I am a subscriber on both of your channels, and I just started to play again after over 10 years break. I love your videos, but not the SHORTS! They are absolutely useless for educational purpose, especially for play along. Please make them real videos, and even better, if you could somehow categorize them on propriate playlists.

I have seen a lot of channels I liked go down over the years when they started focusing on what they thought they are supposed to post instead of staying true to themselves. So I hope you mainly do what inspires you and let the audience find you.
Damn, dude...1,000,000 people have heard you play guitar. Congrats, brother. Been watching your content here in the US for a while, and have you alone have helped me progress in my playing more than anyone else. Thank you, and keep up the good work.
Congrats on the engagement, successful tour, and 1M subs. Just subbed to the guitar channel as well. Congrats also for being an all around lovely human. :)
I cant believe people dont use the sub page. Ive been on YT since near its release. Subbed to hundreds of channels. My subs page is great, its like flicking through the tv channels but its all personalised to stuff I like. Plus I get to see new vids when they come out
I open the app on my phone and hit the subscriptions button and watch from there......I'm middle-aged, I subscribed so I can find who I like and not scroll through the suggested videos. I didn't know any better at my advanced age 😂😂😂 Subscribing to the academy as well!
I subscribed two years ago when I wanted to learn more about guitar and parctice along. I told my wife: "I found a great guitar practicing chanel!! And I'm going to play with my teacher now!" Even though I still kinda suck, but I really appreciate your hard work and selfishless sharing. Thank you 💖 -Student from Taiwan
Been here a long time... 5k to 1 million absolutely insane and earned. I think your logic on having another channel for guitar teaching and allowing this channel to be what it has become is right on the mark‼️.. I may be a gaming channel and putting to much time into my games lately tbh...but im happy to say i started putting in some quality time with guitar again. I'll be subbing to your new channel in about 10 seconds 🎸🎶
I'm glad you were able to find a workaround! I'm definitely not the best at picking up skills but I hope I can try to learn more about guitars. I used to play in class but school teachers only teach so much. I'm hoping you post bass tutorials as well :)
I’m not really a guitar player but I subscribed to your new channel. I mostly play keys 🎹 but it is great to learn about other instruments to expand playing on any instrument.
I can't wrap my head around people NOT using their Subscription page. It's bookmarked for me, it's how I open youtube. The homepage and suggested videos section is such a mish mash of SOME stuff I would enjoy, plus a huge chunk of just the algorithm throwing whatever is popular in my direction. But be that as it may, I will sub to the new channel as well to show support
I must be an old school RU-vidr, because I just looked and I am subscribed to 327 channels. I tend to almost exclusively watch videos from my subscriptions, but when I get a suggestion that looks good I add it to watch later and then watch it when I have time or if there is nothing new or iteresting in my subscriptions, which isn't often because my watch later tab is GIGANTIC!!!
Wish you the best for your new channel man! When I was considering branching out a bit to grow my small channel, I was also advised to keep my focus on music videos, in order to build an audience that comes for the original music and not other types of content. It seems this is the right way forward.
Thanks for this, as a musician at the very early stages of RU-vid this is super helpful to know! It's also a serious problem considering my current content schedule...
I don't play guitar and I have no real interest in learning at this point in my life. But I love listening to you play and it was Waterworks that got my attention initially. What you described about the situation on YT is spot-on. I really empathize with artists who are struggling to do what they feel most driven to do while also needing to "feed the algorithm" just to maintain theor platforms. I think it's a good decision you made and I hope it works out for you in the long run. And hopefully I will see you touring in the US someday, if I don't make it back to Europe soon.
You definitely kept me engaged with the guitar on your patron site where I'm a member. You're a great teacher and player, thanks for keeping the lessons alive on RU-vid also.
Yeah, I guess I'm old because I hit my subs tab daily... Insta subbed to your other channel man. I'll keep watching both. I've been here since well before the big spikes!!
I'm happy to be subscribed to both channels. That's the stuff that brought me here, as a guitarist and shred-enthusiast. That stats just show that most of the viewers just want to be entertained, instead of learning. I wish you much success in both endeavors!
