic for an early Eyeball Frog, skipping much of the Biggoron Sword quest. You can buy a tunic later, so its no big deal. (I thiiiink this just needs you to hold R? Maybe it is Z+R, But I can't recall for certain, haven't done it in years) The Fishing Pond fella is a bit more tricky, as its both more difficult to pull off, and if you aren't careful, I believe you can lock yourself out of a heart piece. (But I recently did this on Switch, so it should work on most versions) The most useful reward for this is to go in as child Link before you've broken any records, catch a fish over 6lbs but under 10lbs, (so you break a record but don't miss the heart piece) and keep the fish. Don't do any more inputs, just get into deep water, so Link starts swimming. Face the door, and make sure there's nothing you can actively target. Now, hold Z+R, (Again, don't Z-target anything) and while holding them the entire time, leave the water and walk up qnd what with the fishing pond fella. Weigh your fish. The reward should be the Gold Scale. If you have issues, there's plenty of speedrunner videos that demonstrates the process. Some really cool people figured out how this works- apparently, the little hamsters in the cartridge get delayed by the R input for some reason, and assumes you got the previous reward, and skips forward a few item slots. And in both of these cases, the items are really convenient!

Funny thing about the Deku Stick being so powerful, there's a glitch that allows you to keep a broken Deku Stick and continue to use it. I believe it requires jump slashing a wall and hitting it twice before Link's animation is finished? I'm not sure of the specifics.
