I’m 56 and a high school English teacher. My generation is very much embodied within Tim Walz. I don’t coach, I don’t own a gun, and I didn’t grow up in the Heartland, but I get this guy and he gets me. I’m very excited.

He did say in hindsight he should have deployed the National Guard more quickly but that was an unprecedented time with Covid in full swing and the death of Floyd at the hands of police. He didn't want to just escalate the situation by being heavy handed too soon but it was a tough call. I suspect very few states would have handled it differently.
