We made it to the end of the Dalton Highway- Deadhorse, Alaska!! From there we took the arctic shuttle and dipped our toes in the Arctic Ocean!!! How cool is that?!!! We can't believe we made it to the end of the road, such a remote place in Alaska. The Arctic Ocean was surprisingly not as cold as we thought it would be in mid-July. We only got an hour at the Arctic Ocean so our time on the beach was short and sweet.
Deadhorse is pretty much an oil field work camp. This is not a tourist town. There ain't much here except one general store that has limited supplies. And some snacks. No grocery stores. One gas station. A few basic hotels.
A really cool thing about going to the Arctic in summer was experiencing 24 hours of daylight. It was so special to witness being all the way up here in the Arctic. Something we both wanted to experience.
