The snow still lingers in the high elevation sites but that didn't stop me from getting out and finding the #1 item on my treasure hunting bucket list! T-shirts, stickers, & more- www.GMMD.us Original Music by Brad Martin
One Martin to another Martin.... Wanted to simply say that youve got one o the best edited, most interesting channels. Love it when you take your time and show and describe your artifacts. From Texas. Since 1812.
L Mar notice that he plants a camera tripod... Walks over a stream or up a hill... Then walks back to get the rig.. Definitely a dedicated adventurer.. Les Stroud (Survivor Man) would be proud of The dood!
L Mar I agree, I was just showing one if his videos to my Son's girlfriend and said this guy goes way out to make us feel like we are there with him. HE ROCKS NO DOUBT.
chris huston I guess you're the one that made the comment yeah I totally agree I was just telling my son's girlfriend that he goes way out of his way to make us feel like we're along there with him yeah he rocks
I love all your videos. What fascinating history you uncover. I like imagining families living there in those beautiful woods. I know it must have been hard for them, but surely they loved the homesteads they carved out. I picture rustic cabins, cleared fields for crops or even just a garden, and the daily activities that might have caused the loss of the items you find. I imagine the loss of a coin was a big deal! Thank you for sharing..
My son and I have been watching your videos for over a year now and look forward to new ones! That shed was a great find! All my time in the woods, I've never found one but I've never found a colonial copper either. :) Thanks for doing what you do. -Randall
I metal detected my neighbors garden and found 2 civil war union military buttons. then my neighbors son tells me he found 4 in the same spot. an area about 5x5. I'm thinking a burial, since there was skirmishes all along this river during that time. They were waterbury bottons, 1859-1865. LOVE YOUR VIDS. they make me homesick.
Your scenic adventures are second to none! Have to say, the reverse of your 1803 DBLC was an nice as any I can remember seeing posted, just pristine! The highlight for me- the 5 point- what a beautiful animal that came off!
Pretty sure your #2 lead piece is a seal of some sort, could be a bale seal but different from normal! Good day for sure in the woods! Nice Antler shed, love it when they show up expectantly! Awesome early Eagle button and two coins for the day! Thanks for sharing and HH
Really cool finds! I love those little bits of history in the stream! You have inspired me to go hiking this weekend! Really enjoy your videos, keep em coming!
I must have walked out of the room for a minute when you found the #1 item you said you found. I enjoyed the video a lot. I like your outlook towards life and mountains,. well done amigo, keep up the good work.
Geeze I loved the Woodpecker shredding tree. That thing must be Pissed off at the long Winter season. Awesome finds! Thanks again for all your hard work.
Congratulations on your finds! You are amongst a very, very small group of people metal detecting (with RU-vid channels) whom I can actually watch and respect. I've been detecting for 14 years, and it's refreshing to me after all this time to watch videos produced with professionalism and in keeping with the true spirit of the hobby.
1803 largy the year my state Ohio was made a state. Nice half rack. At first when I saw the eagle I thought you found an RAF button but not so. Those ox knobs are cool. Good day for GMMD.
My sons and I metal detect. We clean all coins found. We keep them and I know people hate it but we love to see them glimmer. We use Never-Dull. I started metal detecting in the 70's. I have got my sons hooked on it in the 2000's. Always fun. My youngest is always the luckiest. 🤣
Brad , great job once again. Glad so see your able to upload again every Friday. I always enjoy your videos, no matter what you find. Thanks for sharing.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Congratulations on finding the Vermont Copper Brad ! Following the field stone walls is a bit of a change, but the results speak for themselves. Make a note for next November Brad, "BBB", Billy Big Buck says " I'll Be Back" !!!!!!! :-))
EARTH ANGEL😇 WHAT a 👍 great hunt! OH, gosh,a handsome military eagled button!!😁 AND that hand carved 🧥 coat button!!😬I liked the Vermont 1786 copper.... SO old! HOW fortunate that you have access to all this great 👍 untouched land!🙀 GREAT video!😍
Love to watch your videos it's so interesting all the cool things you find and I Love How You Love history and figuring things out it's just great keep it up great job take care God bless
Good stuff as usual. It still looks like winter in your area. Surprised you didn't find more evidence of structures in the spring area since there was brick, ceramics, etc.
Hey great finds, can't believe it's still that cold in Vermont we are flirting with the 80s here in jersey. I was thinking you could probably show Aquachigger a thing or to about the history of Vermont would be cool to see you guys do a video together one day. I don't know how the metal detection world works but who knows. great video and music as always. take care brother.
Really enjoy your videos and aquachiggers too. I cant get out and roam the creeks and woods any longer, so y'all make that fact a little easier to live with. Thank you so much.
