I doubt if Stan did any work at all. However he may be good providing Security. I know if I broke into the mobile home and saw Stan standing there I'd run for the hills 😅
Those staples brought back memories of when we removed carpeting from a couple of rooms in our 100 year old Sears Honor Bilt house. Staples were EVERYWHERE. What a pain. Our 6 year old grandson had come over, though, and he found it fascinating to work at getting staples out. Hour after hour he worked alongside us and persevered. We could not have been prouder of him, and more grateful. It's a wonderful memory. Maverick, I love seeing you say "Bye." Bye to you too, blessed boy.
The sink is really in amazing condition considering the age of it.. it brings back memories of grandma’s sink and the smell of homemade sugar cookies..
I am looking at the cleaned sink thinking, Doug clearly missed a couple of spots. Turned out, it was my screen that needed cleaning. Never should have doubted the power of Doug!
Doug, you've done a beautiful job restoring the cabinet and sink. This will be a wonderful addition your home and the look you and Ashley are giving it. So nice of you to be thoughtful of your neighbors. It's good to have two major projects to work on. Gives you the opportunity to do different things and not get bored. Have a good weekend.
You can get a sink mat made by Rubbermaid in many different colors. I I got mine off Amazon. It helps prevent chipping if someone tosses cutlery in the sink. I'm the fork tosser around here. 😂
Wow!! The sink turned out fantastic! It looked so shiny and bright in the video. I cant imagine how it looked on person! Maverick's big smile and bye at the end made my day happier. He's loves saying goodbye to us as much as we love seeing him say goodbye. Just wish he could see me smiling and waving back!
You are so thoughtful of your neighbors. We were raised to help and respect each other too. I appreciate that you are sharing your renovations and look forward to seeing the completed projects!
Hi Doug, just wanted to let you know that the top of the metal sink has a slight angle on either side so water drains back into the sink when dishes are placed on it to dry. Ashley will like that !
That sink was nice, now it's beautiful ❤️. Good decision, with the rain, to go get the nails out. You guys flexibility makes it unpredictable and interesting to watch your videos. You roll with the circumstances. 👍
What a find! My son restored his 100+ years old farmhouse and ended up buying a reproduction drain board sink because he couldn't find one in good enough condition. Beautiful ❤
Maverick is absolutely precious! His smile would brighten any day. And those cheeks!! In 13 years the girls will be swooning for him. I believe the sink being so dirty enabled you to receive a better price. Your sink is amazing. The investment property is progressing nicely. Although you will not be residing there you maintain your usual high standards during the remodel. That is both rare and admirable. As always, much respect for your work ethics and wonderful family values.
They may make it home for awhile .. a lot of hard work and sweat went into it.. I can see them staying a few years..Ashley seems to have blossomed out more there too..
Bar Keepers Friend will take care of the rust. It looks really good and I love the idea of this cabinet being in your kitchen. Looking forward to seeing how it looks once everything has been installed in the kitchen.
My cat walked across my phone when Ashley was peeking at the window, so I had to go back and see it, lol. The sink is just outstanding. I’m in my 60’s; I’m wondering if I could be restored that well 😂😂😂 My heart is with you with removing all those nails. In our home we had the wallpaper, from hell, which was literally everywhere including closets. Nothing worked to remove it. I finally had to use a one-inch straight edge razor. It took months of determination. You always put your best effort into everything. As always be well, be blessed ❤
I love the farmhouse sink; it helps with washing veggies, drying dishes, and the sink is a good size. Can’t wait to see the faucet you chose. They do make protective racks for sinks- I agree it would be a good idea! I rented an older home years ago that had a sink like that. I wished I could take it with me! It’s a gem for sure.
Mrs. Ashley you kill me with your editing!😂 Sink is looking sharp! Those tedious little tasks that need getting done, can be daunting. One step at a time.🙏👍🏻
Oh that sink is coming along beautifully!!! I am so excited to see the kitchen assembly once it’s started, and I’m loving the more frequent updates. I get so psyched when I turn on my iPad & see you have posted a new video!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us! ❤
The best thing for quickly pulling staples and nails are fencing pliers. You just grab the staple or nail and rock the pliers on the curved part of the head pulling out what ever you grab like a claw hammer pulls nails. Great job on the sink. Phil
The sink looks amazing, I can’t wait to see the faucet installed and in the house. Ashley looking out the window at first was scary until I realized it wasn’t a ghost 😂. Great job as always Doug.
The sink looks great! I bought a plastic clear bath mat from the Dollar Tree and cut it to size to fit my sink. Then when it gets yucky, I just replace it. Not expensive at all and it protects my stainless steel sink.
Think you are going to bring metal cabinets and sinks back in style! The sink looks great!!! Love the two drain boards. Ashley was a warrior getting all those staples out! Glad you have some of the tedious stuff done! Hi Maverick! We missed that great smile and hello!
Wow. Love how considerate you both are about making noise at the income property. Girl power Ashley. You are a great example to women who fear being part of a Reno project. Enjoy your weekend.. 👥🇨🇦🤗
The sink looks so good and I can imagine how excited you are about the outcome. You guys are so dear, so considerate. I’d love it if my neighbors were as thoughtful. Bye Sweet Maverick!
You two are so thoughtful of your neighbors. Always thinking ahead. The sink is so beautiful! I wouldn't have thought about glass top stove cleaner. I love how you kids Would rather re use things than throw them away and buy new! I can hardly wait to see the finished kitchen. I'm surr that its going to be beautiful!! Keep up the good work! I look forward to your video's everyday. It was great to see you Maverick! ❤
The sink looks great - that really was an amazing find! I know it will look perfect in your new kitchen. Removing those nails and staples did not look like fun at all but you are such good neighbors to worry about not disturbing others with the noise. One more step toward completion and it is getting more exciting with each step.
Wow, wOw, WOW!!! I knew it would turn out great but holy moly that drainboard looks phenomenal!!! That is going to be soooo nice to have!! 🤩 Hahaha, Ashley creeping in the window 🤣 Lol love ya Ash! ❤ Doug, I'm surprised you don't own a staple puller! That might be something worth looking into! 😉 Awww, I missed you, Mav!! So glad I got to see you in this video little man! 😊 Hugs to All! 🤗
Love how you made Ashley creepin' in the window a feature in the video, gave me a good chuckle with my morning coffee 😂 I adore old sinks like this, and an thoroughly enjoying the restoration process,
Ashley that was so FUNNY YOU LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW AT DOUG. WITH THE MUSIC LOL I HAD TO WATCH IT SEVERAL TIMES I JUST KEEP LAUGHING.. I truly needed this today. I really enjoy how you put the music & other choices in these videos. Keep up the Good Job. GOD BLESS FROM JULIE WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND ✝️🇺🇸😕👀🚜
Wow! That sink turned out beautifully! We didn’t save ours, because we thought it wasn’t salvageable…. Now seeing this I’m second guessing that decision! We went with an acrylic double drain board and it’s just not the same as the original! So excited to see the sink top installed on that base cabinet! 🌲
