When I press follow, it doesn't give any error and it shows that I follow the person, but when I go to my profile It shows that Its shows that i don't follow
My problem is I made a new account. When I follow people and then refresh or leave the page, it says I’m not following them. Same with liking videos. I’ve liked tons of videos but just gone to rewatch them and none are there. Tried deleting the app etc. no joy
this is exactly what happened to me , I’m guessing it’s happening to a lot of people in this comment section based off of how it looks, I have no clue what causes it but from what I’m seeing just try to not use the account for a few days? But also I’m not sure if it’s just a shadow ban or if it can just happen to anyone at anytime but it’s horrible and annoying, I had made a second account to make edits and stuff and it broke within 5 hours so yea, but then I go back to my main one and it works just fine , so I’m not quite sure what the issue is
Same here. Two days ago made a new acct and I can’t follow, or like anything. Idk if it was bc I was posting too much, Idek if people followed me cause all I can see is profile views
@@ellianagibson585 I was forced to delete my account and have a different one, now I’m all good, I guess tik tok just does something to some accounts right off the bat or it just is broken a lot , so I would just try to make a new account
Yeah, I was just having a similar thought. I've followed 3 people in the last week and now I'm trying to follow a new account that showed up in my recommended and it's not registering the follow. No way Tiktok thinks I'm a bot because I've been commenting on the videos that I watch and will watch two or three videos before I Follow just to make sure I'm interested.
My problem is that when I try to follow somebody it works while I am viewing their account, but then when I leave their account or close TikTok, it says I'm not following them anymore. It has been doing this with every account I have tried to follow and I am not sure why
It’s because TikTok is a corrupt company that only cares about stealing your info. It’s like, “If you don’t use our app within 5 days, we are not letting you use our app at all”. And then when you try to contact them, they don’t give you any way to reach out to them. It’s sick.
This video is for those who follow too quickly and get a 24hour ban. There is currently a fault with tiktok in which you follow an account but its like it doesn't register (when tou follow too quickly and get a 24hour ban a message comes up so its different) despite reports to tiktok on 2 newly made accounts all they repeatedly tell you to do is upload recent updated app, restart phone, clear cache and try on other devices. I have done all of this so I advise to keep reporting. Something must have happened with recent updates that they haven't worked out yet
it’s been like months and i unfollowed everyone i cant follow anyone at all it shows the check but one i check my profile or get off the profile and go back it’s unfollows
I just downloaded TikTok so I could watch my favorite RU-vidr’s streams on there and it doesn’t let me follow her, or anybody else. When I click follow it follows the user but then if I reenter the page or reload it then it unfollows them. If I change the notifications it’ll say “Couldn’t save settings. Try again” and the same things happen when I do try again. Another thing is it doesn’t let me change my profile. So far the only part I got to edit on my profile is the username and pronouns, everything else just says I’m editing to fast even when I do it at a slow paste or come back 5 minutes later. Help pls 😭
Nope, neither of these and still can’t follow any user. People can follow me, and I can tap follow / follow back but as soon as I refresh it goes right back to the follow/follow back options. Deleted and reuploaded the app, restarted phone, sent a report. Still nada. Not a good experience for first time user at all.
Yeah, it stinks. I never was able to resolve it so I just had to create a new one - no problems following others whatsoever on that one, go figure =/ @@Sunshine091481
What if I dont have them blocked and they don't have me blocked and I can't follow them, I follow them then refresh my page then it doesn't show as I follow

I just created an account in the phone app last night and I successfully followed one person that I wanted to follow last night. Today I've signed into the website on my desktop and I just found Keanu Reeves and wanted to follow him. He would have been the second person I followed but the website gives me the message "Couldn't follow account". The like button also undoes itself after a few seconds when trying to like a video on the website as if I never clicked the button. So far haven't had these issues on the app. I checked my cookies and my firewall and nothing seems to be blocking the website in any way. Disabling my ad blockers also yields no results.
Heya, seeing that nobody responded to this, I've returned after finally discovering a fix for my problem. The problem is that I don't use Google Chrome 🙃. I'm guessing that Tiktok only supports Chrome and Firefox (and maybe Safari and Edge, I've only tried Chrome so I'm not sure) but it doesn't fully support Opera GX, which is what I use. So yeah, if you want to use Tiktok to its full extent on your desktop or laptop, you just can't use Opera.
