But in that case, are you actually using the amplifier section, or only using the preamp section and the amp section is disabled? Here, the actual output amplifier is still being used, with the output energy of the amplifier section being converted into heat.
This is super cool and very useful. I hope one day some level of cabinet simulation will be standard on all amplifier direct outs. So many potential applications for it.
I am a very happy owner of a original Little Bastard 30.. a wonderful head... For what it worth the Little Bastard is one of the very few bass tube heads that requires a cab... so this 2.N version is not by far the only one..
I own the “classic” Little Bastard, absolutely love the amp, maybe it’s me but I bought it because it was “pure”, an all tube old style amp, for me this one is a sort of “cyborg” 😅
I’m still rocking my ash down electric blue 180 combo it has a 1x15 with a ashown extension 4x10 mag cab , I have had it since 2006 playing it twice a week for practice ever since and sometimes Saturday night if we have a show some where usually somewhere lame local bars and small venues but it gets me outta the house
This would be interesting to extend and use for bass demos with other players. Merch question - what kind of shirts are used for the US merch? Bella+Canvas? Next Level. I work in the industry and know my sizes for each brand - but I got to get the headstock t-shirt.
I have the old little bastard, same wattage: I have gigged with it but you need a really big cabinet (meaning a lot of speaker surface i.e. 2x15 or 8x10) and PA support. The sound is amazing by the way :)
VLG
