Maybe doing a live stream for members who has genuine questions about porting/modding chainsaws and you could have an open discussion with them on their questions that they have. A lot of people have questions on how things work and whatever so for you to have that personal format would give some people a real reason to be interested in being a member, I know I’d be if that was an option but I realize it’s easier said than done. I’m sure some people on here will have some good ideas.
Yea this really sucks for me as every penny of my 900 bucks a month to live on is spoken for. Hell my daughter bought me this phone and pays the bill or I wouldn't even be able to watch your content. Just know if I could pay I would. I hope it all works out for ya Boedy I love your stuff!
Comments help the RU-vid algorithm, the algorithm will promote his channel more 2 other YT viewers the more comments, 👍 and views his content gathers! Ever little bit helps!
Boedy! The one thing that keeps me from sending a saw for port work is, that I don't have a saw I can put in it's place while the work is being done. If someone like you said hey, I'll do the work on your saw, I'll send you this saw to use while I work on your saw.
I've tried putting effort into YT, but none of my long format videos get views, and I havent been monitized since 2012, theres $63 sitting in my Adsense thats been there since then 😂 At this point IDGAF, I put out what I want, when I want. If it gets views, it gets views, if it doesn't, oh well. My shorts are mostly pulled over from the other app I post on, and have many more subs on(11.6k) but doesnt pay Canadians at all... I've had people bug me for merch etc, but the up front costs arent in my budget. I wish I could justify the time and effort and investment to improving my content quality and just plain make more of it, but there would be no ROI at this point. I genuinely enjoy your content, and I hope things take off for you.
Interesting video Boedy. When i lost my father I went through a process of re evaluating a lot of my life and it seems you're doing the same. Personally my channel is all about sharing my saw & axe journey & knowledge (what little of it there is).. it seems to me yours started the same way but you're now a bit lost, torn between the content you think will be popular and the content you want to make. Trying to make content for views is hard, without a script, a hook and some sharp editing (look up mr beasts video editor guy) I think youll be happier making content you just want to make or youd like to see and i think happy, enthusiastic people is what a lot of people want to see on youtube.. not sure what im trying to say really, but hope it helps in some small way. Your work ethic so far has been incredible, all id say is keep that up and keep making videos your audience want to see and youll get to the point where its paying its way.

That depends on the watcher. Me personally, thats my least favorite type of saw video unless it's specific like the 8 ways of cutting down a tree from Guilty of treeson.
Thanks Terrell! I saw that you might want to start out on a 435xtorq... not the best option to start with. Xtorq saws don't get good gains, but they do like a muffler mod. I also understand you don't mind it if things go bad on the 435. Best to learn on is one of the 62cc chinese clones. They can actually be pretty good saws, and if you screw up the cylinder, a new one is only like $20.

Can't understand how you dont have at least 10 times the subscribers..with all the content you put out..must be something to do with RU-vid algorithm?..Personally i find the chinese saws interesting..and the clamshell saw mods 👍
I have some constructive criticism if you are willing to have any. We can have the conversation here or in an email. Or not at all. Matters not to me but I believe these are things that will improve your channel subscription.

