After my videos on the Dartmoor National Park wild camping ban and the potential corruption involving Blachford Estate owner Alex Darwall and conservative MP Anthony Mangnall, I decided to go and camp on Darwall's Blachford Estate and get as close to his house as legally possible.
Sign the petition to enshrine into law rights to roam and wild camp in national parks:
petition.parli...
Pass legislation to protect people's right to enjoy nature, and prevent it being restricted by landowners, who we believe should not really be allowed to own land within national parks. National parks should be for all, and not turned into a commodity.

Hedge Fund Manager and he couldn't even fund a hedgerow, alongside his metal fence and barbed wire. For a start it would give his house more privacy, as well as being good for wildlife. A lot of these large landowners only plant trees or do environmental work if they can get a subsidy grant for it. The biggest benefit scroungers in the country. 😂

What I don't get is how a national park is privately owned land? On top of that, taxpayers money is going into a private land owners pocket. Can I classify my property as a national park? Seems like an easy way to get a passive income.

Do a bit of research on the “convoy” and “battle of the bean field”. Well, illegal camping is also nice :) That's the deal here in the Netherlands. I don't really think that people can stop me from sleeping wherever i want in the Forrest. But i somehow get that wild camping is illegal because of all the mess a lot of people leave behind and cut down live trees because the don't know any better. I wish we had some lessons on school about respecting nature and how to behave in it.. I love your video dude!!

Enjoyed. Only just found it and it seems like the self serving politicians only let it the petition run for six months. I'll still camp on Darwall land any time I feel like it, really not sure what he was trying to achieve. However, if it was locals with firepits and 2 litre bottles of white cider leaving shit all over the place I can understand it. If everyone left no trace this wouldn't be a thing.

I like this a lot, my take on it is if you believe 'one' is in the right and can have a thick skin you can do it even if it is illegal. Same with parking campers and smoking weed etc. This video really makes me want to set up a tent right up outside the front door.

I don't understand how any one human can "own" land. Sure build a home to protect you and your family from the elements, sure use the surrounding land to maintain your life, plant and farm, sure be able to protect that land from intruders who want to take what you have created and earned or harm your family, but to own an "estate" of nature, its illogical. Especially when you have "laws" that stop people from living, where a person with no home cannot even live off the land but others can "own" the land and stop people from accessing it. We truly live in a monstrous and ludicrous world.
