I just bought a 2006 Chevy Suburban 2500HD (8.1L), with 112k miles. In near mint condition. I paid 12k for it. I bought it to replace my 2003 Suburban 1500 (with 278k miles), which I am giving to my daughter for her 16th birthday. Several family members thought I was crazy to pay that much for an 18-year old used vehicle. I tried to explain to them how reliable the vehicle is, and that I expect it to last me until I die, but, not being "car-people", they just don't get it.
They never will get it. This era gm trucks/suvs are some of the best constructed vehicles ever in my opinion. I fully intend for my burb to last a lifetime. I have yet to see something that comes to a match with them. Well worth the 12 if it was mint for sure.
*Yes!* 😧 We need more videos on the upgrades! Nice find Tyler, I almost bought a 1ton Chevy flatbed with an 8.1 a while back. Always heard good things about that engine. Sounds like you're getting busier, just make the videos when ya can. Thanks for helping with the driving, Zane. 🙂👍 Take care and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Yeah might drop it down to 1 really good video a month next year. Don’t know, so far I’ve driven it literally just today since I got it home. Towed a trailer full of scrap and it did really well. Only 2500lbs. So we shall see so far I’m happy so if you find one snag it!!