Its not because of the characters I watch, its because of the saws. I could definitely do without the characters and just watch you do the cutting. In fact, the whole character thing I find off putting for a saw channel. This is coming from someone that watches letter Kenny and trailer park boys. I'm a true saw enthusiast. Brand doesn't matter as long as I like it. I don't work with a saw or heat with wood. I burn wood at our back yard fires and give away more than I burn just from storm damage or diseased trees from our 20 acres. I like to repair, modify and run saws for myself. All saws. The point I'm getting to here is you have may have alienated a large portion of your potential audience because of your constant bashing of Stihl products and Stihl owners. I'm not a fan boy of any products and I'm even sick of hearing it. It wouldn't matter if it was echo, Husqvarna or whatever. You have beat that dead horse to a muddy, bloody mush. I'm sure I'm not the only one thats tired of it. I know I'm not in fact. My suggestion is to stop even having Stihls on your channel if you really feel that strongly and be done with it. We get it. You are a Stihl hater / Electrolux fan boy. Yes, you ARE a fan boy, and thats fine. Lol. Another point, stop making excuses when a saw you port doesn't turn out like you planned. Own it. I have watched you blame other porters, several times, using special chains and soft wood to make their saws look good. You using hard wood and normal chains is why it looks slow you claim. No, its just slow. The end. None of the professional porters I know and have saws built by do what you claim. Those guys had duds in the beginning too but they knew who's fault it was. Theirs. Yes, there is more. Sorry. You gave the green light. Lol. There are times, many, where you do your saw comparisons and then talk about how the chain aren't the same sharpness ect. People want to see identical chains and cutting on each saws if thats the type of content you are showing. Same wood, same chain, same bar. That eliminates one more variation that puts doubt in the results with people. Maybe consider stop porting for money, as you are still a novice and you know this. Port saws for the channel that are yours. Same content and no drama if one comes back or stuff goes sideways. I actually couldn't believe you went from using a hand held sander to "deck" a cylinder to selling port jobs as expensive as builders with hundreds and some, thousands of saws under their belts. It was a year or two and only after a few saws if I recall correctly. I think you are getting better at the porting but shouldn't be learning on customers saws. My opinion. I won't port a saw for anyone unless I'm giving them the saw and I'm pretty good at it. Its just a hobby and I'm still learning. Learn how to weld or braze or have someone else build your exhaust if you still plan on selling your porting work. Those boogers you throw at your muffler mods would never fly with me or any of the saw guys I hang with, and it's many. Guys used to getting work done by Kevin LeVanway, Mastermind, Tree Monkey, Shawn Carr and a couple others. People see that kind of quality and your nonchalant attitude about it and move on. After all these, seemingly harsh criticisms, you are still one of the channels I look forward to watching the most. Not sure why. Something about your personality maybe. It's about being entertained, not learning, this I know. With your channel that is. I've watched nearly every single minute of your content and I want your channel to survive. Maybe I'm way off base here but I think some of the above things are part of the problem getting or keeping subs, and watching minutes. I think you are probably a riot to be around. Maybe we will meet some day. Could even be saw fest some year or if you end up at a non RU-vid chainsaw GTG in the circles I run in. I'll keep watching for now.
Thanks for the criticisms. Some I might be able to change, others...I cannot. I've had to put up with lots of folks trying to mold me into BBR. I am not him. I run a saw and give my opinions on it. If I like it and it is nice...that's what I say. You are suggesting that I stop running Stihl chainsaws entirely because I never like them...Quite the contrary. I absolutely love my 064, I have liked every 660 clone I have ever ran, I really really liked my 028 Super, I dig my MS400 and 361, and I really really liked the 038 that I ran. So...should I really stop running Stihl chainsaws? I'll admit that I get your point...but try to be more forgiving. You see, I am a genuine person who is trying to make TONS of content in order to grow my channel rapidly. How often per video do you see me bash a Stihl chainsaw? You see, I put out sooo much content, that I believe you have confused the quantity. Sure, I may dislike a Stihl in some way maybe three times per month...but in that month, I have released 30 videos. So that's 27 times that I did not bash on Stihl. But I do get your point. Also, the tests being uneven... This one always gets me. It is another thing that subscribers cannot understand because they are just sitting back and being entertained, not actually creating. Actually creating these videos takes a LOT of effort. Sometimes, I didn't make a specific video, but I still want to put something out for my audience to see...hence- an imperfect video. Again, subscribers need to be more forgiving. Yeah, it would have been great if everything was totally perfect and spot on, but that wasn't the case. In those situations, I choose to believe that whether the viewer understands it or not, they would prefer to have imperfect content over no content at all. You still get to see and hear the saws run. Sure, it wasn't perfect but hey, better than nothing! Right? Now maybe it is the case that I need to start putting out one video per week and have everything polished. Maybe that's spot on. Maybe not... One thing is for sure, I am heavily considering only one video a week that is public, and all the rest are for paid memberships only. If a person doesn't feel like my content is worth $2.99 per month...well then I guess they don't get to watch for free anymore. If I can get just 1,000 people to subscribe for $2,99 per month, I will make SIX times more money than what RU-vid is paying me based on ad revenue. Look what I have built with no money. Now...imagine what I would do if I had $3k or more per month. I have already given away approximately 10 saws. Some were duds, for sure...but some most definitely were not. This months giveaway saw is going to be VERY nice. It will go to a paid member. I'm done giving saws away to non contributors. And you are right, I am a blast to hang around with. And I am SUPER fun loving and jolly. People see me mess up on a video, get upset, goof off...whatever. The mistake is when people get critical of me. It is understandable, because people are soooo inundated with perfection. People don't show their mistakes. Hell, people won't even post a picture of themselves unless it show them the way they think they look. So to see someone like me throwing caution to the wind, and fucking shit up...well, they tell me I shouldn't do this or I shouldn't do that. They often get too carried away with what I should be presenting to the world. And because of these judgements that get passed, folks can often miss out on a lot of fun stuff.

