Kirei is such a loved character because everytime he is on screen the scene is about him, and besides this isnt even the worst thing kirei has done

Artoria was taught by her mentor to manipulate mana, here in fate, Saber creates her armor with mana and learned to manipulate air with magic for her sword, conveniently, both skills work fantastically to make a bike extremely fast by making it aerodynamic and manipulating the air to speed it up 😎

I think said it before but Irisviel probably knew about Maya and Kiritsugu, both maya and Iri wanted to make Kiri happy at all costs, and iri knowing she was dying and couldn't be by Kiri's side would probably be happy that Maya is trying to give Kiri some relief. Plus (mini spoiler) we know kiri loves Iri more than Maya (I mean he showed no reaction to Maya kissing him unlike when he was with iri) 13:30 the knives are called "black keys" and are a staple of church executioner weapons, blades are made from magical energy and are especially effective against non humans (mostly vampires) they are usually used as thrown weapons. There is a very long wiki pages about them since they are a stable in the nasuverse

If you do want to understand more on Kariya's mindset, there IS a video by the youtuber, "Tsiah IV" who covered up what Kariya actually is like as a person. HOWEVER it does container a few spoilers from Fate/Zero, so it would be best to watch it after you finish the series

Personally, I like Kirei as much as he is a foil to both Kiritsugu, and Shirou in heaven's feel...his being evil shines most when Kiritsugu and/or Shirou are there...

It's kinda twisted, but Kariya never actually wanted to save Sakura for her. He wanted to save Sakura to look good to Aoi. He may have STARTED with the intention to save Sakura because he didn't want her to suffer the way she did, but Kariya quickly lost sight of that. Look at how he exclusively only went after Tokiomi whenever he joined the HGW battles. The man hated Tokiomi so much for stealing the woman he loved, that Kariya quickly forgot about the original reason for his goals. At some point his goal went to killing Tokiomi, and then make himself look good to Aoi so he could marry her Kariya was never actually a good person

So... As for Kirei... We love to hate him, he is a phenomenal villain... But also... F/SN content that wasn't done justice in the adaptations... His daggers are called Black Keys, depending on where in the Nasuverse you are they either are, or used to be a staple weapon of the Church's executors... In Tsukihime we actually have a character who has TRULY mastered the use of them unlike Kirei. For Karia... he won't kill himself, Rin and Sakura are still alive... If those two died before the end of Zero... Then he probably would. Not spoiling Berserker's identity BUT part of his legend WAS disguising himself so him being able to do that plays further into him as a character. If you love the darker more messed up side of Fate then it's an even bigger shame that some parts of the Nasuverse aren't animated because some of them get insanely dark.

Kariya was an incel. This was what I meant before, when I said Kariya isn't as good as he seemed. I'd argue that Kariya is a worse a-hole than even Kirei and Gilgamesh, since he is an a-hole parading himself as a martyr trying to save the woman he likes and her daughter, when in fact he just wants what belongs to someone else. Which makes perfect sense given who he summoned. Gil is a douche with pride in himself and his being a douche, and kirei is discovering himself and eventually just gives in to his depravity. They're both honest with their own "evil", where Kariya kept making excuses to make someone else the evil and himself as the one going against it...
