I love Darkness even more in season 3. Watching her kind of act like the adult in the room, and try to keep the rest of the gang in line has been awesome.

I think my favorite darkness moment came this season, when she was pleading with Kazuma to not read the letter from the princess (in episode 2 or 3 don’t remember) it’s a very short and brief moment but there’s something about her voice and how she’s animated that just sends me

@sparkysatellite imo it shows a depth to her character that A. Her upbringing as a noble is important and relevant to the story and she isn't just a lul horny character gimmick, and B. It shows she has a deep understanding of her friends - and by that I mean she understands all too well how easily they can all be executed for being dumb af.

The question is if they are also going to adapt the Dust spinoff. It's not bad, but Dust is basically 'Kazuma-lite' (if he was just a regular fantasy character, and wasn't Isekai-ed)

he's stated in a couple of other videos that he has difficulty pronouncing words that are repeatedly spoken aloud or spelled out due to previous brain injury, something to do with repeated words muddling in a part of the brain that deals with , language stuff other medical jargon I can't expand on

Heavily disagree about the ending. The fight against the demon king had me on the edge of my seat laughing harder than I ever had in a book. Seriously, I dont think I have ever been amused harder with a book before vol 17. The subversion of how a hero would fight a demon king vs Kazuma was brilliant.

That’s essentially Konosuba in a nutshell. It’s a most unconventional approach to an isekai. You have four people who are perfectly great in their area *kazuma being a jack of all trades* but are absolutely catastrophically incompetent together. In fact. The fact Kazuma was far appreciated when he swapped parties says a LOT. Or the bit when he and Chris broke into the castle. But it’s that dysfunctional nature that makes this series stupid fun 😂

I remember hearing someone comparing Konosuba as the anime equivalent of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'. The four/five worst idiots causing trouble and creating chaos but having a blast and smiling along the way. I couldn't agree more and this third season is absolutely hilarious! It feels like it has only gotten better and better.

What's worse Winter Soldier, one of the best MCU movies, just turned 10 years old 2 months ago. Guardians of the Galaxy will soon turn 10 years old too in 2 months.

My guess is it might as well be another world, even if it's "technically" the same world. Everything is so drastically different that it mimics the isekai experience in its entirety to the point where that technicality is just semantics.

I'd say it's more fantasy isekai, since the "past" has magic, demons, supernatural creatures and cultures, etc. The "past" is so far removed from normal human society that it barely resembles the concept of the "past" at all. It'd be more time travel than isekai if the past wasn't so excessively supernatural compared to its modern present day counterpart.

Konosuba was the second completed novel series I read and the first one I fully owned. First one was High School DxD (before the "True" sequel series and I read it online since there was no official translation then). This series threw me around until I started understanding that it's basically just an Isekai parody and it was fun. I'm still a bit miffed that the Demon Kings Daughter never interacted with Kazuma, like so many other girls(?) of the demon king army but while there is no sequel yet, it was at least put on the table someday in the future. Still, I have no desire to watch the Anime or read the Manga when there is so much out there and I have only so little time but that doesn't mean I think it's a bad series.

14:50 MAN this part really hit me, I'm an overthinker and my brain goes into overdrive after social interactions, like at work I'll think about mistakes I made, or if I annoyed people, and what they think of me. Or after hanging out with my friends I worry that I talk too much, and it kind of paralyzes me thinking so much. I sit there just thinking, unable to move. Worried that people don't like me and that I'm just some moron. But then I have to remember, its all stupid. ALL of us are morons. The U.S. and capitalism is literally just a joke, we are fed this dream thats not actually real to keep up this obsession with unhealthy work culture. So much of it is so scummy and evil, all the while a few people get richer and richer. And for what?! Just for the sake of it. Its all a joke. Its ALL stupid. Humans just want to see a number or a line on a graph get higher. And yet we take work culture so seriously. At the end of the day We are just a speck within a speck of a speck, and it could literally all dissapear and we have NO control over it, maybe one day a giant fuck off meteor will just kill us all. Literally, anything could happen to our tiny planet. So why worry about the small things? I really should just live in the moment and enjoy the time I have. I'm not entirely sure if thats okay considering the stuff I'm learning about (like cobalt mines) is it wrong to relax while that is happening? I don't know, but maybe I'm overthinking. I guess I should just try to live my life. I want to draw characters, so I should focus on that.

I respect anyone who loves konosuba, ofc, but I have to disagree with you saying the ending was lackluster, as in a negative way, I do think it WAS lackluster, but in a bittersweet and charming way to end the series, and also to provide a easy way to come back to the series, but in my opinion the ending was a special type of experience

@marocat4749 She deserves the world. It's not mentioned in the anime but in the light novel she was behind the scenes pulling the strings to help save Kazuma from being executed from saving the town from the Terminator Spider Robot from the first season.
