22 years ago my father in law purchased this brand new 2001 Chevrolet suburban. He custom ordered it as a 8.1 V8 rear wheel drive 2500 thats victory red over a slate interior. This extremely unique spec along with some of the painted body panels and side moldings make this one of the rarest Suburbans to ever exist. This pristine example has lived its life sitting in our garage not moving a whole lot. We took it out to trailer a car across the country, let's check it out!

Best vehicle ever. I love my 2003 with only 225k miles that I have had since 2005. I bought a new 2019 Duramax 2500 Denali to tow my heavier stuff while I rebuilt the chassis (I live in the North East and the brine is hard on vehicles) on my Suburban. Sold the Denali as the Suburban is definitely a more well rounded vehicle. Less maintenance and can haul 8 people and 12k lbs!

My husband and I have had two of the tahoes 03/05 and two suburbans 03 4x4/ 04 love em towed the camper all cross America last summer and only thing we did was beef up the suspension

In all caps even! Beautiful. Thanks for the comment. Dust off the ol Webster dictionary. Look up the word rare. Spend as much time as you care to trying to find another one. Revisit what the word rare means, then swing back through.

4WS wasn't an option with the 8.1. 6.0's only. So that comment doesn't pertain to this particular vehicle.

Were there any manual transmission suburbans though? For some reason I thought the 8L trucks were the only ones with manual transmission options. BTW, OP a 2WD avalanche 2500 would be more “uncommon”
