Love your measuring: a dab here, a sprinkle there. My grandmothers were the same. I, too, have learned the method. I agree with a fellow commenter. It is very calming to watch you cook a big meal. In addition, it gives me ideas for my meals. Good ol' country cookin' that my husband and I grew up on/from the farm. We are ready for the planting season. I have meant to say how much I like your idea for your salt and pepper putting it in a glass jar with the wooden lids ..so cute and functional.

Oh no! I had to keep a "Skunk Spray" kit always ready one summer. The next time you go to Sam's Club pick up hydrogen peroxide(you'll need a few bottles of large size to use over the course of a few days), and baking soda. Add an empty spray bottle, 2 garbage bags, a few pairs of disposable gloves, about 3 grubby old towels you won't mind tossing. You will also need to put old clothes for yourself in the kit that can also go in the garbage. All of this can go in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. If you google it you can get the exact ratios. But you will need a bit of dawn dish soap mixed with the soda and hp. Put some in the empty spray bottle and pour the rest into the bucket in the event of another spray attack. I have had to do this at least 5 times. It works the best. You will need to fully bathe with the entire batch once a day for 3 days.

I always heard that tomato juice is what you should wash your pet with after a skunk sprays. I have luckily never had this happen.

Your home is really looking beautiful. I love watching your channel and can't wait for the kitchen renovation. You are such a good cook and deserve the kitchen of your dreams. You asked for ideas regarding your chickens. My son has four acres with a stream and has chickens. He lost his first 2 flocks to predators. He and my grandchildren were devasted when they found all 10 of their chickens were killed by raccoons. He changed the location from the back of his property to the front. Their coop is like Fort Knox, with the fence tied down, netting over the entire area, and locks on the doors of the chicken house. Those chickens are really spoiled. I always get them a Christmas present. This last year, I got them a swing. They provide me with free eggs, so it is the least I can do. Nothing is as good and fesh as eggs laid the same day you eat them. The chickens always come running when I go to the coop. I like hanging with "the girls", lol. I know you will really enjoy your girls too. You may want to consider getting a herding dog.

I love your channel, I Love and adore all of the animals, Milo, Max, and Willow. Tim is amazing for the work he has done, so very impressive.

I know all too well about the skunk smell, our Casper got sprayed more than once, unfortunately Casper disappeared the middle part of Dec, and hasn't come home since, but we have his little brother Moonshine, so he helps to fill the void, the house is looking fabulous, have a blessed week.

What is good to know Max is okay😊 and yeah you need to watch out what's around you what's behind a tree your car because there was a lady who went to go take care of her elderly couple and as she was getting out of a car like she always did she didn't realize that there were some wild hogs cuz it was still kind of dark cuz it was early in the morning.. and unfortunately the wild hogs knocked her down and well she didn't survive.. so yeah it's always good to even have bear spray in your hands to even go check the mail walk the dogs specially if you're away from your trailer it's good to have something that can protect you and your hands at all times.. and with all that said it's still a beautiful place that y'all have😊

Dearest Valerie, I so enjoy your channel !! I was born and raised in the beautiful mountians of Virginia. I lived there for 47 of my 60 years, the other 13 years have been spent about 15 miles from my precious homeplace, while now residing in the southern most county in West Virginia, literally through the East River Mountain Tunnel. I'm sorry that your fur baby got sprayed with a pole cat, but I feel like I wouldn't be a good neighbor if I didn't warn you about the rattlesnakes and copperheads that infest our gorgeous mountain homelands. They DO crawl at nigbt, many think they don't but I can tell you from first hand experiences they do. Also, we not only have bears and bobcats, but also panthers and coyotes, these two will kill small animals. Also, please be mindful of leaving Milo's kitty food out on the porch, raccons and opossums love it and they can be pretty mean. The renovations are looking great, I cannot wait to see everything y'all do!! Your Country Neighbor, Marilyn

Time to get those boys cleaning the kitchen after you cook.. they won't be home 4ever and will need to learn before they have a apt, or dorm (they have to clean up the dorm kitchen if they use it). Maybe start teaching the older ones how to make a few of their favorite recipes. They will be off before you know it.. teach them laundry etc. Mine learned in their early teens, I raised four boys and wanted them to have home skills and they thanked for it.

why not start a compost heap? choose a spot near any future garden beds not too far from the house, start with a large cardboard box ior wooden base and dump all fruit and veg. peelings, ripped up newspaper, wood shavings anything organic and aay you go! best of luck grumpy grandma uk
