I cut all Of my hair off in 2019 because I was going through so much stress, depression and anxiety and it was the best decision I ever made. I had finally cut ties with someone toxic and I felt so free after. Fast forward to 2021 I am Married to an amazing guy, I have a beautiful baby boy and I am sincerely so happy with life now 🥺💕 my hair is also so pretty not damaged and I am just free and happy. I’m So proud of you ALYSSA!!!! This was the bravest thing ever to do!!! ❤️❤️ keep Striving QUEEEEEEEN! You are inspiring and super motivating ❤️

I went through the same thing. I was depressed, drinking, partying, and did a big chop. After some bad decisions, I found Jesus Christ, our savior. I’m telling you the best decision ever! I feel so free, his love is infinite and so amazing. I hope you get better soon, I’ll be praying for you.

As someone who has struggled hard with depression through the years, I felt your emotions through this video. Even though you didn't cry I was sitting here watching this crying. I know the struggle to survive with depression and scared to take meds, not want to put pharmaceuticals in my body. I've also always struggled with my hair image. Grow it out, cut it all off into a short pixie (never buzzed it tho) grow it out, cut it off. I'm currently growing it out again. Watching the release on your face as you cut your hair really resonated with me. When you said you felt the bad energy leave when you cut it hit home too. I felt this video all the way down! Short hair on a woman is sooo sexy and you are stunning, but the beauty I'm seeing is that radiant spirit shining through. Keep being you. It's very inspiring! Thank you for this video! ☝️🙏💜

I am instantly in love with your mother. When a mom drops everything to support her daughter... there is no greater love like that on Earth. That's just how my mom was. I lost her 3 years ago to cancer. But you look amazing. I think everyone should chop off their hair once in their life. It is such a fresh start. I shaved my head back in 2000. I did not regret it.

I’ve been waiting for this video for YEARS. I’ve always encouraged people with anxiety and depression to get help, even before I got help myself. Being on Zoloft I noticed an impact the first day as well. Then it wore off, then I increased to 75 mg and I feel great. By great I don’t mean I’m super happy all the time, I’m just not anxious, I can focus, and I no longer feel irritable or have obsessive thoughts. & yes I always think wow this tiny pill makes all the difference. Especially when I’m going through PMS.

As a nurse working in this pandemic, my depression and anxiety took me into a very dark place. I am in counseling and I shave my head two weeks ago. It's the best feeling of freedom I have felt in a very long time. I am not on medication cause right now I feel I can snap back cause I love speaking on my feelings and moods wings I don't hold back. I pray God I am in a better place where I don't have to deal with depression. I'll be praying for you.

glad she's getting medication....ive noticed for years now she has cycles of confidence, creativity, and productivity and then immediately after not knowing who she is, unproductive, uninspired...and each time it's like she forgets she was that opposite way a couple months ago. I got the same effect when I started Zoloft, t worked right away. I still had to do the work, spiritually and psychologically. I had to deepen my faith in Jesus, establish healthy friendships, and learn to forgive. Drugs work and are nothing to be ashamed of. I hope it goes well

At hate to admit this, but I'm not fully at 9 minutes in. I'm crying! I'm so broken! I can fully relate! No one ever sees how messed up we all are we only see our own pain and instead of getting to know ourselves we work to hide it! Everyone is like if I was pretty, if I had a good life, if people liked me, but let's be real this things don't make us happy! Tbh, some of the happiest people I have met were not attractive by societies standards, don't have great living situations, and don't have many friends! The thing is they accept who they are! I have ran and hid from myself for so long that I realized I too held the key! I just need to find my key and figure out how to open the door! I'm not going to lie and act like I'm such a huge fan and how you have helped me so much! I had no clue who this woman was or why she matter! I was going thriving the same struggles for different reasons! I chopped my hair off and have been doing shocking bills looks trying to find happiness in my hair! You didn't matter in my life, but this video means everything to me at this moment! I went from active and busy to a spinal injury and recently being told I may never heal all the way! On top of a life of loss and trauma I'm currently going through a lot in my living situation! This sounds like enough to drive someone crazy add on top of that I was married only about a month and a half before my injury! I literally am trying to sort out the idea of 'how is this my life' and 'where do we go from here' and trying to get to 'how do I start to look up again' then the video start! I'm sorry I'm rambling and leaving this long of a comment before the video is over, but if you have impacted me this positively and I don't know you I can only imagine how much you are helping your viewers and those around you! You are a God sent blessing! I pray for your health and well-being right along with mine! I really think you are a beacon of hope! I really wish I could meet you one day! I swear when we walk into a new chapter in our lives we cut and change our hair. It’s so powerful! It’s adjusting our crown. We walk with a new confidence and we rule the world.

"I am not my hair" yes girl. Mental struggles encouraged me to make a change too. I did my third or fourth big chop in January and it's been freeing. I'm committed to letting it stay it's natural color this decade (turned 30 in september) as it grows back out. You got this. Shout out to change.