Got yourself another subscriber. I just randomly selected this video and enjoyed it. Look forward to watching more. I have watched a lot of The Hoover Boys and enjoy there videos to. Glad I found another metal detecting video site. Keep making them. Very enjoyable.
Brad, deer shed the antlers anytime between Late December and through January. They are usually chewed up by rodents and are not in as good a shape as that one. Good find. If you ever get down this way give me a shout. I know some cool places to detect. Mark in Maine
Had I lived in that time, nvr would have found a button of mine. They would have been precious. A stitch in time...However, ppl were working sun up to bed. That’s where child labor comes into play. I know abt that. I grew up on a near subsistence farm in MO. U detecting and commentary r a lot of fun.
The production quality of your videos is amazing! Well done! Looks like a great hunt. Have you ever gotten lost while detecting? Man, I'd be lucky to get out of those woods alive. Thanks for the video and great hunt!
Drew - I agree with the high quality production, audio, editing and the content. Thank you Brad for your dedication, your desire and your abilities, to give us an excellent video. Thanks also for sharing your permissions and teaching/reminding us about the history of the great NE. Chuck in Kansas
Still playing catch-up, viewing your past videos. These appeal to me on so many levels. Metal detecting, nature, history and beautiful scenery. Thanks. 🙂😉🙂
First thanks for the great site to watch , many years of hunting coins and all great items !!! Did a search due to my past info and was not positive of using a microwave to heat it , I know from fire dept. training and my dad being a fire inspector that Hyde Prox is shipped in colored plastic container to keep sun off it , it can become explosive from sun ray's , Also told of the huge danger of heating it from Dad when I was a kid = but I had on idea of what a microwaves would do to it , found this one post on net = Probably not safe since heat radiation is not uniform in the microwave box. You might end up separating too much O2 from it, making it "unstable". If you need to heat it, use a Bunsen burner or your nearest equivalent. Heck, a bowl of boiling water should do it.
A good day indeed! Interesting and numerous finds! Always pays to be optimistic. I trust that you were cautious on your hike out not to stumble or fall with that sharp five pointed surface find dangling at your side.
I found that shed fairly early on, and I stuck myself more than once with that thing! I wound up packing it out on my back, points facing out, just to be safe! haha
Going back to find all the episodes that I've missed to get my GMMD metal detecting videos! Lol Amazing to see how fast you developed you video skills. The music has always been fantastic.
I'm a new follower, mid January 2020, and was wondering how to locate the start of his video productions. I enjoy his outings and want to watch from the beginning. Can you lend me a hand?
@@lakeverna first subscribe then go to his channel. Then at the top I think it is there's an option to go to history or oldest and choose that and enjoy the progression!
@@aropals672 Thank you. I did as you suggested and found all of his videos. I started at his first one and was smiling at how professional he is with his current Friday shows. It will be fun watching him learn and grow. Thank you from Southwest NE. and Grand Lake, CO
Hi, That flattened lead with the 2 on looks to me like a completely flattened Enfield .577 type bullet. That type of bullet was also used in the American Civil war. The 2 would have been moulded into the the recess in the back of the bullet and would be the bullet mould number.
Hi Brad, would that have been a Pileated Woodpecker, that worked that dead birch over? I love that the first coin says 'Quarta' on it. You got some fancy buttons, but the eagle was the *Bingo* of them all! Nice Whitetail antler shed, my husband makes buttons from them, and crafters go crazy for them.
great drop beauty for sure , nice finds considering you weren"t to thrilled about going someplace so familiar but ground conditions change frost may have push the find sin range i have a similar site it close convenient and now digging all signals tons of nails but then you pick a coin or a sweet button like yours and just makes it , thanks for sharing and proving a site is truly never hunted out
Nice to see the hunt turned out better than expected. Coppers and buttons all day long. Now I know why I've never liked Nature Trail Mix. Always thought it had a bad taste to it. Congrats to you Mister.
Another great vid. I backpack the White Mtns, NH one area in Bethel/Littleton area N.Branch Gale River I would always run into a Postman & his dog the dog would sniff out the racks & Postman would clean them up & sell them....
have you thought about doing a video about cleaning, preserving and displaying your finds? also, what books or apps you use to identify your discoveries. great channel BTW!
THAT WAS A GREAT DAY BRAD, I ENJOYED IT ONCE AGAIN TRAVELLIN WITH YAH, YOU DO A GREAT JOB ALL ROUND. TO LATE KNOW, BUT I REALISE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO DO. JUST BEING OUT THERE, STREAMS, SPRINGS, STONE WALLS, WILDERNESS. THANKS MATE. CAMILLE AUST.