@@ZoldJay I wish I could help. It kinda just started working on Opera after a really long time and I didn't do anything to fix it. I don't know what's wrong with their website.
I use desktop and everytime I follow and then reload the page it unfollows me. I haven't followed anyone in the past 24 hours and I'm only following 40 other accounts, idk what to do
I registered an account with my computer. I can follow fine with my computer. Now, with the Iphone 7 Plus, it doesn't register the follows. I can see the red button and it acts as if you followed the accounts, BUT I can see the earlier follows done via my computer. VERY FRUSTRATING.
Hi I Made a new account but I can't follow any one and also my profile doesn't show me my following list once I can see there is for example 150 following but when I come to again that decrease to 0 What is the problem?
I never have followed anyone off a list, I just follow people back, reached 10,000 people over a 2year period. Reached a limit there and how might you get past that. Thx for any info you can provide.
What right does tiktok have to micromanage who and how many people we follow? This angers me because I have a lot of people clicking follow on my page and the number of followers remains minimal. This is slowing down my success. It's really sabotaging my growth.😡 It's in my opinion a discrimination of some kind because other people have over a hundred thousand followers and even millions. Why can't I grow too? Tiktok must not micromanage how many people can follow my page. If that's how it is then what's to stop them from favoring one race or group over another?
They only care about stealing your data. If you don’t use their product for the littlest amount of time, they don’t care about you because they don’t see you as someone they can take data from. It’s sick.
If you wait like two days and it didn’t work and like because I’m not following my followers back there like on following me and I’m losing followers I have a lot like 400 or some thing but like I’m all losing them because I cannot follow them back what did I do I just wait or I’m banned

My friend is trying to follow me And i can see her account and be able to message and she can message back but it wont let her follow it keeps on doing the follow unfollow glich
mine can follow but when i refresh it gone. but i fix it by disable dns and adguard related app, then i hide my root to the app and then clear data and login back again, give access to my contact and when i try follow my contact it work.
Ok I just made another account and I only have 298 followers and I’m following 150 I try and follow someone back and it says following and then kicks it back and says follow. Then I send a direct message to my other account and it pops up that I violated there guidelines then when I send in feedback about it they say sorry for the inconvenience this don’t go against our guidelines. But I still can’t send a message. I have not commented anything bad on a video or anything to have this happen
I've setup a business account on tik tok and it's not letting me follow anyone at all. When I click follow, it shows for a short while, then if I come out of the app and go back in, it's not there. It's very confusing. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
That is not helpful. I don't follow accounts unless they followed me. When I hit follow back and go to message being they are a personal friend or anything it says I have to friend them first. Even the friend hi wave 👋 says send a wave hi I do then it says have to be friends. Umm well. It let's me unfollow just not follow. With your comment of following to quickly.. it tells you a message across the screen saying so
I'm having the opposite of this person. Won't let me unfollow people. It's embarrassing with mutuals. Making it seem like I didn't know you unfollowed me. I've contacted tiktok. I hope they respond asap.
I created an account on my computer... and it wouldnt let me follow ppl but when I opened the app on my phone it let me start following people... so maybe you cant follow from pc with new accounts... hope this helped some 1
None of this stuff works. My boyfriend has never been able to follow anyone since he started his Tik Tok. It shows as follow when you hit the button but as soon as page refreshed they are unfollowed. He finally got sick of the bs & deleted the account. According to all of these comments its an ongoing issue w/ Tik Tok that many are having.
My problem is on the main screen that’s the part that say for you but I don’t see the part that says following and explore . I can follow others but I don’t see the two part . Can u help ?
ok so i am only following 3 people and i have over 10k followers and im in the creator fund. all of a sudden i cannot follow anyone i cannot even like my own videos and when i like a video it will automatically take my like away like i never even liked it and wont show up in my liked videos. ive tried everything i have no community guidlines strikes nothing. any advice? My account got permanently banned and I don’t know why, so I made a brand new account, and TikTok will not let me follow anyone, what do I do, and yea I restarts and deleted the cache things but it’s still not working???