Thankyou for not bailing on teaching, my 5 year old is in love with all things music so I’ve pulled out my guitar and bought him a youth guitar and you have helped me a ton in brushing up on my “skills”
Hey, didn't know about that problem, good that you're taking action on it. Will be there, i'm always super excited for any of your stuff really. Much Love :)
Instructions and techniques attracted my to the site and I'm grateful that you separated the channels. Happy for your success and the tour, but please continue with the instructions!
Bernth, I'm a fairly new follower, but on top of the amazing content, it's incredible watching you pivot and adapt, and use changes like this to your advantage! Thanks for sharing this and being transparent about the reasoning - it's sick being able to learn from your business decisions as well as your guitar content!
Omg Yes!! Thank you Bernth for the second channel!! I’ve been with you FOR YEARS!! I’ve missed your teachings and motivations through the challenges you provided monthly. Because of that in my book, for me it’s what set you above the others . I would always look for your videos daily before I looked for Stevie T, Jared Dines or even Music is Win…(sorry Tyler, Steven and Jared love you guys!!).
First of all ... Congrats on the milestone of 1 million subs !! You totally deserve it !!! I have been with you for a long time now & you have worked so hard to bring us great content !! Thank you !! Second : I am so excited about your new channel geared towards us guitar nerds !! Thank you once again !!!
Well done on the big million! Personally, I prefer the videos about the experience of being a touring musician. I can't do all the technical shred stuff on guitar, but also I don't particularly feel like I want to. That's not to say I wouldn't want to improve as a guitarist so I will be checking out the new channel, but I'm just throwing it out there that actually I like the videos where you're talking about your experiences. I look up to you as someone who has started from the same beginnings as the rest of us and now gets to play festivals and tour. I'm just the bass player in a black metal band and even though I love doing that, it's never going to pay the bills unless by some miracle our next album does really well.
I actually use rss feed, exactly because youtube seems so strange now. So with rss fedd i actually recieve the notification of my favorite channels like yours
I’m glad you made this video! The main reason I found you in the first place is because I’ve been getting back into guitar after years and you’re one of the few entertaining people out there for this topic.
YAY :D I have been looking forward to this for a while now as a long time viewer happy that you found a solution that works and just a question from me are you doing any acoustic guitar lessons all tho I will be watching there any ways I would love to learn more about it since I have had an acoustic guitar for nearly a year and I still cant really play well and there is not tutors in the area to help me cause I made the great decision to live on a farm on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere
Hell yeah!!!! My man made a channel just for us nerds!!!!! I love your content brother, been a fan now for a few years, and you deserve every bit of success you get!!!!! We appreciate you keeping true to your roots while also pushing forward to reach new heights!!!!! Hopefully you can do a US tour one day!!!!!
Bernth Guitar Academy Rules! Meanwhile I'm actively working on what you explained in the Masterclass and Justin Hombach's speedpicking course. You guys rule dude!!
I remember when RU-vid was just a search bar, and you actually had to use your imagination or type something you liked to find videos...that was the best time for me, sure, it was before it was monetized, but still...I would say 2005 to around 2010 or so. Suprisingly, most people say "youtube was just cat videos back then" and no it wasn't, you just didn't spend enough time searching! haha. One thing for sure, it was less "professional" channels, but there were some. Many music and gaming publications for example already had professional channels back in like 2006-2007.
Okay I'd like to see videos on your new channel that teaches somebody how to get started and when they don't have any natural talent but absolutely absolutely love electric guitar some the basics like first time picking finger exercises what to avoid what to do and what not to do would be great and remember no natural talent even fail typing class so basic finger exercising and starting Peking in amp setting cuz everybody put songs out there without telling you how to set amplifier and pedal setups and we're not talking about a thousand or a couple hundred thousand dollar computer setup
побольше контента для начинающих, и канал расцветет. Не все умеют и смогут sweep peak. Но начальные уроки будут полезны многим. Также можно разобрать известные +- простые песни. Думаю это поможет оживить канал) Much respect and thanks, learned a lot, still didn't progress much because of laziness)
RU-vid should implement a "suscription tag" Where you can search for specific content of your suscriptions .. Imagine to put the tag : guitarrists, singers, digital painting, etc And you can see only recomendations and upload from those subjects inside your suscriptions Because a lot of people are suscribed to a lot of youtubers... So when we click on " suscriptions " we see chaotic stuff " This could avoid the monopoly of "home/suggested" Or they can also create something like " suggested from people you follow"