Yes you have reduced the amount of trash talk against stihl saws and their "fan boys" but early on you harped on it frequently. "I'll take every opportunity to make a Stihl look like a turd". Your words. How could anyone take your cut speed comparisons seriously when you have, several times, stated things along those lines. More than once you made references like this and regularly refer to Stihl owners as fan boys and cry babies. The damage has already been done with many I'm sure. My point about you not having Stihls on the channel anymore was me saying if you can't just run it and give the reasons you don't like a saw, any saw and do so without the Stihls are shit comments ect, then don't show them at all because it hurts your bottom line. I doesn't hurt my feelings or bother me and I happen to have 3 Stihls in my collection. It gets old hearing it. And clones.....they aren't Stihls. Just imagine, you knowing yourself better than anyone, if its even possible for you to have the same disdain for a product like the 5 series Husqvarnas that eat crank bearings and run so hot they won't start. Fastest 50cc saw made till its not. You gloss over those faults like its no big deal but if it were orange and white.....oh boy. Again, I care less. Junk is Junk no matter the brand. I take every saw on its own merits. If you can't be objective then don't have them on your show. It would be better in the long run in my opinion. As far as the paid subscription....for me there is no RU-vid channel worth another monthly fee except the ones that moved to motortrend TV. All the roadkill shows ect. That's $29.99 well spent for me. I wish you all the best with however this shakes out.
I found your channel through the wild thing❤ videos, i have a fondness for those old Electrolux poulans , the best poulan i ever had was a 2750 i cut firewood comercaly for a lot of years with that saw , but what i wanted to say was you don't have to justify yourself to anyone, i have never felt better since i stopped trying to justify myself to people that dont deserve a second thought, i just tell them to go fuck themselves.
You have to do more wack offs brother… beg borrow and steal any chainsaw you can and run it against every saw you have… ive been here since you had only hundreds of subscribers… the wackoffs are your bread and butter in my opinion… id be interested to see if your best months monetarily were heavy on the wacking off
The Wack-Offs are notoriously low views. When you look at them, check to see how old they are. Sure, some have 5k views, but...it took them over a year to get that. Trust me, I know my stats and the Wack-Off videos are poor to average performers. Best videos for numbers are whining and drama.

You have to decide if you are going to be an entertainment channel or knowledge channel. Trying to be both appears isn't working out. I like the concept of this novice experimenting and effing stuff up as he learns and makes mistakes and we, the viewers, are entertained by his trails and tribulations but still might learn something along the way. Not welding. Not learning that here....lol. just bustin balls there.
I have always enjoyed the wackoffs and listening to the bs sessions breaking them down. Something I have noticed is in all the time I’ve watched the channel, I haven’t seen a live feed for some live Q&A. Give that a try might bump your views and subs to a different audience.
So I truly try to watch all of your videos….the goofy stuff is only good for so long. Your wackoff stuff would be more interesting without all the theatrics, my opinion. I speed scrub thru most of them till the final, then I watch if you don’t on and on about the same old stuff. Don’t get me wrong I still keep checking in and watching what I can, but know way am I going to buy in $$$ when there’s so many other good channels out there.
