Hi, this song made me cry also... I'm 53 and I lost my father 20 years ago and it still hurts. This is one of those songs that can bring out emotions of an older man! Thank you.

Personally I like the James Blunt version better,but Chakra does a great job with it. I would like to suggest another one from Blunt that always brings tears to my eyes, The girl that never was. A song about loosing an unborn child. As always,love you reactions!

Hey Aileen, thanks for the reaction. I'd definitely react the original from James Blunt. It is deeply personal to him and what you see in that clip is his real feelings & emotions based on a diagnosis for his own father that was not good. I won't say any more than that other than to check it out!

My dad passed away in 2020 and I saw James video a few months after he died. I was a complete mess. I still am. Iam tongi's american idol audition he did of the song I felt all his heartbreak and I don't know how he got through it without breaking down. Cakra has an amazing voice.

As others have said you should give the original James Blunt a listen, along with the official video of course, if you thought this version, good though it is, was emotional, sheesh! Given that James was an officer in the British army, and saw active service in the former Yugoslavia at the time of the Balkan war, it must have taken real guts to lay his emotions so bare, as he does in this song and the video, when all military are expected to be real macho men.

I don't think she should do James Blunt's original version. His official video has much more impact, but when you already know the lyrics, it's not the same. A reaction to the original version with the emotion it brings is simply not possible if it's not the first time you hear it.

If this made you cry, Im so curious to see what the original would do. This covers really good no doubt, but the original is something you can't top with this particular song especially the original video with a very emotional James just looking into the camera singing this song to his father who was next to him at the time of the recording. If Im not mistaken his dad was dying from some type of kidney problem and during the recording of that music video he was in the process of passing away which is why James was so emotional singing it to him in that video. I HIGHLY reccomend that original version for you to check out, bring your tissues though haha

uhn-uh - hi lil lady Eileen; I’ve heard the song twice, once by James Blunt, writer of that and original singer, then by the HW guy Wm. Tongi, in the competition ‘American Idol,’ sang with James. My Gran, my dads mother is 98, has a vet clear, sharp mind. But, my Daddy, at 80, has pre-Alzheimers Dimentia some days he knows me, some not. It breaks my heart knowing that the man who nurtured and raised me, has always been there, now depends on my momma and I to assist him in the smallest of things, from deciphering something as simple as what it is he wants to drink, to if or where he hurts. I just can’t listen to that song again. I’m sure the young man was good… but I’ll trust u for that part. Honestly, I couldn’t even listen to you talking about it either. This ‘monster’ called age dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease is a thief, and a horrible thing that steals the remaining life of people who were, one day bright, and full of life, next day - lifeless eyes staring out of a person who now considers me a stranger. Me, blood of his blood. People - love, and cherish your parents while you can. catch you later, little lady @Eileen!
